This past 2x fame weekend is when I leaped into HA. I had previous HA experience, but not as much as this past event. However, I had the people willing to help out with strategies and things like that (and the patience <3). The event did inspire me to learn more about it, I mean, after playing PvE for 3 years, you really do need something else to do. There's only so many titles you can get on multiple characters... or care to grind...
Now, after having that 2x fame weekend, I have kept up with HA'ing on a random basis. Every other night or so, just to keep it fresh in my mind. Also, to keep in touch, I guess you could say, with the people that I met and hung with over that weekend.
Aren't the PvP titles the hardest ones to max out? When looking at all titles available, of course, across the game as a whole. It took Starcraft how long to get R15? 3 years (Personally, I don't know how long dude has been playing...)? Yeah, so I can see why the 2x weekends come into play. They need someone to max something to show others that it is actually possible. Light at the end of the tunnel, if you will.
These weekends do draw many new people to the scene, but it also gives them more of an opportunity to find an unranked group, if that's what they are seeking.
As far as AB/RA/TA/HB, I don't do much of those, I find the matches boring most of the time. Also, with the HB, I did hear of a lot of /roll'ing going on in there, what's the point!? Grr. GvG I'd like to get more into, and I believe the alliance I'm in has the people to make that happen, for now. ;p
