The Scoop with M.O.X.
Omega Precept
Closed until update goes live
As many of you know tomorrow during the update a new hero will become available named M.O.X. The Golem. I was wondering if anyone has uncovered any details as how to obtain this hero besides that you have to have all three campaigns.
For a bit more limited information check out wiki:

There's not much to know about it I guess.
Name is MOX, looks like a Golem, is Dervish and can be obtained through a fairly easy quest that is most likely a cross-campaign quest, and after completing that quest MOX can start collecting dust
However what I do wonder is if MOX can be added to HOM, and if so, is it able to get a diffirent armor, like all the other heroes.

Would knowing today what you will find out tomorrow really change anything?

Yes because another derv hero is exactly what we wanted, I mean who needs the other 2 when you've got this new one, i'm so going to start using derv heroes now!11!1 Seriously with all the effort of making a hero they coulda done something different...like give us a minipet so we can flog for 100k+xxe's or hell just give us money.

Another Hero, especially a Dervish is useless and waste of content if you ask me. It is nice they are addin something else, but why a hero? Most people use Triple Necro's anyways... and most rarely ever use Dervish, like me. Only good reason to have Golem hero would be to add him to HoM, but big wow! A few minutes of excitement just to look at another hero, and then put him away to rust...
Anet seems very desperate in coming up with ideas to keep people lookin forward, but so far nothing worth while. If it ain't another expansion or added elite mission, then it will most likely fail to keep people playing... If anet cannot see that, then we should all pray for them and GW.
But,I guess this is all we can get/expect from having only 2 Anet people dedicated to GW1. We might have to start planning a Funeral for GW

instead of a new hero, how bout some changes to more unused skills?
or some new content like new area's in eotn or something
you can go through all of eotn in a week or two
and if you do give a hero
give one that has a proffession that can be used like ele, monk, necro, ritualist or something
but i never use dervs

They were working on Mox for a few months? And it is just a Dervish hero?
My Tenagg Flametroller senses are tingling.
Tenagg Flametroller will be amused if there is some cool twist update
If he really is a "...the ultimate in magic, mechanised party protection." I can say an honest: "GGAnet

Meanwhile, I'm willing to bet M.O.X. will have the ability to use a few unique skills either to him or unique to other heroes i.e. PvE only skills. They're not going to spend all sorts of time and effort on a special new hero just to have him collect dust.
Two factors to consider:
1. M.O.X. was marketed as the ultimate in mechanized party protection or whatever. Realistically, I don't think ANet would just spew this garbage to increase the appeal.
2. M.O.X. will be PvE only. While in their secrecy ANet may have given (valid) reasons such as distraction, weapon visibility, etc., I'm not so sure M.O.X. won't have some kind of inherent effect on allies.
Lastly, I'm pretty excited about the release tomorrow and hope that I get time to get him and see what he can do. If those who are flaming have a problem, go ahead and leave the forums and don't get the dang hero when it's released.

Fistly i was just expressing my disappointment at anet, secondly 'virtually spit' at me all you want, welcome to the internet.
Even if anet let the derv use pve skills that's not very helpful, they should have just skipped the hero and worked on letting all heroes be able to use pve skills and/or 7hero usage.

hate to pop everyone's bubble... but... does THIS particular description sound familiar?
Origin: The Mists
Age: Inapplicable
Profession: Variable
it had EVERYONE thinking you could have him (Razah) as any primary you wanted.

I dont see why people are complaining about getting a new hero. You're getting something for free, so there is no reason to complain. Sure, you may want something else, but you'll just have to deal with it.
And maybe the hero isnt exactly what everybody thinks. It could be a special type of dervish, or possibly a variable primary hero(which would be pretty awesome). Just wait one day and find out

By the way how come the MOX topic got closed yet this is basically the same.
Avarre
This topic is open as long as some form of functional discussion takes place. It can be used to discuss MOX when the update goes through, since there'll be other stuff to discuss in the update thread.
Unless the update itself is small, in which case everyone can just move in there.

this hero addition is quite strange. they should have done something different with it than simply add another generic choice (and a dervish of all things). even stranger is that its pve only, surely a good design process could have avoided such a limitation. will his pve only status mean he has other unique attributes not found elsewhere, like special skills? i doubt it.
now a variable primary profession hero would have been something special.

Some people are complaining that this new content is a "waste" since it's just a Dervish. I think that you are missing the point.
It's a marketing mechanism for the new edition - Guild Wars: the Complete Collection. It was not meant for you (directly). It's a marketing device to get new players into the game, by buying the new edition. But since Anet anticipated the "QQ fest" (i.e. sh*tstorm) from the community, they decided to kindly let everyone (with all 3 campaigns) have it as well.
The only failure on ANet's part, in my opinion, is the monotone, uninspired position they took while offering us about the new hero: "Hey, new hero in a couple weeks..."
I think this should have been their message:
"Hey, we are coming out with a new edition of the game, boosting sales and attracting new players. Would you like to share in one of the new in-game goodies that we are offering? If there's interest, we will release details soon..."
This position would have generated a positive-to-neutral reaction. Instead, by just saying "we're giving you a new hero," without any context for the reason to create the hero itself, it spawned a negative-to-neutral reaction. People speculated as to why, and how they can waste resources on this, especially when other issues need attention, etc.
Good intentions. Poor execution.
(They *really* need some good marketing people in all aspects of customer-facing communications! This has always been a point of failure for this company.)

Well put Grunntar. Good thing I'm not going to be a QQer. I like dervish heroes a lot.. especially against undead !

if they make some good quest... or some new area its be great and reverse the "dervish" disappointment...
personaly i dont have anything against dervish... but... why not a any profession hero this will be wonderfull... you can make a 3 mesmer team, 3 paragorns, 3 rit...

All of this information was already on the earlier Mox thread, with many posts made by Regina (which is why I think it was a dumb idea to close that thread).
No, Mox will not be a variable profession, he is a dervish.
No, Mox can not be used in PvP.
Yes (according to regina) he will have different avatar forms.
Yes it will be released Thursday (again, was on another thread, we knew that weeks ago since they announced the MAT points would be given the week after that)

What so special about MOX? He is the only Golem that bleeds. So, i guess I'll do the quest as soon as we get the upgrade.
I need good laugh. and looking at a robot that bleeds is a good one

Sweet Mystery
I think that we may get a quest to gather parts of a Golem from the 3 lands... like B-4 in Star Trek:Nemesis... then we assemble him and have to get something to activate him.... lots of hidden parts all over that then we get a quest to complete him...
Just a thought...
