Nemesis, I could not care less. And you know why? Because having been away for a year I am not "hip" to the new acronyms of forum 'leet speak.

VS farm? I know not what is a VS; perhaps it is a Vile Sausage. What in the world is a VS?

Really I'm more concerned about the proliferation of forum 'leet speak than any farming that may be going on.

With a drop rate of around 0.2% i think it was calculated out to, or was it 2%, never, unless you get lucky and get a good req one to drop.

jade and amber prices are rock bottom now and NOBODY complains, so why the hell should people start complaining about onyx and diamonds?

Like i care that the prices of diamonds and gemstones goes down, i only have one destroyer staff because thats just about the best looking imo, now with lower prices i may just fill up the hom because i dont want to pay a shitload of cash for weapons that are utterly ugly.

If the skins where awesome id already have them all, but no!

Quite how this VS farm is "destroying the economy" any more than the current standard 40 minute UW HM Clear, is unclear to me. Really, a 40 minute run where most ele's get at least 1 ecto before the chest, and then the chest drops too is seriously screwed up.

I do love the irony that since the Ursan nerf, suddenly just about everything can be cleared in under an hour. Yes, it requires skilled players. But, people learn fast when motivated by that level of greed.

As for gold item drops, there are plenty of places to find these quickly already.

Mostly True. People are in fact still buying destroyer weapons. Despite the number of onyx and diamonds hitting the rare mat trader, they have dropped a bit slower then they could have. The reason I know people are buying them is by the granite slabs. Anyone notice they've one from 10g a pop to 6k per stack?

well, i don't think anyone who is willing to pay for their destroyer weapons to complain if they wan them simply to fill their hall, that is a un-needed commodity, it is not a necessity, the diminishing in value of these weapons has no matter, I mean hell, i bought mine back he day eotn went live after the beta weekend and that cost me well over a mill, you don't see me crying because they've dropped drastically from that do you?

I just got my req9 VS last night after 2 nights of farming, and I had been away from GW for months. I plan on using it, so it won't be added to the market supply lol.

I'm not complaining. I crafted the last 5 I needed to complete the set in my HoM yesterday. Thank you cheap onyx/diamonds. Sword, axe, hammer, bow and daggers. I salvaged the 15^50 off them and thrashed the ones that didn't break. I wouldn't be caught dead with those ugly things, even on my heroes.

Why would you want to promote discrimination between older players who abused things pre-nerf to get 100k and stacks of ecto, with the newer players who aren't able to buy anything because the items require insane grind and arrives are post-nerf?

Price drops are a good thing. And I bet that if you didn't play since 2006 or early 2007, you wouldn't be so "1337" you are today who sells items for insanely high prices not intended for GW in the first place. Hence the 100k limit!

Leave Onyx and Diamonds common. 1-2k is a fair price.
For the 10 diamonds and onyx, you are already paying 20k to craft destroyers weps. Thats just half the materials and not even the price to craft the weapon itself. And furthermore, destroyers weps aren't even that cool.

Before you flame me about being a noob, I would like to mentioned that I do indeed farm. I've slowly gotten all my Paragon elite armor. But 25 ecto and 100k is still insane for a single item!

How about you get a life and stop worrying about an economy that doesn't exist.

They knew of the consequences, everyone knew that eventually the price of onyxes and diamonds would drop. And 100-300k loss for having the weapons before anyone else is a small price to pay.


There's much more efficient ways of farming golds. Most of the gold's that drop are barely worth anything, and the ones that are couldn't hurt with a price cut.

And the point of that would be? Thommis has always been the easiest boss in Slaver's, even without the farm it'd take you only a couple minutes longer to get it the regular way.

In the end, you get to ask yourself why you worked so hard for something that isn't worth shit in real life. Skins are just flashy. Their meaning isn't so that you get the ability to curb stomp the fact that you have 'super cool weapons.'

For example: there's many owners of obsidian armor whose asses I have kicked before. So, rare skins for all. Voltaic spear isn't that great to me anyway. It's only popular because it's rare. I still use an elemental sword because I like it, even though it's worth as much as the merchant gives you for it. If crystalline was a common drop, I know for a fact it wouldn't be so idolized. It's ugly. It's only expensive because it hardly ever drops. Pathetic reason to keep it alive. Ugly things should be trashed, not cherished.

Yeah, it's kinda annoying that earlier this summer I shelled out two weeks worth of z-keys for a VS and now people can get one in five minutes, but as most everyone agrees there is not an economy in GW per se, never really was either. To my knowledge the only firm stance anet has ever taken was combating bots that had an entirely artificial effect on prices. In the end it really doesn't matter though because everything needed to play PvE can be crafted at a fixed price and / or acquired from a collector with minimal effort.

To all those have gotten their Voltaic Spear in a couple of days, I HATE YOU. I have been running this for 2 weeks and I have gotten nothing.

I dont think you realise how lucky you'd have to be to get a voltaic in just one run, the drop rate for them is low

its a bit like saying I shouldnt have worked hard for so many years, I could have just played the lottery and win millions

yes statistcly a chance for that happening exists...but we all know it wont happen :P

oh and about the economy part, I dont see anything wrong with cool thing being cheap and thus affordable by many others

lets face it, there are many many players who are not good at making gold [making below 10K/Hour minimum wage :P ]
