MOX and the Fire Imp
sdgg00
Humm.. I have purchased Prophecies + 1 Million Edition, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North from store... So it is quite impossible for me to obtain this summoning stone anymore?!
Would be nice if BMP, and perhaps character slot or other add-ons can be considerred.

So if I am reading this correctly, you can only get the imp if you purchased from the online store.
I'm sorry, I try not to subject myself to online identity theft as much as possible, and prefer to go to an actual store and look real people in the face and hand them cash.
Silly me, I guess no fire imp.

Very looking forward for doing the quests, yumm

survivor itself is easy enough
now it's just for granted seriously
no challenge in the game anymore

Here's another fun thing to try with this update:
Monster-free mapping:
Edge of the world baby!:
Before you laugh at the build, it's just something I toyed with while capping sin skills. The only skill you need is [Recall] - it's the same kind of deal as with Eredon Terrace. Pets seem to get stuck on the wrong side of the golems guarding the exit, so I used Recall on my pet - but it works just as well on the golems!
Have fun...
(Edit: Recall, not Return)

Here's a question, if someone can get a character from 1 to 20 (With Max armor) within a couple of hours by making a NF character, getting a run from Kammy to Docks to LA, using the gate trick at D'Alessio and then dwarven boxing at Gunnar's Hold, what's the point of these stones and the fire imp?
Shadowhaze
Mox looks cool. I do use dervy heroes at times, so should be fun to have a golem around. XD
As for the Imp...nice idea! But I'm just sad that it's very unlikely I'll ever use it as I already have all my chars at 20.

Meh,
Quests were fun, enjoyed the free added content.
MOX and Imp are dumb, though neither will ever be in my party.

Well, Ice Cliff Chasms is a LOT more fun with no enemies.

The question here would be, "does the death of the imp give xp to the charrs?"
As a summoned creature it should not. However, the guild wars announcement calls it an ally - so it might.
If the charr do get xp from its death then you could "death level" the charr using the imp and simply summoning a new one to die every 60 seconds instead of having to die yourself.
Since I can not get the imp, i can not check it out.
Anyone with an imp in presearing willing to try death leveling a moa with the imp to see if mobs get xp from its death?
If it does give xp then it is possible to obtain both LDoA and survivor on the same character.
In which case I will be really ticked off that I can't get one after all the cash I've given ANet over the last couple of years. Otherwise I don't really care since all my non-perma-pres are level 20 already and I'm not going to start one of them over just to get an imp anyway.
I do, however, like the golem.

The Fire Imp only being available to under level 20 players is a bit of a letdown if you ask me.
Otherwise, I like.

I'm waiting to hear the screams about "the complete destruction of the unique Pre economy" because the Imp is making it possible for lower level chars to farm Charr. The only thing left will be the service economy, unless we can teach the Imp to open the gate and destroy that, too.
Oh, and I also predict claims that Legendary Defender has now been completely devalued by making it easier to level, so ANet might as well have handed out un-nerfed Ursan to all new players along with the Imp.
Edit: Seems I missed a couple of posts, and the discussion has already begun.
@Tom Swift: You can only summon the Imp once every 60 *minutes*, not seconds. So it would be horribly slow -- to say the least -- to death level a moa using an Imp.

From a test in pre-sear earlier, he doesn't affect XP gained, and doesn't affect drops either.
So he'll be useful in clearing the various patrols out of the way, and useful after a death leveling session (them 4 bosses haz some phat lewt, so U and Impy should still pwn themz). But during a death level session.. er no not really useful.

Well, the game of the year update is especially handy in leveling a char in Pre if you want to do Legendary and it's not that expensive. The bow is especially good for pre characters. Also the imp would be good in pre.

Players who do not own Eye of the North are, for some reason, unable to get the MOX quests. We are working on a fix to this bug and as soon as it is fixed, we will release a build.

The big news is the Automaton Summoning Stone not the MOX. Who needs another dervish hero, but the reward for the quest gives this new consumable, at least it seems to be a consumable.
Also whats with the stinkin book. First thing I wanted to do was trash the book as I have little room for this kinda crap. Will you be able to purchase more of these Automaton Summoning Stone from the consumable dealers?

(Taken from the wiki page about MOX)
"Mox's default weapon is a max damage blue 9 req Clockwork Scythe of Fortitude with Damage +10% (while Enchanted) and Health +20."
lol what? I thought these things were big moolah. Can we get a voltaic spear if we get a 3rd paragon hero please?
(jk)
P.S. Is this scythe inscribible?
lol, ok! That makes sense at least.

MOX is sweet and nice.
Fire Imp...for <20 lvl?? Why need a leveling buddy if GW is already the easiest leveling game I know.

I was kinda po'ed when I saw and scythe then learned it wasn't inscribable.

Atleast now you can use the imp in pre searing to help kill your death leveled charr quickly. Surprised that we haven't seen much QQ about that.

Lyssa is purple. - Too big to click on other targets: I think people also use the TAB key, or whatever key they have for previous/next. - Can't easily tell which weapon he wields: Personally didn't have problems with that... But at least he doesn't bleed and he does look cool. I gotta admit that it was a good job on a general design. About the Fire Imp stone, I was disappointed it's reserved for non-lv20 character with a 60-minute wait between recharge. Personally annoying since my PvE chars are lv20, but in all it doesn't bother me too much. |
You were told that it couldn't be used in PvP and why. The designers felt that these reasons justified keeping it out of PvP. Just because you do not personally have problems with any of these issues doesn't mean that other PvP players would feel the same way. The designers felt that many more players would be opposed to having Mox in PvP than those who wouldn't have any problems with its size or any other reasons listed for keeping it out of PvP.
As I said before, Mox does suffer from conditions, including Bleeding. I've been saying for weeks that Mox is functionally the same as a regular Dervish Hero. The only difference between Mox and other Dervish Heroes is appearance, size, Avatar forms, and the fact that it is PvE-only.

I have reported this issue to customer support team, one of the GMs asked me to purchase something on the in-game store. So i listed my character slots and BMP I bought at in-game store as their reference and for this siligtly unusal requirement.
Now the ticket is showing in progress, let hope GW players facing the same problem can be sloved in this way.
Besides, I am quite impressed to receive 4 responses from 3 GMs for the ticket I sent off, thanks a lot for that.

Why not to make M.O.X stronger then other heroes? I mean, we don't need another dervish hero, and since it's PvE only...
C'mon he is a Golem, I think it isn't supposed to be weak.

maybe their support is getting better O_______o, i myself like the new hero, the imp thing is ok i guess, since in places like proph you dont level fast and needs you to get a run to LA if you want to go to EotN. Hope we can purchase more of the golem summoners, the 60 min recharge is a bit too much maybe reduce it to like 30 mins or even less, there is a high chance the imp will die at low levels. Keep in mind you probably wouldnt summon it at lvl 18,19 you would probably summon at lvl 1-16,17 etc, so it will prob die fast. oh and for above i agree let him use pve skils, only 3 ofc, and it woulnt really be any more imba since no one use a derv hero anyway.

That said, it's personal preference and gamestyle.

You did not qualify to get the Fire Imp yet, that's it. They aren't going to "fix" anything for you, as there is no problem to solve.
The only thing I could see them possibly changing in the future is to include the BMP as a viable option for the summoners, which will affect everyone who owns it (because that's the only way one could get it) and have nothing to do with your support ticket.

also... it wouldnt be so horrible for mox to have special effects...
an op pve-hero would fit rite in place with op pve-only skills and op pve-only consumables

I think we have enough overpowered stuff in PvE as is, honestly : \...

It's a choice snaek. I don't bring Melonni because she's female, I don't bring the other one because..well just because. So I will bring Mox instead when I use a dervish because he's cool. Just like I only use Ogden as a heal monk, Dunkoro just flat out sucks and Talhk is usually my prot monk.
He doesn't need to be special. He's a robot that's good enough for me, it helps when I don't want to play the boring builds everyone else plays because they work and are afraid to lose.

Keep M.O.X as a regular hero is definatly bad IMO, how sad would it be to see a big super hero Golem get spiked and die all the time?
It would be great if M.O.X had some golem unique skills or his Avatar Forms would be stronger or even have different effects.
Although the most obvious thing for a golem would be to have more health and armor.
