Anet has done this exact thing before. It should be obvious by now, that they consider Quarry/Aspenwood "PvE".

meh another event i cant participate, but ive grown used to this. They should stop recycling things and make new events. broad walk event here and there, change an appearance one maybe every 6 months or so etc.

If the weekend doesn't suit you just play normally, don't leave a weekend event dictate what you'll play, It should be an inncentive and thats that.
Makes sense though. Just left a nice ranked gvgld this week (~700) because since i can only play weekends i cnat really make any core hence I play boring Snare/blind ele... there goes a whole lot of faction....

Havn't gotten any real use after the last few weekends either but i don't complain. only ones i'm interested in is Ra/Ta (jsut hit Glad 2) and Ha (so i can at last get my r3 then play with some half competant groups till Gw2) but i know there are more peopel in the gmae then me so they have t ohave a diverse weekend benifits.HB are good but i'm not that great at micro'ing/find it hard t oget better s o i jsut try and tank on the special weekends for faction more then the title, jsut turned into /rolling the nfighting
Oh btw i seriously hope that they never do a hfff weekend..that would just be silly tbh,imo

Many PvP'ers don't parcipitate in the PvE weekends/ don't care for them, and yet you don't see endless QQ threads about those weekends. The fact is that PvE weekends make up about 90% of all the special weekends, with the only proper PvP weekends being Double Fame, champ points, and glad points. That's 3 weekends out of the like, 13 or 14 that they have. Seriously quit QQ over one or 2 weekends you don't like, if you don't like the bonuses in these areas, you're not being forced to play them, just go about doing what you would normally do, like you do every other day of the week.

As a PvE only I think we have to realize that ANET never wanted such a strong PvE community and seems to still try to force (I mean encourage) us to switch to PvP. I say let the PvP's work on their titles.
I will still enjoy the weekend, might run a few dungeons (need the gold, got a craving for more armor).

If you think it's PvP, you're a PvEr, and wouldn't know. Just because there's other players doesn't make it PvP, it makes it competitive PvE.

JQ and FA are simply laidback PvP. Just because they aren't BuildWars doesn't mean they don't involve player combat or competition.
Before the flames start, note that I don't consider JQ, FA or RA immersive PvP content, however by definition they are still casual PvP environments.
