My thoughts on what should be done with heroes can be found here.
Edit: This suggestion would also solve the henchmen skills issue.
And looking at your Hero and Henchmen section, you are simply wanting complicated AI changes (frontline and backline don't really exist, they form a box and melee charge in at aggro... just say "Improve AI, such as with... <list things needing to be put in>," but nothing complicated like formations, pointless to add until the needed things, like the AoE detection, are added)

So we got a thread with a ton of different ideas, a ton of repeats of what we've seen dozens of times... is that even allowed? Or maybe let's add even more random unrelated suggestions to this 1 thread, so the discussion is even harder?
But there's something much worse than just a ton of repeats.
This whole thread is full of poor, bad, terrible or just pointless ideas (and I'm not commenting on those hench bar changes as they're practically 'make my single-player game even easier'). But I can sum it all up with a short: WRONG WAY!
At this point of the game's life we can't expect any major content updates. Instead the task of the devs should be bringing new life to old content and increasing the replayability factor of existing content, when they don't have the resources to release entirely new content that's well worth the effort.
But now read that again and rethink the ton of useless suggestions in this thread: simple adding more armor sets at crafters or "missing" weapons doesn't do any good for the game. That's not content that's worth adding... unless it comes connected with something that will give players something to do for more than a few minutes.
And adding, or even worse, changing existing game features just for the sake of 'completeness' or retroactive equity nonsense is only going to push the game further into...
...One of the biggest problems of Guild Wars, expansions and most of extra content added to it over time was... it was just...
*MORE OF THE SAME*
And a lot of suggestions in this thread would move the whole game straight into the booooring 'more of the same' state.
What I see in this thread is stupidity like:
*Prophecies has craftable gold versions of endgame weapons, so all campagins must have that too!
*Factions has a quest chain ending with capping an unique pet, so all campagins must have a similar one!
*There are scythes and spears dropping in Nightfall/EoTN, so they absolutely have to drop in Proph/Factions too!
*Tomb of Primeval Kings is such an Elite dungeon that it has to give a HoM statue!
*Tormented weapons can be put in HoM, so all campagins must have a special set of HoM'able weapons! or two sets! ...all that with completely ignoring the truly valuable rare weapons already in existance...
...
bleh,
/disgusted
more of the same... kill all variety and uniqueness...
...following this direction, you could demand allowing going back to Pre-Searing (just because you can return to Shing Jea or Istan), or beg for adding creation of Paragons and Dervishes in Factions or Prophecies (with unique looks to those regions and if you own NF ofcourse)... or call for opening a copy of Shing Jea Boardwalk in Kamadan... idiotic.
There are differences between different campagins/ continents/ elite missions/ weapons/ npcs/ etc.. that actually make the game much more interesting, deep and rich. The fact some campagins have things others don't is a great thing.
If everything was made equal, the game world would be an eternal boredom hole. And that way is definately a Wrong Way.
For something different - there are several superobvious 'ideas' presented in this thread for the 50th time, and I can /sign them all for the 50th time... stuff like account-based treasure hunter or adding weapon mod trader or fixing the titan quests or improving hero/hench AI... it's everywhere... if I commented on them all it would take several pages...

That's not change! -audience- That's more of the same! (sorry, had to do that)
What is wrong with gold versions of the endgame weapons of other endgame greens, this way, we can have the skin, and the mods we want. What's wrong with special pets in all campaigns? Nothing, as long as they are different. What's wrong with new weapon types in old campaigns? Nothing, as long as they are new skins. What's wrong with more HoM statues? Nothing. What's wrong with more rare skins? NOTHING.
You are basically saying diversity is wrong and stupid. You are saying that we should ALL look the SAME and we should NEVER look different. You are wanting clones. That I, and many others, do not, cannot, agree with.
/sign for that! And Rits/Assassins in Proph/NF too (all a joke of course)
They are not the same, same idea, different items. Adding more items will not reduce the "uniqueness" if they are different. There are, and will always be, differences between campaigns, such as the leveling rate, professions, etc. etc. So why not have unique pets for Prophecies? for Nightfall? Why not have Assassin/Ritualist/Paragon/Dervish armor in Prophecies? Or Paragon/Dervish armor in Factions? Why shouldn't Prophecies have challenge missions?
Ok, Mr. Ranter, you done? How about you add some ideas.
Is it all more of the same? Only in ideas. In what they actually are, no, they are different. Should there be changes to existing stuff as well as new content? YES. So add them, this thread, until closed by a mod, is for sharing ideas on how to make GW better as a whole. There are no needs for rantings. Yes, these ideas have been offered, yes not many of these ideas are original, but that means that it is something we would enjoy. Yes old content needs fixing, yes there is a need for new content.
Right now, we are listing things that come to mind, you want something? List it. Don't just rant. You're being nothing but a troll, in this case a democratically influenced one.

axazel u win the internets.
ur henchmen change section doesnt work tho. we will be effectively killing them all off and just making them into heros that we can take with us and customize in any way. sorta like the discussion for 7 heros that people are always talking about.

That, Silvermoon, is the purpose really. With heroes, there is little to no needs for henchmen. Those who solo either deal with the stupidity and poor builds (in replacement for some of their sanity), or get a friend/guild mate to join then leave so they have 6 heroes. Those who pug will not be affected in any way. With that idea in the thread I posted, everyone wins, well except ANet because they do the work.
People talk about the 7 heroes, say that they should implement that, I just gave a (rather complicated, but yet affective) way to bring that about along with something to do with the henchmen, and making a flat amount of heroes.

@Azazel The Assassin : You need to get some basic reading comprehension skills if you want to make a decent response post.
In most cases they're already there, just not craftable.
If you actually read my post with understanding, you would see the answer.
More new stuff wouldn't hurt obviously, but there should be A POINT. I'm not opposing new things at all, I only stated what are the wrong reasons and ways for adding them.
You are basically showing you're absolutely terrible at understanding written text - In my whole post I keep saying exactly opposite!
WTF?
Your imagination is taking you too far. You're making up complete BS here, putting complete nonsense I've NEVER said in my mouth.
Absurdly idiotic behavior, only making YOU look stupid, not me.
Oh, and why not a 2nd unique pet quest chain in Factions instead? Seriously, is there a rule somewhere stating that all campagins should be equalized? Or any evidence to show they're 'missing'?
It's the same with pets as with everything else - generally 'more is better', more variety can't hurt, and I'm not saying a big /NO to this, but ... there has to be a point... read further...
It was obvious and officially confirmed at the very beginning (Factions release) that Core classes will have more stuff like for example armor sets. So nobody should feel they're "missing".
While I usually agree that "more is better", at this late stage of the game lifecycle there's really no point. Simply adding more armors to crafters won't really make the game better or bring new life to it.
There has to be a point.
It could be either improving the game's quality - adding missing sets if they were actually missing (while we're at it they should rather replace the crappy placeholder art that is half of the EotN "new" armor sets, so we would really get 40 new sets we paid for.)
Or it could be using new armors as rewards for some gameplay activity - it could be entirely new zones/dungeons/missions/quests or more likely attempts to revitalize existing underplayed content, as a part of the improvements.
Because they're a failed concept. We don't need more fail.
Not in this thread. There are already too many and it's already a huge mess.
If you don't know that yet I should enlighten you - the purpose of this whole Sardelac Sanitarium forum section is making and discussing suggestions on making GW a better game. As a whole, ofcourse.
And that's the reason I'm not adding any specific detailed ideas here, but instead I'm commenting on this thread as a whole and giving my opinion on the general direction the game's development should follow, for the best of it.
/vote for closing this total mess of a thread and moving the discussions of the ideas into 30 separate threads... already existing ones, btw.
Or keep this one only for the hench skillbar discussion.
