Ladder Manipulation/Farming Champion Points
scheme
Recently there have been several guilds I have seen that have been farming champion points by the following method:
They buy several champion-point range guilds, and they go on different accounts have these guilds play each other. However, the lameness does not end there. If they find out that their own guilds are not playing each other, they just exit the game before loading, resulting in the guild not losing any rating (because nobody loaded). I believe this is unacceptable, but I wish to hear the opinions of everyone else in the community.
These are some guilds that are owned that are partaking in this ladder manipulation:
Not Another Reform [NRF]
Idiot Savant [iQ] (not the real [iQ], there is no "s")

The only thing that makes this bad, is the quitting before loading bit, and not losing rating. Aside from that, everyone will know who the farmers are, so it's not like they'll suddenly get into top 5 guilds due to champ rank, or win an mAT...

If there is a system, you know people are going to abuse the sh*t out of it no matter what.
FoxBat
If they do it smartly, they can just win-trade the two champ guilds eternally. They won't ever need to buy any other guilds again.
That seems pretty freaking broken.
That seems pretty freaking broken.

But there IS a limit to how many times you can rated GvG against someone in a 24 hour period, so that would mean they'd need to buy a whole lot of guilds....

Earlier I posted a reply to this thread which was me laughing my heart out at the next level of players EXPLOITING THE GAME MECHANIC to gain advantage over other players. I was laughing because this thread just proof to Arena Net that Synching is getting to become a serious problem and they have to look into it. partly laughing because players stoop so low as to think of syching as an alternative to winning. Partly laughing because this may trigger Arena Net to do something about synching.
It was also partly because the other thread's discussion has already made me suspicious that players actually might/would try to sync in other PvP area. In fact it has been on my mind further then the Random Arena Synching Discussion. I just didn't want to mention it, because if it is not a known "fact", the chances of players imitating the method will be significantly lower since it is not known.
Now I might as well say it. I also suspect HA players to have been synching. Sometime upon entering a HA battle, at the begining, you find there's only one player on the opposing group, appears to be an AFK-er, I say AFK-er, because, prior to this last one leaving, you see another 2 names "has left the game" having only one players left we thought might as well get rid of them, and surprisingly they left also, so we got free win. off course everyone is happy, but THE PROBLEM IS: what was the other group doing? why has they left? Synching immediately came to mind when I stumble upon group that left at the beginning of a Hero's Accent's game a thrid time.
I apologize if I did not explain my ROFLMAO in the previously deleted post, it was with an intent and does have something to do with this thread.
Players sync in Alliance Battle as well if you want to know.
Synching in Guild Wars has become an irritating factor that Arena Net must look into and come up with a good solution. It does not affect me if you think I want to whine, okay, maybe a little, but that's over, I've already abandon Random Arena. I'll only go back to that "Arena" when it is a FAIR Arena.

NEVER... havent all the gw2 QQ threads taught u anything?
OT... sounds like a glitch in the game (leaving and not losing rating). Would be a good way to make money, selling champ points, but it should be killed asap coz champ is like the only title left with prestige attached.

Welcome to 'Title' Wars, I mean Guild Wars.

This has been happening forever. Now it's champion points, back then it was rating itself - sooner or later it will be fixed, only to have a new "exploit" emerge.
Damn am I glad that I retired from the "srs bsns"... There are more foul apples in the pvp basket than ladder manipulation (for rating or champion points) and syncing into RA/HA/AB/...

The reason that the Hero title is so trashy is that people are desperate for the rank, emotes and crystallines. People will try any lame, exploitative method of farming fame and holding HoH.
Now that GvG offers title points, shiny cape trims and subsequent financial prosperity, it is the subject of abuse from greedy people.
I don't want to say that rewards should be removed because the genuine players shouldn't have limitations imposed upon them as a result of 'cheats'. Just do something about guild selling and champ farming.
Those [eF] guys in Kamadan make me puke as they flaunt their bought trim.

corrected that for you ^^
anywho since when do titles show skill or achievement? noobs have also exploited the loop-holes in the game and that will never change...
titles are worthless - quality of the title is in the eye-of-the-beholder ONLY - s(he) is the only one that the title will be impressive to...as every title can now be bought (exception of gamer - long live those sad-acks with nothing better to do....go you) the title will only remain impressive to the person who has rightfully ern't their title...
example being leg guardian for me - never used ursan (even when it was all the craze) that gives me a sense of achievement that I managed it without the cookie-cutter builds....
summing up:
titles are only impressive to the player that ern't them...
so regardless of how broken the system is and how unfare it may seem *cough*! noobs will always exploit things for cheap gain where-as skilled players will NORMALLY earn them!
BIGGEST POINT: there at last...
EVEN IF THESE BAD PLAYERS BUY THERE TITLES (as highlighted in some other posts above this) they will instantly be found out when they apply for a top20 guild...as they will be no-were near good enough for them....
greed and lust won't get them far in a good guild - neither will infitite amounts of cash...

I've been a member of a small group that syncs into DA and Snowball, so if you're trying to say that that's a "respectable" title, you'd be off.
It's probably the most fun title out there though, if that's what you're aiming for.

I doubt anyone who is buying that title is trying to join pvp guilds with it. Notice the service is pretty much offered up to r3, which is HoM requirement. Sounds more like a pve method to get the statue, which is similar to paying people to run elite missions and dungeons for you.
Plus how is this different than rolling is HB, you are just get titles points. waiting for the mass banning caused by that.
I do agree that the failing to load part needs fixing, but as long as it win trading, the risk of getting another guild than the one you synced i think balances it. If you get to many of of those, you sync guild falls out of champ range and becomes worthless.

And nothing prevents then from buying high ranked guild and continuing where they left.

GANK will sync HA by having someone make a randomway that waits at zaishen to sync with their real team.
That NRF guild the OP mentioned definitely exploits getting champ points. i was in that guild for a day but left because it was the worst guild ive ever been in. the leader(the one who bought the guild) was possibly the worst player ive ever witnessed. He banned 6 out of 6 monks that we pugged to HA for 'failing'. i would see no tactics being called by him, just raging. He would literally ban them in a fit of rage the second one person died on our team. i dont remember his name and im not allowed to say, but it sounded like tsunami or something.

If the ladder and rating mattered, this would be a bigger deal.

The difference is the ladder actually meant something back then, whereas now it's 100% irrelevant.

Also, ladder is not 100% irrelevant as it's used as the final tie breaker in Automated tournaments.

Aborting matches with people looking for a straight oldfashioned GvG match affects other people by wasting their time.

It's not the kind of 'affects other players' that really makes a difference. You just have to go into GvG again with no loss. Entering GvG was never a guaranteed solid fight as it was - and the 30 seconds lost entering/leaving the game are inconsequential.

Think of it this way - it's a way to get a title.
It's no less honorable than ENDLESSLY grinding out HFFF runs.
The good players know good players, it's not like a sudden influx of phony R1 and R2 champion-title wearing players is going to hurt anything, but it will increase the envy of their fellow PvE'ers.
They found a way to beat the system, with the resources, time, and patience to do it.
Good for them, what do you care?
For the record, I R-Spiked 6 champ points and have no regrets. DF HONOR

entertainment is entertaining.
hopefully the people that find these loopholes will learn that the very thing they are grinding is losing its e-peen-ness every time they use the exploit, and by the time theyre done they will understand why its better to do it the old fashioned way.
till then, play games to have fun...

I find it refreshing actually.
The time and thought many of the sync teams put into the actual act....makes you wonder why they don't take that ability to the next level..TA, or even GvG.
Until then, enjoy the spectacle, and maybe whoop ass while your up against them.
QQ iz ok in RA...

does anyone remember that top100 gvg guild that sync'd da?
was all on vent and used "pro-tactics"?
went for like wut? 20+hrs straight
and racked up like 500consec victories?
(cant remember teh numbers...but they were ridiculous)
anyways, i never really thought much of the champ title
if its against teh rules, then ban
if not...then i only really care as much bout ppl buyin fame or zrank
if i need to kno who a good player is...
i watch em on obs mode or play against em
(in both cases, u cannot see their title)

The simple solution is to remove the count down timer from the screen. Just put up a "buff" or "enchantment" called "You are in queue." And it just loads you when it does. This way players have no idea of when they'll load into the pvp and won't have any way to abuse the system.

In these cases it is. The guilds ladder maniping like this are likely not able to get into a situation where a tie-breaker is necisarry.

erm, who cares?
So let them farm champ points by playing each other, it doesn't affect anyone else. It could have been a problem because it screws up the ladder, but with the AT system no one cares about ladder anymore.
