Title update??

Titles are just labels for people to feel better about themselves: it's always nice to have something to show for what you've done, a sense of completeness. However I'm sure we've all come across players who looked nothing special on the surface but who played darn well, as well as players who had all the fancy kit and 'leet' titles and played like complete muppets!
I remember a few old guildies who became obsessed with the elite skill titles and just had to get them, even though it was obviously such a chore for them.. 'wasn't long before they just got fed up with it all and went off to.. uhm.. well, another game we've all heard of which from what I've heard is (also?) a grindfest... dunno if they're still there..
I'm glad to see others agree that titles weren't the best thing since sliced bread (though not as bad as 'How can we Make them play the game again?' IMO), but I suppose I have to agree at least partially with a previous poster who said that titles probably did keep a lot of players playing.. For me though, I find that trying to just 'get everything done' - not titles necessarily, just.. as someone above said 'for completion' - with a character from each profession keeps me busy enough. I guess I'm a dabbler, so as a result I'd be laughed out of any 'leet party' <sobs uncontrollably> ; but doing what I feel like doing gives me a broad smattering of the game, and keeps it interesting and enjoyable: Jack of all trades, master of none I suppose. I play because I enjoy it, and I'll be darned if I'm going to spend hours doing something that's tedious just so that I can get a title that doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at that particular thing..
So yeah, I think this apparent change in a couple of titles is a good thing. It'll save people from messing about swapping things from one character to another, and may tempt some people to use chests more.. It's something slightly different and might help keep a few more players interested, so can't hurt. I feel a bit sorry for the Faction Farmers who've put so much work into their titles, if that's changing too, but I find AB fun, so doesn't make much difference really.. though I suppose I might feel different if I had a high faction title.. <ponder>

And yet a lot of players quit the game right after getting GWAMM as they feel as they have "accomplished" what they needed to in the game. Kinda ironic.
And ya I would rather do the same elite areas over and over again in a cooperative gameplay with a team of guildies, than to go afk in a ring, or run around maps hugging walls, or set a macro to use alcohol while Im afk, or buy unided gold and id it, or waste millions on Zkeys, or do the same HFFF run 20k+ times...etc Need I continue? |

So I think the argument of accomplishments in titling is more or less based on if they were achieved in an enjoyable way (note Im talking mainly about Vanqs and Missions). Plus, the people that quit right after GWAMM are probably just in it for GW2...
That might have been jumbled up in a weird way, as I was slapping pieces of ideas together.
