City of the Chronomancers?
Issac
Maybe the Asurans made it lol.

I hear the distant ticking of Utopia. Chronomancers and time manipulation I'd say.

Man, if that was from Utopia, I'm really pissed at ArenaNet for not pumping said expansion out, because that is just about the most badass looking city I have ever seen.

Thats very cool. Weird though, dosen't match anything in the lore for GW that I can remember. It does seem likely it might be either "Utopia" Lost or concept for GW 2 which I think may be more likely (250 years in the future). Though the city cant actully move though the bridges between Cog's look static.

It's totally the GW style...maybe it was for Utopia and instead we'll maybe see something like it in Aion?
Free Runner
Its called the "Hub of Time". I found it on a site that had mixed artwork of EotN and GW2.
Molock
That's what I am thinking. Its probably some old Utopia concept art
Because keeping GW2 secret is very important to anet. Letting us fans see what they are doing could be catastrophic so they pretend they don't hav anything to say

rather odd, but impresive non the less, if the gears represent a clock which would represent time, and with what looks like cantha at the lower part then maybe it represents cantha in the future, however a do see a few factories in the picture which in my opinion would rule out the asura, and leads me to belive charr, however cantha and charr haveing nothing to do with each other at all as far as i am aware,
but more likely the gears represent change, which would be with the rest off the world in gw, however if cantha becomes isolated that could explain why they are not on a gear, and each of the gears represents a different race, however that is a long shot

DarkNecrid
That's the City of Orr.
EDIT:
I'm kidding for those who couldn't figure it out, tho it could be a possibility, I doubt Orr is shaped like cogs.

Mechanus?
(No, of course it isn't. But I'd damn near sell my mother for an MMO set in the Planescape universe, so let me dream!)

It's old artwork, that surfaced just before GW:EN. It seems to be related to the "chronomancer" (not sure if the term was coined here) theme that we'll never see in GW1. Loot at Ten Ton Hammer, they've got tons of awesome artwork:

Unfortunately, quite a lot of the interesting artworks get an Error 400. There's a nice youtube video showing quite a lot:

Last, but not the least (I found it the richest source of GW artwork), threads on the concepart.org forum:

On a somewhat related info, check the blog where Anet employees share their personal artwork, it's a great example of the creative mindset of this company:

And also Daniel Dociu's website:

It looks amazing, i never quite understood how Chronomancers would fit in to the Guild wars universe, but I'd really quite like to see after looking at this. Let's hope for GW2? haha.
HawkofStorms
It doesn't really fit in with the rest of the "jungle" theme we saw for Utopia, though the "hub of time" thing sorta makes sense. Makes me think this must have been like some Gate of Pain type of thing that existed in another dimension.

Just received a link from some random stranger containing what seems to be mostly used and unused concept art ranging from Utopia/GWEN to NF and beyond.

Holy crap that's amazing.
I really hope we will see this city in GW2.
This is like 100 times better than all capital cities in terms of awesomeness.

I wonder if those "Possessed" are the 2nd profession of Utopia.
From the pictures maybe they used some kind of profession switching mechanic?

Unused Concept Art for GW2? Cool picture not sure if it fits the current GW theme but maybe in GW2 it is a normal place. It would be cool to run up to it from afar.
MisterT69
Very interesting concept, and it works very well with using campaigns. Each campaign would unlock a different "cog" on this map. Really would love to see what A-net is really doing and if they are implementing this sort of cog city idea.
Dr.Jones
its been said on a lot of the anet talk pages on the wikis that a lot of the guildwars concept artist do a lot of work out side of work. that could be one of those pices.
FoxBat
It says Guild Wars/Arena Net on the page. It may not have been concept work for any particular Anet game, but it definitely counts as paid work done for Anet pay, else they wouldn't get to slap their name on it.
Operative 14
It looks like something leftover from Utopia, but it also looks like something they could make into the Asuran capital for GW2.
pamelf
That is some really impressive art. I hope it gets utilized in the future. It would be a shame to have those ideas go to waste.

Quite amazing art, it doesnt really seem to be very relevant to the current times of gw, but that said I could easily see the Asurans + 300 years or whatever the timeframe for gw2 is to have made a city like this. If this somehow worked into gw1, as an expansion, it would almost have to be another civilization/race as none of the current races have possessed enough technology to produce something like this as viewed by the current cities/campaigns.
Either way, amazing artwork and could be a boon for the future or a wistful look at what could have been
