Impossible to complete Kurz title anymore!
The Dark of Fortune
Anet said that they will make the kurz title easier. but now after the FFF\HFFF nerf its impossible to finish the Kurzick title! the easiet way is to complete 90 times the Shiro's Handbook[HM] ....wtf?
Arduin
I'd rather kill Shiro 90 times than HFFF for 25.000 times.

[email protected] nerf. It was the perfect way to nerf something without changing any game mechanics. Maybe now you can earn the title without abusing exploits.
I could care less about HFFF though. For people who DON'T feel like clicking the same spots on the mini map forever, the updated faction earnings are awesome.
For people who refuse to adapt and learn new things, it's terrible.

Let's analyze Cantha in HM. We'll use Expert level as it's probably a more accurate representation of an average run through the campaign. With all Expert's rewards times added up for the 11 missions, you've got 354 minutes or almost 6 hours. Note that this is a VERY conservative estimate, especially considering by the 3rd or 4th time through you'll more than likely be hammering down Master's or well under Master's on every timed mission, so 4.5-6 hours for 120,000 Faction. The latter is comparable to HFFF. The former, which is quite attainable, is 33% quicker than HFFF (~26.6k/hr vs. ~20k/hr).
To go from 0 K/L faction to max title, you'd need 83.3 books, and since odds are nobody is starting from absolute 0, we'll say 83 books for max. 83 books at the lower (but again, still quite possible) time of 4.5 hours = 373.5 hours or 15.6 full days to achieve max. Proportionalities spawn from that, i.e. 12 hour days would take 31.2 "days," etc. Cash wise, you're nowhere near HFFF (498k for 83 full HM books, 1.86M for zero-to-max HFFF) from books, but merch food, IDs, chests, etc., will help to shrink that gap. Assuming you make only 4k from doing all of the missions in NM (I made about 3k from doing 9/11 tonight, so again this is rather conservative even for NM), you've got another 332k notwithstanding progress on other titles such as TH/W or the chance to get rares/items above merch price or even sell 7 golds at 5k or whatever the going rate is. To be as money-effective as HFFF, playing through the campaign each time would have to average 16.6k net profit. While it seems steep, 83 times through of opening chests and killing thousands of foes in HM yields high likelihood of rare weapons. At the very least I'd guess you can make 8k once through these missions in HM consistently, leaving you some 600k short of HFFF. Realistically, this isn't a *terrible* loss of consistent income of money and faction. I hope this was easy to understand, typed it late at night after investigating the changes and thinking over how this affects my title pursuits. |

Repeating 11 missions 90 times is nothing but grind. You're not abusing an exploit now, but that's still an insane ammount of grinding.

I agree, filling books is way more entertaining, yet I don't see how the new system is supposed to reduce grind.

No-one says you need to complete all those missions 90 times.
This update brought us options, instead of HFFF being the only fast Factions booster.

Vanquishing is the way to go. Find an area you fancy, find a good build for it and bang! 20,000+ faction a pop, a good deal more for large areas with many bosses.

Yesterday I won 2,500 faction for a quick win in FA, then 2,500 for JQ. That's not counting the faction per kill. That's a VERY nice and fun way to get the title.
Now imagine double FA/JQ weekends, 5,000 per win.
Same goes for double faction donation weekends, if we get one again it will be awesome with the new gains.

I'm not gonna AB anymore, I've been ABing so much it makes me sick now. So, what's left for people like me? Vanquishing. Vanquishing AGAIN. Or grinding books. Or giving up with this title
Books could have been the most viable and welcomed solution form me. Still, I'm not gonna play HM Factions 40 times now.

These changes are great! HFFF should have been nerfed a long time ago standing outside a city and pinging your heroes is not playing gw.

Yeah right. Shame all my 14 character have gone through Factions from beginning to end. Had the books been retroactive, fine, I would have paid to get one book filled and then I would have started over... But they aren't, because devs "are worried about economy". Well, thanks to whoever decided we shall also get money by giving books in.

I think this update makes it realistic for the dedicated player to achieve max rank in a reasonable amount of time with a reasonable amount of effort.
If repeating the same quest and exploiting a bug was the ONLY way to achieve max rank in a reasonable amount of time, wouldnt that be super-lame?

Who are you to dictate what is playing GW and what isn't. You might not like standing outside a city and pinging your heroes but, others might like doing it, therefore they are playing GW how they want, not how someone else THINKS it should be played.
Shadowhaze
Well I used to Hfff fairly often and only for myself. Been doing a lot of AB lately since it's more entertaining. Guess I'm going to finally have to break down and get the BMP...

stop moaning, its brought some life back into the game, more people doing mission. now people will play the game properly

I respectfully disagree:
1. Urzog's Warren, with a compentent group will net you in excess of 12K faction in about an hour.
2. Vanquishing Ferndale, I netted over 18K faction in 57 minutes!
Yeah, they nerfed HFFF runs. So What? They did it NOT to make getting the titles harder, but to put a crimp in the gold farming bots.
[Morkai]
ONOZ impossible title! World is ending! Sky is falling! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

While I have raised cane about this change I do like it, I will miss the HFFF because I will no longer have a simple activity I can do for a few minutes a day when I have some time to kill. Unlike spending half and hour to an hour doing missions.
For me this is a plus because I have only taken a few of my characters through Factions and only one all the way through. This will give me a reason to take all of them through now. More of a reward than just a single green item for completing the chapters is a motivator for me to do so now. Not that into greens I like to craft my own weapons to suit my needs. The major improvement to aiding me with Faction, SS and LB titles is a huge plus. Also give me an incentive to vanquish this stuff in hard mode.

Getting Luxon and Kurzick titles after the update became a lot harder.
But it also became a lot less repetitive and stupid.
Considering how the current ways of obtaining the most faction might rely on you actually doing something that tests your skill, those who aren't as good at the game will take longer to complete the title than others, which is probably how it should have been rather than who can button mash and flag the quickest and timeliest.

Its a lot better this way imo FFF is dead! everyone who does it is a unbeliveable tool anyways ;p

NOTHING has changed with the update.
With HFFF you needed 400 hours planting flags.
Now, according to the math someone posted, you need 375 hours doing 83 times each Factions mission.
You can also vanquish, but the amount of time is roughly the same.
In conclusion, if you aim at max rank (which maybe you want for your gwamm character), you have to repeat the whole campaign 83 times (LOL) or vanquish the most profitable area hundreds and hundreds of times.
A.net spend a lot of time and work for this update, but they failed to address the real issue of those titles.
(Just to avoid flames, I already have r12 Kurzick, obtained wasting 400 hours in HFFF. Ah, and Gwamm too ... )

i think it's great, it's an opporunity to bring new chars through the mission, or help others (guildies etc) on existing chars and getting rewarded. Plus with the vanquishing bonuses, it's much more varied. do some books, vanq, ab. get a new character through cantha.
personally i'm trying to decide where to vanq this weekend, vabbi or the forest lol! and i usually go "meh" at vanq weekends

The point of the update is options. You now have many ways to gain faction which makes the process a hell of a lot less tedious. Yes some are more profitable but at least now you can go off and do something else and still being adding to your faction.

I did the hfff runs. But let me tell you, I hated it. For this reason I only got to r5. I would rather nail my p.... to a tree. Or stab my eyes out with a fork than do that hfff run that much to max the title. So I am glad they gave us way more options maxing this title now. I will vanquish again. On another character now. I was gonna do that. But now I have a reason to do it. This is much better than the hfff. Thank you Linsey. The new options are, in the words of the immortal Tony the Tiger, "They're G-r-r-r-eat"!

Good teams are doing this now in 20mins or under. That comes to alot faster than the old Kurz HFFF.

Nooo! It's impossible because they removed all possible ways to get or donate faction!
Wait.... no they didn't, they made more ways to get faction and raised the cap. So I'm confused, what's all the complaining about? Oh yea, no more free money and survivor titles.
