That is what my guild leader said he is a big PvP fan
That's just a variation of the same old tired bullshit PvP only guys always spout. They don't like PvE, so naturally noone else can either.

Personally I don't like PvP, so obviously only 13 year olds play PvP.

23, i'm just over 500 hours in to the game and have played about 20 PvP games, the PvE is great fun for all ages, your guild master in a twonk.

It never interested me till the spangly observer mode came out and showed me the GvG matches and now i plan on getting in to it with my Monk and Ranger.

Answer?
No, not only 13 year olds play the game.

Story from chris_nin00?...
Yes

Gather around young ones, middle aged ones, and undisclosed ones. Gather around!
Now this tale I'm about to tell you guys is a true story with a moral attached to it. See if you can figure it out.
So sit back, grab a snack, listen to the wondrous story telling of chris_nin00

*Story time*
Once upon a time, there was a boy named chris_nin00. People called him Chris because they don't want to call him a 'ninny' or a 00 agent. He thought very highly of himself and always strived for perfection. Today however he wanted to beat a kid up. Yes, you read right. He wanted to beat a kid up. He was so happy walking along the sidewalk of the park. You want to know why kids?
*You nod your head furiously while someone in the back screams, "eeee-YEA--UH!"*
His 14th birthday had just passed and he got lots of good and fun things from friends and family. He got underwear, boxers, movies, and games, big model toy sets and a remote controlled plane. But he can recall, his most favorite gift of all!!!
Chris breaks in to song...
"Yu-gi-oh! I'm gonna master the cards
Gonna use the heart of the cards..."
On and on he went singing. Until...
"I'll challenge you pipsqueak!" squeals a 9-year-old looking boy, "Yu-gi-oh! Right here right now!"
"It was one of my little brother's friends," thought Chris, "Now's my chance to beat someone up easily... with my Yu-Gi-Oh cards!"
Chris thought this was going to be easy. Think again Chris. Think again.

"I'll start off by summoning, BLUE-EYES-WHITE-DRAGON!!!" Yells the boy.
Blue light flashed everywhere, a roar was heard, and soon Chris was on the ground shocked.
A big dragon stood in front of Chris.
"Your move," says the boy, forebodingly.
Chris gets back up and brushes the dust off. "I can handle this," Chris says to himself, "He's just a little boy"
*Battle scene*
Blah
*End Battle Scene*
The 9 year old screams with delight as he takes Chris's Dark Magician Card.
"See you later sucker!" smirks the boy as he walks away.
The shock on Chris is immense.
"I think there is a moral to this," says Chris, "... I don't get it"...
*End Story time*

Did you kids like my story telling?
The moral of the story is...
I think you are smart enough to infere from it my young ones.
Hint: The Guild leader was Chris! Not me, but Chris in the story!

I hope that lightens up a few things.

They did a survey about the avarage gameplayer, the link to that is floating around these forums somewhere.... i lost it

But what it came down to:
-the average gamer is 30
-45% of the gamers is female
-average game buyers are 37 or something
and 7 more facts

Edit: not a forum survey, but a scientific one

I'm also 15.. I love PvE!

My 10 year old cousin just got the game.. PvP is all he does. I think that the 'winning obsessed players' are INDEED the younger ones. My Lil cousin gets so angry when he loses.. He acts like the OTHER PvP players as well.

Personally, I enjoy PvE because after you kill a Charr, there's no backtalkin'. It's just dead. It's not dead with a grudge.. it doesn't target you next time around cuz you killed it so quick and embarrassed it.. it doesn't call ya names, and it probably enjoys playing, as it IS a GAME, more than vs. other players.

Sorry, but my PvP experiences have been quite negative. I go in to win, but if I don't win I try to learn from my mistakes, watch other players and try to make myself better. The folks I've done PvP with apparently play XBOX waaay too much, they make it sooo personal. Take the fun right out of it for me.

And yeah... 36 year old female here. My sis plays also, and she's 42

31, PvE only, except for 2-3 games of Snowball Arena. Yeah, it took a snowball fight for me to get interested, if only for a short time, in PvP.

More age stats, courtesy the Daedalus Project.

No, many people PvE. Lots of people in my guild PvE.

I am 31. I have over 1,300 hours of game time in GW in the past 7 months. I have a monk with 2 million xp and an elementalist with 1 million xp and a warrior with 300k xp, so you can say that I like PvE.

I also PvP every day either in Tombs, TA, CA or GvG.

To those that say PvP > PvE or PvE > PvP, it's a matter of preference. Try both. To those that say PvE sucks I suggest to go for more of a challenge, do UW, FoW, Sorrow's Furnance or try solo farming. I personally had great fun running people around, try running the entire world map from ascalon to bloodstone fen in less than 1 hour.

If I want real, even-footing PvP, I go to any modern FPS (Quake4, CS, FEAR, UT2004+, etc...) with real-world physics simulations.

RPG PVP tends to be more about who has more hit points, XP's, etc... however, the trend is usually "who sank more time into developing their toon to get the better gear." It's not about challenging opponents on even footing... it's about who starts with the bigger numbers.

I prefer going into an arena with skills, not stats, winning a duel.

As a result, I play GW for the PvE and social/cooperative elements, and first-person-shooters for real-time, fast-paced PvP.

Disclaimer: I'm 30+ years old and make a hefty salary. Many of my toys run into the 4-5 figure range

How old is your guild leader, 100? Maybe he just had a bad experience in PVE and he does'nt want to see it ever again, and denies it's his son. I personally like both PVE and PVP, but the downside to PVE I say is it's not changing and as challenging as facing an opponent that screams when he dies or stuff.

I'm 20 and don't play much PvP, just don't care for it right now. I play PvE all the time though.

People always think young means childish, which is so lame. And probably everyone in here will say "I'd never judge someone by age", but I can't believe you. I'm 14, and everwhere I've told my age (which I'd rather not anymore) people don't take me serious. When they ask my age (which is a lame question anyway, if you'd ask me) they always try to stop the conversation as soon as I tell I'm 14.

And that guild leader doesn't know what he's saying, I know alot of older GW players that don't like PVP that much, just like me.

I like PVP alot, but getting a decent group in tombs and not being rank 3 yet i find it very time consuming. I like CA because its instant action and good for testing stuff, but you end up with noobs most of the time (who dont res).

as for PVE, it's all a fashion show and about how wealthy you are (in my opinion) and id say PVE is where you make most of your friends.

IM 50/50 in PVE AND PVP i like them both as much, ive unlocked all stuff for PVP and done completed PVE but this game doesent get boring.. im 18 and need a job, GG.

I can count five people I know personally that play this game. The ages range from 27 - 60. All of us PVE lovers. We've all done some PVP, but just don't care for it too much.

I also know some pvpers in my guild that despise I'm quite happy in the pve arena. I don't know why, but it seems pvpers that I've come across try to make you feel guilty for not helping them have their fun. I'm primary monk. I monk at least half the time I game. Being a monk in pvp is no fun for me. lol Something about being the first target and all.

Me too, exact same age -- 59. Only difference is that I do play PvP. But I was once in a guild -- a pretty good one -- with a 10-year-old leader.

I don't think age makes much difference and - maybe because of growing up in an era when sex, drugs and rock and roll were the main support systems - even my reflexes seem OK (either that or my mind has failed to such a degree that I believe that despite evidence to the contrary).

step back a moment and look at somthing very obvious.

there is this very large playground (soon to double in size) and here and there are a few very small sandboxes for the pvp elitists to fight it out in.

TGH site is dedicated to PVP and it has gone down the tubes steadily

the pve sites seem to be growing

your conclusion?

It's true, only 13 year olds play PvP.

I mean I've been playing GW since it came out but only since December 6 have I started playing PvP when I turned 13. I hope I can play PvP a lot as I wont be able to next year.
