Tonic comes out the same time the monthly update + rewards points come. Which is 2 weeks after the mATS. 2nd week of each month.

They do their main build releases on thursday so it was probably a bug or exploit fix.

Still no notes from one of the last updates they had.

Gotta love the 3 latest stealth updates. Makes me think there are serious issues being worked out that they don't want the general public to know about.

No one knows as of yet.

We have not made enough sacrifical offerings to the dev-err gods(!) for them to grace us with update notes. Quick! Trash your minipets!

I'd laugh if it hits SF too

actually every monthly tonic has come out on the first week on each month, or within 10 days. and its always on a thursday, with the exception of one month it was wednesday. with the time so close to the midnight and it almost being the 6th, maybe its a timed thing and wont start dropping until the 6th PST.

tonics always come out on the 2nd thursday of the month, at least the last many months it has.

Instead of asking Anet to nerf VoR, why not ask your monk to remove the hex?

november it came out on the first thursday, october was the second.

"In the first scheduled update of every month, one new flavor of the ever-popular transmogrifier tonics will be added to the Zaishen Chest, replacing the tonic from the month before."

that is straight from their site, THE FIRST SCHEDULED UPDATE OF THE MONTH.

Using your logic, hexes can no longer be overpowered because they can be removed. Also removing VoR becomes a lot harder when the monk has VoR and Backfire on them, Empathy on your frontline and your veils accidentally remove Wastrel's instead of the hex you wanted. Fast casting also makes it moderately harder to interrupt.

Funny you mentioned that, because I heard in game chat just yesterday that both SF and Cry Of Pain are next on Issy's chopping block. This would be SOP for Anet because their track record has shown that anything that makes the game easier or more fun than they think it should be gets taken away in one form or another.

Because their team has other hexes too, and you have typically 1 or 2 veils and possibly a spotless.

Better to keep your warriors/ranger clean so you can actually kill/interupt stuff and just spirit bond it until you run out of energy or manage to get it shutdown.

Because [Purge Signet] removes all their energy and is the the only way to get through WW, and Backfire safely?

Sorry, forgot the monk wasn't hexed with [wail of doom][backfire][diversion], and that my own personal hex stack is [visions of regret][empathy][faintheartedness][parasitic bond]

I do believe the common hex used over Parasitic is Defile Defenses. I think you're talking about TA anyway, really can't be bothered reading.

Actually I haven't seen the "Don't get hacked" announcement on the login screen til today. Might have missed it though. When did it replace the "Account security bla" message?

Bolded the important part. Yes this was the "FIRST" update of the month, but it wasn't the first "SCHEDULED" update. It was a small update that occured and was probablly thrown together at the last second to fix some minor bug or optimize the server code.

Seriously, people need to stop finding new ways to whine about EVERYTHING.

It's just a small, insignificant update. Don't worry about it.

35 files isn't that small. Bug fixes are usually 1 or 2 files... not 35.

This, 35 is actually a fairly large update by Guild Wars standards. Once you hit 100 files you're already at game changing updates like introductions of new skills. IIRC, most monthly updates aren't even more than 10-20 files.

You know that anet tends to preload files way before big updates to ease load on server, right?

This would mean they preload files all the time. That would explain my constant 300ms ping, while games like City of Heroes/Warhammer have much lower ping. Not to mention all the FPS games, but they don't use bandwidth as much as MMOs.

Well, everyone knows that the unit of change in a 3.5Go Gw.dat "file" is a set of "files" evenly distributed such that you can rate an update according to the number of "files". I mean, you know, the programming behing GW is fairly simple, collate together a bunch of .so, .data and .jpg that everyone can understand immediatly from how the game is played and you're done. (note to self: don't push the sarcasm too far; you should fight the Guru effect that's making you so cynical)

I imagine (I say "imagine" because this could never happen) a dev looking at comments like these and thinking "how could they say things like that?".

zwei2stein: I actually noticed pre-loading only a few months back (I always -image my game before loading it), is this something they've been doing long before?

Looking how many files are added when GW is updated, probably.

Instead of asking for a nerf to VoR why not do something more logical.

There are hundreds of hexes some very painful in this game.

There are a few handfuls of hex removal, all with mildly high recharge in comparison.

Soooo, instead of nerfing one of those hexes why not buff hex removal? Naw...that would be too logical...then you cant complain about WoD in the next topic...crap.

The fact that I always do -image when ever there's an update, and with 2 PC's running GW, I know when there's an update, so I specifically looked to see how many files were being updated.

If I did -image last update, and when this update roll around and it tells me there's 35 files to download, I fairly sure that I can state with fairly good authority that there was around 35 files in the update (and certainly not the normal 1 or 2 files for a bug fix update).

Please stop assuming everyone who plays GW is a retard.
