New build today?
Horace Slughorn
Hey ya'll,
It's about 9pm (est) here and I just got the "new build" message. Checked wiki and gw.com, didnt say anything. Anyone know what this may be?

They do their main build releases on thursday so it was probably a bug or exploit fix.
Masseur
Still no notes from one of the last updates they had.

Gotta love the 3 latest stealth updates. Makes me think there are serious issues being worked out that they don't want the general public to know about.

Heard form Alliance chat, another cons stealth nerf
Grails of Might no longer give +1 to skills.
Edit: tested, not true, like i said, i heard from alliance chat, reminds me that i should keep it off.

actually every monthly tonic has come out on the first week on each month, or within 10 days. and its always on a thursday, with the exception of one month it was wednesday. with the time so close to the midnight and it almost being the 6th, maybe its a timed thing and wont start dropping until the 6th PST.
Masseur
tonics always come out on the 2nd thursday of the month, at least the last many months it has.
Winterclaw
Instead of asking Anet to nerf VoR, why not ask your monk to remove the hex?
Crunk N Monkey
november it came out on the first thursday, october was the second.
"In the first scheduled update of every month, one new flavor of the ever-popular transmogrifier tonics will be added to the Zaishen Chest, replacing the tonic from the month before."
that is straight from their site, THE FIRST SCHEDULED UPDATE OF THE MONTH.

Using your logic, hexes can no longer be overpowered because they can be removed. Also removing VoR becomes a lot harder when the monk has VoR and Backfire on them, Empathy on your frontline and your veils accidentally remove Wastrel's instead of the hex you wanted. Fast casting also makes it moderately harder to interrupt.
Cobalt
Funny you mentioned that, because I heard in game chat just yesterday that both SF and Cry Of Pain are next on Issy's chopping block. This would be SOP for Anet because their track record has shown that anything that makes the game easier or more fun than they think it should be gets taken away in one form or another.

Better to keep your warriors/ranger clean so you can actually kill/interupt stuff and just spirit bond it until you run out of energy or manage to get it shutdown.

I do believe the common hex used over Parasitic is Defile Defenses. I think you're talking about TA anyway, really can't be bothered reading.

Actually I haven't seen the "Don't get hacked" announcement on the login screen til today. Might have missed it though. When did it replace the "Account security bla" message?

Seriously, people need to stop finding new ways to whine about EVERYTHING.
Owik Gall
It's just a small, insignificant update. Don't worry about it.
Anon-e-mouse
35 files isn't that small. Bug fixes are usually 1 or 2 files... not 35.
HawkofStorms
Darmikau
This, 35 is actually a fairly large update by Guild Wars standards. Once you hit 100 files you're already at game changing updates like introductions of new skills. IIRC, most monthly updates aren't even more than 10-20 files.
zwei2stein
You know that anet tends to preload files way before big updates to ease load on server, right?
Abedeus
This would mean they preload files all the time. That would explain my constant 300ms ping, while games like City of Heroes/Warhammer have much lower ping. Not to mention all the FPS games, but they don't use bandwidth as much as MMOs.

I imagine (I say "imagine" because this could never happen) a dev looking at comments like these and thinking "how could they say things like that?".
zwei2stein: I actually noticed pre-loading only a few months back (I always -image my game before loading it), is this something they've been doing long before?

There are hundreds of hexes some very painful in this game.
There are a few handfuls of hex removal, all with mildly high recharge in comparison.
Soooo, instead of nerfing one of those hexes why not buff hex removal? Naw...that would be too logical...then you cant complain about WoD in the next topic...crap.

If I did -image last update, and when this update roll around and it tells me there's 35 files to download, I fairly sure that I can state with fairly good authority that there was around 35 files in the update (and certainly not the normal 1 or 2 files for a bug fix update).
Please stop assuming everyone who plays GW is a retard.
