Stage #3 Finalists (CONGRATULATIONS!!!!)-the numbers in the brackets are the post numbers in this thread; for easier reference)
- Tramp (21)
- Dr Imperial (28)
- Tyrael Eveningsong (155)
Each person won for a very different reason. One of the key criterias I decided to establish was a clear identity of the person who would be receiving the reward. If you didn't name names, I decided to not weigh the entry as heavily.
@ Tramp: Thanks for your passionate public (and private) appeal on the good nature of some people, and defending those who both need and deserve something. I'm glad that there are other well-off people who see that money is not everything, and that people deserve a share of the goodness that is out there.
@ Imp: Not only was I amused by your entry, I empathized with it. I've had a handful of friends in Guild Wars who have, through thick and thin, sane & insane, mature and childish, put up with me, my goals and everything else under the sun. I'd also like to thank you for your honesty; this is one of the things that helped reassure me that you are genuine in your intentions. I noticed that you kept track and edited your post with how many materials you needed for FoW armor.
@ Tyrael: You and I have a small history together! I believe I first met you on my secondary account; maybe you were buying Red Iris Flowers? Or something else of the sort. Anyways, like Massiva Impulsa mentioned, your entry is a good one. The value of true friends is not something that one can put a price on, yet it seems like we can never give or do enough to thank them. I'm so glad for you that you have these people in your life. You seem like a very gracious and humble person.
Breakdown of prizes:
~ approximately 475k/100e value (in cash, ecto, etc.) per finalist.
~ about another 500k total to certain non-finalists.
TOTAL PRIZES: about 2 million platinum.
@ Scarn, Haxor & Alexander Burn Victim: I'm thanking you each for your entries; had I not known you guys OR the person you were writing about, I may have selected you. I opted to be a bit more objective in my selections. I <3 Scarn, Jayne & Erin are amazing women, and I really adore Mystic Elentari. There may be something more private in store for you guys. <3333
To all others: I'm sorry that I couldn't pick all of you to win. If I had enough wealth to give everyone on the shortlist 100 ectos, I would. You are all quite inspiring people, and I'm glad that you have let others into your lives! Some of you may be receiving unexpected contact from me for prizes, even if your name is not listed as a finalist.
As for the person who tried to scam me out of 300e in my last big giveaway, you shouldn't have bothered entering this one... or any future ones.
Thanks to all who participated. I hope your Christmas was smashing, and I hope you all bring down tha house with a crazy and amazing new years celebration!!! I hope that 2009 brings you good fortune.
ENTRIES ARE CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY NEW CONTENT. ANY EDITED ENTRIES PAST THIS POINT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
Normally I do monthly giveaways on GWG, but this month is special; it’s the holiday season, whatever that may mean to you. For the sake of my interests, this is a Christmas Giveaway. It won’t be a giveaway of a typical fashion, though.
The purpose of this giveaway is to celebrate people you respect, admire and have come to really like in the time you have played Guild Wars. Through giving thanks to someone special, a reward may be in store for you. This reward would be something you’d put on your “GW X-Mas List” and like a good Santa, if you’ve been nice, I just may grant it. I believe that a good measure of a person is to see how grateful and inspired they allow themselves to be by someone special.
In the spirit of giving, I aim to try and remind people of the good done for them by just having a friend. There’s too much cynicism and antagonism because of this anonymous little bubble we co-exist in. Let the Christmas spirit begin!
How will this work?
• The total value of rewards is 300 ecto. I have not yet decided if I will reward this to just one person. It may be split between 2 or 3 people, depending on how inspired I am.
• Your wish list may comprise of items adding up to 300e, or you may just request any number of ecto up to 300e.
• Following your wish-list (in the same post), tell me about someone special you have met in GW, and have made your time in GW better. You may do this in any number of ways, like a poem, story, or just a description of this person. The content may be whatever you wish… as long as you are telling me about this person and how they have changed/helped you!
Please meet these requirements:
• To avoid multiple entries, you must (Please be aware of these rules!): o Have been registered on these forums for at least 4 months.
o Have at least 50 posts (if you have the title Pre-Searing Cadet or Ascalonian Squire, you are not eligible).
• I’d like if you still actively played the game. There’s no point in going for this money if you don’t play. Please give others a chance.
• Please do not privately submit entries to me, just reply to this thread.
• Identify their IGN & forum names if they are a user here. This will increase your chances of winning if there’s some proof that this person actually exists.
Other details…
• I don’t play the game anymore, so any attempts to contact me in game will most likely be failed attempts.
• I’d ask that you not make this into a discussion thread. I’d hate to close it down, but too much feedback of any sort will result in me locking this thread. Any questions, comments or concerns can be PMed to me.
• The winner(s) will be announced shortly after December 25th, but before the new year.
• Please keep the holiday spirit in mind. I want this thread to be warm and fuzzy, not bitchy and moany!
• If your guild has forums or some other outside method of communication, feel free to post this link and get your guild mates involved!
Lastly, I want to thank the people who have inspired me to keep giving back to both my friends and the community. I’ve been in very few guilds in my time in this game, and the first long-term one will always stick with me. Xen of Onslaught, through excellency and controversy has always provided me with one consistent thing: amazing quality of person, and quality of player. To Billiard, Ruud, “The Prince,” and the rest of the Xen of Onslaught [XoO] community that I was once a part of, thank you for inspiring me to give back. Long live Reign of Xen/Xen of Heroes!
-Jenn

This is a Poem i wrote for the love of my life ( im 29 ). i met her in LA dis 1 asking for ppl to do the villany quest, then she joined my team and we started talking. Then she told me that she lived in a town very nearly mine, we did some quests together and chatted alot, then we started meeting each other. in town and such, then for 4 month ago i wrote thise poem for her:
all evening he waited
anxiously eyeing the clock
retracing his steps
over and over
counting the minutes
until her arrival
kneeling before a crackling fire
adding another log
he rose to check again
his preparations for tonight
the thick sheepskin rug
lay lovingly spread before the flames
waiting for her
the book
the one she longed after
in that tiny shop downtown
rested on the warm stone hearth
waiting for her
the wine
that special bottle
from a few years ago
late fall harvest
sat open
and sweet
waiting for her
the glasses
his best crystal
sat sparkling in the firelight
waiting for her
his hand
stopped a moment
over his heart
and lovingly fingered
the prize there
hidden away in his pocket
where it lay
waiting for her
taking the ring
from its secret place
he gazed at it
mesmerized by its shine
by what it stood for
soon he smiled and
softly slipped it back
to its repose
where it lay
waiting for her
seating himself back on the chair
he resumed his vigil
over the fire
over the wine
over the clock
over himself
and he sat
quiet and lost in thought
waiting for her.
That was the end ^
Dont know if you like it or anything, but it means everything 2 me. (:

300 Ectos my good sir!
I have not one but two special people, both actually from XoO. Shannon (Dirty Grl) and Tony (Toni the Stampede) had made my time in XoO a lot more enjoyable, and when I recently started playing again, I was greatly saddened when I saw that they were no longer active. Tony, Shannon and I would have conversations for hours on Vent while we leeched off Tony in CoF.
Also, what's your IGN for XoO? This is Telemon Ajax, you may or may not have heard of me

• Amount- Any number of ectos
• Use- My friend was hacked 2 months or so ago, so I would probably give him most of it, then with the rest would start to get some PvE characters PvP ready.
• Special person met in GW- Justin (IGN: God of Toast) Same friend from above. I met him probably 2+ years ago, and since then we have become very good friends. We would help each other with practically everything. He's one big reason why i haven't quit this game, because he's one of my really good friends IRL now.

1 or 300. Doesn't matter.
I say Trained Cleavage. Reborn A God.
He has been a friend since about a year and a half ago who got me into the circles of trading and highend PVE guilds. He has let me piggy back around with him to bigger and better guilds like the current guild i'm in SCAR, which is a very active PVE guild which has inspired me to play again more than ever. Redo-ing old quests and missions. It has rekindled the entertainment and enthusiasm I had for this game when I first stepped into Ascalon in Pre Searing. Guys like him make you remember how fun the game is. Currently i'm going for God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals, and then I want to fill up my HoM.
So any money I get would go and is currently going to the HoM/GWAMM savings.

A few ectos would be great; put me back on track to getting my FoW armor that I lost a few months ago due to a hacking.
I'm going to talk about two people who made me into a better player. I always used to shy away from HM, thinking it would be too hard for me. They introduced me to a variety of builds; taught me some basics on how to be a good monk and generally been really great with me. Heck, if you chose me, I'd probably give them a bit of whatever I get, just to say thanks. They held my hand through some of the harder stuff in the game, and let me tag along when I wasn't really needed. I'll let them stay anonymous, but yeah. I would've stopped playing a long time ago if not for my friends.

My little pet piggy is very special to me. I've met her 2 years ago at the Canthan New Year festival 2007 and we're one since. Where ever I go, she goes. She means everything to me *sniff*
She even saved my live mutiple times. Alcohol my friend.... It almost became my downfall and destroyed my active career as a w/mo. But she saved me. Yes she did. I was already a Drunkard, but she slapped the sence out of me before I reached Incorrigible Ale-Hound. I was spending all my money on booze, but not anymore. I can be proud of myself. I'm 100% clean. Haven't touched an absinth or a hunters ale in more than 6 months.
And there was that one time she saved me from that hord of angry moa birds, but that's a story for later.
If you could spare some ectos for me (300 or less :P), I would get her some brother and sister mini piglets. She would be so happy =)

Any numbers of Ectos (300 would be nice! ) is fine, if I win I'll split them with my friend!
I suppose the person that has inspired me in GW the most is the person that introduced me to the game. We met in another game, completely by chance, and he was the leader of a gaming community that had nearly died; I was the first new person to join up after all of the former members had left. Since then, he's become one of my best friends and together we've been able to build that same community back to a very respectable status.
He was a huge fan of Guild Wars, spending a great deal of time in the game. After partnering with him for a few months in rebuilding the aforementioned gaming community, I finally asked him what this Guild Wars game he was always playing was. I'd never really been into MMO's or the fantasy genre. I thought the game sounded fun, but I wouldn't be able to get the game until my birthday several months later - and by then I probably would have forgotten about it and never gotten into the game. About a week after that conversation, my friend logged on to MSN and said he had gotten an extra guild wars account to play on, and I jokingly suggested he could lend me the account so I could try the game; turned out that was the exact reason he had bought it (I'm sure he also wanted some mule space to, but I like to think otherwise ) So for the next 3 months he let me play on his extra account, he helped me every step of the way through GW, through missions, free weapons, armor, and just simply playing with me for hours on end, answering every stupid question I could think of.
And when I got my own copy of GW 3 months later, he helped me do it all over again (With a few less stupid questions I hope).
One of my fondest memories of the past three years I've spent in GW was when I first got to Lions Arch with my friends help. We just went out wandering in North Kryta Province and ended up on the beach north of LA. We spent about half an hour just messing around on that beach, having a great time playing on the shore. In the past three years, we've maintained our great friendship outside of GW, even though in GW we've drifted apart, mostly due to him not playing the game as much anymore. However, we still take the time every few months to go out North of LA and visit the beach with those same characters just for fun.
At this point, Guild wars is my favorite game. I would never have been introduced to it if not for my friend, nor would I be nearly as good player if not for the hours he spent helping me from the very beginning.
Thank you for this giveaway, I look forward to seeing the other stories people post in here!

An everlasting Phantasmal tonic or an everlasting gelatinous tonic.
An interesting person I have met in my 3 years of Guild Wars is my girlfriend Tracey! While I did not meet her in game originally, she quickly enjoyed and fell in to the same obsession that was Guild Wars. That was almost 2 years ago this month. It is a wonderful experience not only to have a person you can talk with about the game but spend time questing, doing missions, and farming with. While I was always close with my guild my bond with her was so much stronger, and it made our relationship stronger having a common interest. While she started out playing because the characters were her "virtual barbies" it quickly grew in to something we spend our free time playing together. We also taught each other so much. Before we met the closest thing to PvP I participated in was Alliance Battles on the rare occasion. I was a PvE kind of guy. Her passion for PvP soon became mine as my knowledge of PvE became handy to her. Now she is the guild leader of our little family in game We Would Like To Play [Wii]. We are on the ladder in the upper 400s due to her (and others in the guild) passion for GvG. I have even become at least competent in PvP (while no where on her skill level). She is my best friend and so much more, but I think we would probably not be together if not for a little game called Guild Wars. We love each other and this game so much we have entered and both placed in the Halloween art contests making costumes of our characters (me as honorable mention in 2007 and her a finalist in 2008). She is graduating from our University in the next couple weeks and moving back home, where I hope to soon follow. While we will be far apart in real life, we can always be close to one another in our favorite past time, Guild Wars.
She is Guevera Verreuil (http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/member.php?u=142570) on the forums and in game and I am Darc Sword.

any amount of ectos would be nice
a person hat has inspiried me was one of me earliest friends i have met in guildwars ;]. He was always kind and helpful which made the game interesting. He always gave me little things here and there because he wanted to be nice, but he didnt really have to. After i was hacked some months ago, he was the one who payed the most attention to me and helped me the most to get back on my feet again. without him i would have probably left the game :[. sadly enough, he no longer plays and moved onto another game.
if i actually win something, i guess ill get myself a set of armor and then give some out to my friends that need it the most as a holiday gift from me

My inspiration:
Way back when, when I didn't know a lot about the game and just wanted a solid team to play with, I was recruiting for my Guild in LA. And I met my friend Iladin. At first he was reluctant to join because of previous bad experiences with guilds, however I managed to persuade him!
A few days after we first met, we went on Teamspeak, and got to know each other a little better. It's been almost 2 years (possibly over!) since we first met on GW. Since then we've been best friends ever since.
We started to introduce each other to different games, such as BF2. And shared favourite comedians, and had amazingly funny all nighters just chilling and either play/moaning about GW.
Pretty much it really, he's revolutionized how i play games today, he's a pretty awesome guy tbh.

Scarn's Wishlist: Strength Tormented Shield
Reason: About 5(I think) months ago, my account was hacked and just about everything of any value was removed or salvaged. This happened while I was away visiting family, so I could do nothing to stop it. Not only did this cause me much financial trouble, but I was the current leader of The Arctic Marauders[TAM] at the time. Thankfully other leadership in the guild showed some effort and helped to eliminate the possibility of a guild fiasco. My friend, the one who inspired me to write this, at the time had lent me his Tormented Strength Shield, so of course it was stolen when my account was hacked. He's told me repeatedly not to worry about it, but I know it would mean alot to him. I had planned on getting him one for Christmas this year, but school and lifting have taken too much of my time to find the money for one. I figured this contest would help me and my friend.
I've known my friend for about 14 months now, and we're always tight. He can seem annoying, but I always love it. We've spent so much time in the past just having fun enjoying each other's company and playing the game. Getting this gift for him would not only give me joy that I could compensate for his loss, but as a sign of our friendship.
Oh and Jenn, I know you probably don't remember me, but I always loved the conversations we had in game. You have my respect for putting on this contest for a solid and benevolent purpose.

First of all I'd like to thank Illfated for hosting such a wonderful giveaway.
My entry will pretty much explain how I started my GW adventure 3 years ago and the beginning of something big.
While the person I will talk about will remain unknown, I have to say that I owe her a lot today and that it's thanks to her that I became the great player I am now......It all began when I was just a newbie still learning the game back then in 2005.
I happened to arrive at piken square, was just a common player like many others, Saw this person LFG for the lady althea quest, so I invited her and we did it together, It was fun, we chatted along the way and ended up becoming good friends with time. As a coincidence our characters were both necros, only that she was a little more experienced than me *hides* and on the same day we became friends from there on. We held each other's hand in hard times and shared our knowledge and stories. Was the most wonderful experience ever happened to me in an online game.
Overall this person is very special to me who filled my days and has been my fav GW companion ever.
Sadly in late 2006 it was time for her to move on. I still continued with my GW adventure.
Around mid 2008 I made a character in her memory. Her memory shall live forever!
My wishlist for this christmas: An Armbrace of truth.

Sadly he quit playing not long after and sold his acc to 1 of his classmate who's let the acc die away . He gave me a boost when i started the game by supplying me with basic advice and some new friends :P. Still glad that he's still around(skateboard and xbox xD).
Glad that he introduced me to this addictive game, and soon ill be able to start helping my bro through the game.
Thats It!

I would like to thank my IRL friend who brought me into GW almost 3 years ago. His pro monking skills saved my wammo ass many many times, he also gave me 5k to start off. Unfortunately he quit the game before we got to finish factions together Still see him everyday, although we talk about different stuff now...

Come on... some of you guys are high end traders and heck... I even tried to buy one of your pandas from the Halloween Contest last year but you sold it to Scooby for 1500e+40 armbraces! You guys dont need to be begging for ectos...
I dont need any ectos either. So for me, I would like nothing. Instead, if you would like to buy a present for a good kid here is a name for you, Blaze the Healer. Unlike a lot of the kids in gw he is not a scammer, foul mouthed, begger, etc. He kind of latched onto me, but since he was a good kid that was fine, he is not a pest like so many others. He probably has about 150k of gold right now. So if you feel like making a good kid smile for the day, there is a worthy name for you if you feel like spreading the xmas cheer. I know he likes to 55 monk so an inscrib chaos axe would be a great present or even 10-20e and he can go buy one. He has some sort of white armor on and it would look good(He likes my chaos gloves and axe... shiny glowing things make all boys ohhh and ahhhh...) Anything would make him happy.
Take care and Happy Holidays.

i understand that i don't meet all the requirements for this giveaway, but please take the time to read.
wish list:
1. elementalist/warrior green&gold weapons.
2. monk green&gold weapons.
3. any number of ectos.
4. any amount of gold.
story:
two years ago i moved away to college, hundred of miles from home, and never had a very strong relationship with my brother because of the age difference. (four years, which doesn't seem like much, but it is from 20 to 16). in an effort to strengthen my relationship with him, when i found out he was into computer games, i bought him guild wars for his birthday so the two of us could keep in touch, and i could try my best (in addition to phone and instant messaging) to keep up with how he's been. the two of us play often, and i've been trying to pump as much gold and as many items into his character as i can, but i'm not very good in game, and neither is he, so it's hard getting him on his feet sometimes. he primerally plays an elementalist character, and i primarely play a monk, so all i'm asking for is anything that can help me get mine and my brothers characters on our feet, so we can keep in touch with each other, while enjoying the game. even something as simple as enough gold to max out his armor, or some greens so he can have max weapon sets would be spectacular.

I started a contest to see who was the best.
It ended with Iron Sheik who beat the rest.
Now's it week 2 of the fun.
Watching people do so much damage it made the Masters run.
However this week I go no donations.
Come on people of the Guild Wars nation!
The Master of Damage is relaxing at his house.
Players aren't encouraged to move their mouse.
So I ask for 100 ecto's for the game.
Then the Master will feel pain!

Well I've been with my guild for a long long time. Only been in one other guild ever, for about a day. All my guildies are really awesome. I knew most of them even before we started playing GW from a graphics design website. The new ones I know from the guild are really awesome and I'm happy to know them . Been through the good times and the bad but we always manage to stick it through. I wouldn't leave them for the world and wouldn't feel right about it! Even for that one day I joined another guild to score an alliance it felt too weird being away. "Homesick" I guess you could say .
Now I know some people from the alliance and they are also really great (might as well be part of my guild).
Love you all [DOTR] Guild & [Hope] Alliance!

I don't really care what my wishlist is for GW atleast, but anything is fine.
at this moment.. i dont think i've had 50 posts but i want to share my experiences with 2 great players i've known for over 1 and half years.
First off the first one, Khillin N Killin, he no longer plays any more , that im not sure why, im guessing college, but we've hanged out for hrs on GW, talking helping each other out and mostly every time i'd get on i would search my friends to see if he wants to do something, we met in an alliance group for Urgoz, then later he helped teach me how to trap Stygian veil, now hes gone and i miss the fun we've had.
Secondly, this other friend, Rath Assassin Cross, i've played for over 1-2 yrs, and we both still play frequently (I cant get on mouch on week days but i still try to get on on weekends to hang out play AB, or farm for fun with him), I've done a lot of stuff with him, from CoF runs to FoW to just goofing around for fun,
we've shared our names to each other, and we just call each other by real names instead of character names, just cause its easier at times ....
Even though i might not qualify for this giveaway i still wanted to share my experiences in GW with these 2 great players.

Well first off, i would like to thank you for hosting such an event to involve all of the community. Secondly I'll say what I have to say.
In fact the whole reason I started playing this game was because of a great real life friend of mine. I had seen him play a few times, in pre mostly and also at the Hell's Precipice. I remember him being so excited about 1k, in pre when he first started the game, since it was around Christmas time, I decided, I would get it for myself, during boxing week sales(Canadian equal of Black Friday, anyone is wondering). So my first character I made, played around in pre(till something like lever twelve, man was I crazy or what). Of course Wintersday was coming up and I didn't want to miss it, so I went as fast as I could to Lions Arch, but I didn't get the hat. Anyways I would just like to say that my friend has been great and helped me whenever he could, and really was great and all. In fact, he even made a pre character to help me, because i was complaining about how hard the char were with one character. So basically I would like to thank him for how great and fun he has been over the years and all the times he has helped me and all of the great people at [KOS].
I guess my wish list would be a high requirement healing frog scepter or protection frog scepter or 105 shards for FoW armor or any number of "ecktoez" as you see fit. Thanks as well, and since your going to be announcing the winner after Christmas do you think you could pm me if i win, i doubt i will be on the Guild Wars or guru much, and when i am, I am not sure if I will think to check this thread.
One last thing. /pickme

First off, I think it's incredibly nice of you to do this, and I think it's a brilliant idea to motivate people to cherish the people that we really should cherish more often.
Anyway, I'd like to thank a friend of mine who has been with me for a pretty good amount of time, by the name of Dark Lube. If he ever sees this, he'll probably laugh, but it's time he gets the respect he deserves for putting up with me. He's always been a generous friend, and has always been there for a laugh. He's helped me manage my childish ambitions and guild management projects, and he sacrificed his own time so that his friends and others could have fun in his guild. We still talk whenever we're online - we always joke about me getting Obby armor - something I'm notorious for swooning over and farming for, for ages, but have never finished. Anyway, I'd just like to let Lube know, thanks a ton for being a great friend and someone who really makes my Guild Wars experience a thousand times better.

Christmas Wishlist: Chaos Gloves (I've always admired them), or any amount of ecto's to help me in acquiring them and the other FoW pieces I'm pursuing...
This is a great idea; I didn't realize GW was full of so many generous people... just reading these stories is fun :P.
The person I'd like to nominate as my "special friend" goes by the name Ketsumi (Ketsumi M D). About 2 years ago, when I was entering the PvP world and learning the ropes, this guy was a friend of my Guild Leader at the time, and eventually joined our guild. On the first day, something "clicked", and we've been playing GW together unto this day. It must have been after about a few months when Ket started to become a very popular monk in HA. He started playing w/ Sama, or other r12+ groups b/c of his "godly infusing". I thought he might get carried away and become arrogant... but he always tried to get me in a good group with him, and didn't forget about me. Meanwhile, he always had it as one of his goals to make me into a "pro monk"... it never happened, but the "training" was still a fun experience together, heh. After a few more months, he quit HA for the most part, and began to talk to me about having "anxiety problems", along with other RL issues. Some days I'd spend my whole GW playing time just talking to him, asking how his day went... keeping his mind away from his troubles, or helping him confront them. I didn't leave him either (as he'd been such a great friend to me, in too many ways to put down in this one post) Anyways, to make for a more cheerful story, he eventually improved his life, once again becoming the funny/happy guy I first met. We continue to talk, about GW/music/sports/etc... and I hope our friendship carries on into GW2 He has definitely made my time in GW a better one.
Happy Holidays to all!
(Sorry if this was too lengthy, but good luck to everyone else)

well my wishlist is FoW for my + my girlfriend (of 3+ years!) who play together in game, i even bought her a new computer to stop her lags!
we love playing together but have to look like poor people. we do everything together in the game, make up stupid builds so we can kill things as just us 2 (war + nec) and i know she will love a set of FoW for xmas!
id also probs give some to my best irl friend, who i have also played with for a long time, have had lots of laughs and stories with him,
thanks for your time.

My wishlist:
~4000 party points to max Life of the Party on my warrior
plus ~3000 sweet tooth points to max Connoisseur of Confectionaries
both of which will put me to R5 KoaBD and finally complete my HoM.
By the time this comes around I'll likely need less as I go into full-effect farm mode when holiday drops start. These are just general figures.
A good alternative which I might enjoy more than binging on easily-farmable consumables would be a mini mad king thorn. Dedicated or undedicated doesn't matter as I have a full HOM of minis and that's all i care about as far as that goes.
My "special friend" is a tough decision...but I'm going to have to give it to one of my good friends and long-time guildies named Ryan who goes by the name of Darth Crypto in-game. We've been through about 4 guilds together. Whenever one of us has an issue with a guild member/officer/leader serious enough to leave/get kicked, the other follows, although we're currently in different guilds atm due to him focusing more on PvP and I'm in a PvE-heavy guild.
We've given each other advice about GW, non-GW, discussed similar issues we've been going through outside GW such as employment and relationship difficulties. I'm the first person he whispers if he needs items of any sort, and he's the first person I call on if I need/want some company through something PvE, or advice on a PvP build. We're friends IRL despite the distance between us and if we lived close to one another I'm damn sure we'd be chilling regularly. We both have similar attitudes, neither of us are afraid of telling the other how it is, and we respect each other for it.

Hello guys.
First of all, I have nothing on my wishlist, I just find this a good idea to give away items, and also get know some of the Guru members.
My story is simple. I've started playing Guild Wars on like the 2nd week. As a starter online gamer, it was best to join some hungarian guilds, since I'm hungarian.
Joined one of the few guilds, only 5 members. We were collecting gold for a guild hall for like 2 weeks (this time a guild hall was really, REALLY expensive ). Then I started to party more with one of the 5 guild members.
We played through the game, getting stuck at Amnoon Oasis, becouse it was overpowered for us , then finally beat the game.
Things were the same for like a month, then he told me he have to do Dragon's Lair with his warrior. We met there, formed a party, and he spotted a warp in the outpost.
- What's that? Tomb of the Primeval Kings? Wanna go there, Nafret?
- No, thanks, let's do this mission.
- Naaah, I want to see what's this.
- Okay, tell me when you need my help with Dragon's Lair.
- Fine, bye-bye!
And from this time, he fell in love with PvP. We didn't party as much time as before, he left the guild for another one, then we didn't party at all.
After two years, he became one of the few r12's.
I had a one year break, came back and found at that he left the game. I don't know any contact infos about him.
That's my story.

Well, first, I just want to thank Illfated Fat for this event. With most of Guild Wars people quitting, a vast difference has been made between the rich and the poor. Second, I just want to say that its also very nice of you to host an event, especially since it can somewhat relate to the world so far, where most players on Guild Wars barely get enough time to farm like everyone else for hours on end.
My wishlist: 100e would be nice, especially since I'm helping to host a party in my alliance, it would really help to give them some goodie-bags to help remind them that not everyone on Guild Wars is a greedy person.
My special person I met in Guildwars would have to be my boyfriend, Alex Chambers. Yes, it's awkward, one of those, I met my bf/gf on a game, but it's even nicer when we first met. It was around Wintersday last year, and well, things got off from there. It's hard keeping in touch with him since I live in America, and he in Scotland, but we always play Guild Wars together, even helping to start our own guilds and to comfort each other in our times of need.
What I'm really trying to say though is that if you do decide to give me any amount of ectos, I would highly appreciate it. I also commend you for the happiness you will bring to any individual you choose.
谢谢.~冯爱民(Thanks)

Thank you for this give-away, very kind of you, merry christmas!
My wish goes to my lover and cherished Lady Bloodrawen, in event of winning contact her.
I know she asked for Chaos Gloves before I took my leave from Guild Wars, I wish I could of stayed and helped with it, but addiction took over and I had to break up with the game.
Our story started in 2005, we were both in the same guild from a co-insidence really, got to know eachother, we realized we liked eachother, and today we are a couple.
We started our journey in a guild call Desert Flames, we were in it probably 6 months if not more, I was saving up for my first Fissure armor, she was AB'ing alot with fellow friends of the guild, we were quite good I remember and soon enough we were in the alliance owning Cavalon.
The story doesn't have a happy ending however, The guild master of said guild was helping me with book-keeping over the ectos and shards I had saved. And like allways the helpless are victim over their own stupidity. I lost alot of confidence in mankind after that, shut myself out from other players, when I told Lady this and she raged on said guild master with the consequense of being kicked herself.
There we were, alone, together, we started our own guild, The Vampire Covenant VamP, we were in it for about a year by ourselfes more or less. Some friends jumped in occasionally, and today they are our best friends. Keeping in touch everyday, one way or another.
We helped eachother with quests, items and armor. Even though I tried helping her as much I could, but she allways helped me more.
Now in the wintery appartment we live together in, I can see her before me, vanquishing an shiverpeak area. The same fire in her eyes as of over 3 years ago when we started playing together.
She helped me through hardships and sorrows, I think she would be a perfect candidate for recieving a good Christmas present.
I love you, allways <3
Merry Christmas everyone.

wish 100e for my GL (his Ign is Baron Ivellios).
Story: I have rarely seen people with such dedication. Always helping and with everything just to be able to play with someone else. Even in easy quests. Patient for newbies. Lots of money donated for guild events and what is important always polite and happy to give his spare mod or weapon. I have not met many people like this in GW. Always trying. A lot of free time dedicated to run and create the forum again from scratch and extreme dedication for guild. I was never very social in gw but now I am and I know whom to thank for that. I am also quite sure that if the wish is granted it will mostly go for more guild contests.

Wish - 1-300e, anything is all good.
the person who i would like to discuss is the person who inspired me to get back into guild wars and be a lot less selfish, and is also the person i would like the ecto or whatever the prize may be to go to, dragon queen orlith, the guild leader of my guild/alliance [eyes]. since i have more or less everything i want aside from a couple money titles and a set of fow armor for my dervish, i think she is more deserving than i am. i've been in the guild for about a year (a year as of jan 30th) and she has been nothing but welcoming to EVERYONE that has joined. the alliance is a 650+ member alliance in which she finds the time to field dozens of pm's from allies about anything and everything every night she logs on. she runs tournies for all who wish to participate that range from 1v1 to 4v4 and hero battle style tournies as well which every week prizes range from appx. 100k total in cash and prizes to even more. and even while working full time, taking care of her children, and family and such, she still finds time to help everyone and do nice giveaways, organize a secret santa for our guild and attempts to get everyone something nice for the holidays and their birthdays as well. she always promotes selflessness in her guild members and never asks anything of the members or the officers aside from being mature and helpful to everyone that we run into in order to maintain our guild's good standing in the gw community.
the reason i ask for her to have this money aside from being the most worthy person that i personally know of, is that after all of the aforementioned activity she has to sit and farm items and gold for all the tourneys and rarely ever gets a break to actually play the game. which is why i would like the prize or part of to go to her to kind of help ease the burden of helping everyone and give her a bit more of a chance to enjoy guild wars in itself rather than grinding everyday.
well, ive said my peace, and i thank you for running such a generous giveaway in such a wonderful time of the year.

illfated, your giveaways get better and better
i'm another one who is doubly blessed. i've only just got my first birthday prezzie and there are two ppl who have been with me throughout that time.
as i bought gw like 2 weeks before them and the eotn trial weekend happened to fall then, i've always been a small step ahead of them in regards to titles and storyline but, that meant i could always come back and help them when they were struggling.
between the three of us we've always found the items we need; if we have anything droped for us when the others are not online, it is saved and given free to the one who needed it.
there have been times this year where i've found it hard to stay in gw but everytime i've told them that i'm leaving, they always think of some fun new twist to an aspect of gw that i've missed.
so i suppose this is a thank-you to those two rather than a bid in this comp...however, a christmas present for those guys would also be nice
one is a W/E and the other is a necro, if you have a really nice hammer or a nice 40/40 necro set (the necro still thinks he can tank if he has ursan so, only owns a sword :S )
If you think that is too small a gift then i would be nice to hold a christmas party for these guys and the rest of my guild so any party items or sweets would also be welcome.
Merry Christmas (however you celebrate it) everyone, and have a successful New Year.

[edit] oh yeah, the guys i'm talking about are Dave Wild and Waker Shadow.

I can think of numerous things for the wishlist, but anything is oké.
The one thing that I will always remember, is something I've seen on the GameAmp Forums. There was a guild which I can't remember the name, who had a Member we passed away because of a traffic accident ( I believe, not sure.. ). The made a memorial day for the poor fellow. That actualy started me thinking, you don't have to know each other, to bond with them. We are just playing a game, and when this happens people are really nice, to hold a memorial for someone you have never seen before, or never talked to IRL.
That shows how close a guild of friends can be, though they don't actualy know each other. This was the story that a big impact on me..
Well.. that's it then, the end of the story..
Merry Christmas everyone !!
Greetings,

Maybe the most special person for me in guild wars is Uor A, so i've known him for about 21 months the time i have played this game. I met him on my very first day when started gw. He was doing guild recruiting and i joined in. He was very helpfull to me all the time, always answering all my questions and helping me with all the missions i needed. Later on when we knew each other better we were helping each other also on trading, he was giving high end items to me to sell them for him cuz i was the better seller anyway , the thing was i was trusting this person entirely and i knew i can give him all i had and i was sure he will return everything back 100%.
Nowdays he still plays, but he is doing much more pvp than pve, so we arent doing much stuff together except for some pvp of course...
All and all, that was what i wanted to share with you, have a nice christmas all .
