2008 Mini Polar Bear : Myth or Reality?

The question is simple ... does the mini polar bear still dropping? Anyone got one this year? What is the chance rate to get one ?


So far I farmed the quest maybe 40 times ... got nothing!

technically 2008 mini polar bear could also be last years wintersday because it isnt only in december so technically, it is reality

you needa farm more. . .. 40isnt enough. . .gogo farm moar

It is dropping. I can also guarantee you you will not get it. Waste of time to farm it. Just get a jingle bear and pretend its your mini pet.

It will drop, but it's rare enough that it's going to take a hell of a lot more tries than 40. That's naturally the point of a 'rare' drop; if they dropped every 40 runs or so, everyone would have them.

Yeah I understand that 40 times is maybe not enough lol but I heard nobody saying he got one this years ... maybe 10 millions run were made today ... nobody got one ?

I'm sure a few people got them with the massive amount of farming that went on. I just don't think its worth it...doing 40+ farm runs won't even increase your chance that much - you will still have enormous odds against you. You might as well just do a single run and hope you get lucky.

bahhh that give me festival items at least lol and candy cane shards ... 40 runs gave me 2 stack of ccs ... not that bad lol

There's this thing called probability... it's a dick.

if u have an alliance of ten very active guilds, it is unlikely that u will hear of even one person in ur alliance getting it. if u get in 40 runs......gg. question is, how easily will u be able to sell it? all the people willing to pay TONS of money will be more interested in trying to farm their own than pay for em.

Anet confirmed the bear was coming back.

the goal is to dedicate it ... after that ... if I can sell it for 500 or 600e I don't really care lol

Yes the bear drops, anet has confirmed it and there has been other threads on this topic the past few weeks.

The person who got one last year had said they were farming the mission the whole time for CC shard. The drop rate on this thing is extremely bad, like everlasting tonic levels plus you have to do at least a 5 min run to open the chest. Do the math and say you're not even guaranteed 1 in a 1000 runs, but say that's how many you do. That's 83 hours of mind numbing grind. Have more self respect than to put much effort in since you're not going to be that much more likely to get it in 20 runs than 1000. Probability this low makes it unlikely you'll get rewarded just for trying, though 1 or 2 people might.

As everyone said here , Anet confirmed its back, and the drop rate is extremlty low, and you can get a lot more then 600e for it ;p

I cant believe this thread popped up on the first day the rift wardens appeared. After a few hours of casual farming the polar bear didnt drop for the OP, so naturally it does not exist anymore. Guess ill just uninstall and save myself the time...

Best thing you can do is pretend it doesn't exist and find a better way to spend this Christmas.
