dodge them. Keep moving side to side while you run away and most of their snowballs will miss. If you get hit by icicles, put up ice fort until it wears off, then run.

Don't have any clue how you could die versus them. Just zigzag when you pass them. This way you dodge some snowballs. If you are getting low on health use skill 8 for a hp boost.

If you start the mission right away when it loads snowmen will be fighting and you can run past, just keep running. Next group same thing. A solo pop up after that you might want to kill him. Next group, again you can run past while the snowmen fight. Another solo, kill it or run, kill it to be safe. Now there's a group on the side you do not have to aggro. Then there's a bunch of snowmen fighting grenches, again you can run past while the snowmen fight. Another solo pop up, followed by another solo pop up. Kill them for safety or run. Now you're at the end. So it's a pretty easy run if you keep running and kill the solos so your health doesn't get too bad.

You can run past the popups too, if they're not icy. I always load up a hidden rock and watch to see if it's an icy grentch or not. Usually there's an icy at the point over the first bridge so I put up ice fort and kill him, then run. Icicles is a killer...you can't dodge any snowballs with that on you, and if you get more than 2 grentches on you, you're done if you don't protect yourself.

Wow,ppl are whining coz now they can't even click on the ground with their mouse for 2 mins running around the map.

Just kill the grenchies, you do have some help and don't bother running if you're too incompetent.

I tend to try and aggro only one grentch at a time. If there are multiples left after fights with snowmen, I try to skirt the edges. If you can only get one grentch in your aggro circle at one time, you can usually comfortably finish him off.

I know it slows things right down, but waiting for your Ice Fort to recharge before you get into a fight is a good defense.

Or just use Birthday Cupcakes or similar speed boost ( also adds to your Title) it makes the run so much faster and ziggy zaggy as you run.

It's a bit slower, but I usually run past the first 2 groups fighting snowmen. They won't bother you as long as you pass them before the snowmen are all killed.

I then kill the lone pop-up because he will follow you all the way to the next group of 2 who usually have already killed the attacking snowmen. I then kill that group and run all the way to the 1 guarding the door at the end of the long hall. Kill him, then run past the larger fight, past the pop-ups and all the way to the final locked door.

Then, go read something for 5 mins, then come back and collect the loot.

So, I kill a total of 3-4 grentches along the way. Slower, but whatever.

You can speed up the final battle, thus the run itself, by actually participating. Just let the snowmen take aggro first...and if they die, throw up an ice fort...you'll hold aggro until it drops then there are 3-4 snowmen back to help out. Battles last 4-5 minutes for me...which seriously evens out the backtracking I do for shards that drop from npc battles.

Guy wanted help, not a bunch of faggots. Either help him or don't post, no one really gives a shit if you find it easy.

To OP:
Try dodging or if you lag a bit like me you can just go in and kill one then retreat (Assuming we are talking about fighting them solo). Using a Warrior helps as he has an IMS boost which is great for getting away.

Seems this one depends on where the snowmen at the end spawn, as to whether it's easy or hard.

If they spawn back at the wall, it's cake.

If they spawn out in the center, it's difficult. Problem here is new enemy groups that spawn insta-aggro, allowing no recoup time for snowmen (I lost twice, as all snowmen died and I tried running from the final pack/second to last pack). This can result in the indefinite death of boss snowman, given he got smoked.

Really not worth the grind - I calculate a 15-20k/hour return rate (2k/run, 6 min run). Any other mindless solo grind will net you about that much in vendor trash/salvage/golds/tomes - plus the holiday items should be 2-3x that much. I'm not real fond of pets, either - but sure wouldn't mind selling it if I found it...

EDIT: I thought I read on wiki that freezee stays dead until no enemies around, but not the case - I just ran to the door and waited it out on a new spawn that started in the center. Snowmen just keep respawning, and eventually win - takes longer, but can just AFK...

I find it better to kill em all, works for me since I am getting trying to get as many CC Shards as possible. You may want to switch to a different profession. Monk is probably the easy choice since you get the additional heal and while the heal is running if you get hit the shooter is knocked down. If you get into a 3vs1/2vs1 put up ice castle and kill em, if that fails run like hell (zig-zag) and be ready to snowcone. Then heal & load up hidden rock and try to isolate them in a one on one situation. Knock down is your best buddy.

If you are going for shortest time to the end then warrior with lets get em is the way to go. Once a enemy snowball is in the air, turn sharply it should miss you.

I think someone already mentioned monk and warrior previously as the better choices.

I have noticed that some of boost items (pumpkin cookies/candy apples) put the icon on the screen but do not change any stats. Have not tried the cupcake to see if you get a speed boost. Test them to make sure otherwise it may be a huge waste. I could be wrong though, I will check later again later today unless someone beats me to it.

Hope that helps you!

Is there any safe spot i could AFK in for the last fight? I usually go to the Left passage (If looking from the path you used to get to Freezie) if 2 waves have spawned there. However there's an additional wave coming from there after a couple of minutes, so I can't go completely afk.

What I do is run past the mobs while they're fighting and kill the single grentches.
Use Hidden Stone to knock them down, spam snowballs and dodge their attacks if you can.
In the final battle stay near the doors where the chest spawns.
Engage grentches that aren't targeted by the snowmen.
If the snowmen die, disengage from battle, hug the door and wait till they resurrect. If you get overwhelmed and all snowmen are dead, put up your defense and use snow cone if your health is low.
Rinse and repeat.

I usually kill all the grentches along the way for CC shards. One on one, preload Hidden Rock, Snowball, strafe, Snowball, strafe until Mega Snowball charged or grentch dead. One on two, preload Hidden Rock, Snowball, Ice Fort, repeat Snowball until first grentch dead, Mega Snowball, strafe, Snowball, you get the idea.

In the final fight, I prefer ritualist. Pop a Jack Frost to bear the initial attack from one side, tank on the other until the snowmen have dispatched the first mob, then lead the second group to the snowmen (keep strafing to avoid damage, the grentches usually keep aggro on you while the snowmen kill them). If you get dazed or Snow Down the Shirt, strafe until safe. Repeat for each wave. You should at any time have the full aggro of one mob on you to avoid the snowmen getting wiped and the completion of the mission pushing past 10 minutes.

Yes, I shove myself right up against the door when I notice my snowmen friends are getting overwhelmed. Just make sure you make a break before the last snowman is down, so you don't take the aggro.

Waiting out the fight takes a while tho. I only break from the fight if the snowmen are overwhelmed just before the final group (with Grentchus Maximus), and find they take quite a long time to wear the grentches down, as the grentches pounce on any poor Snowman soul who pops up.

My advice is to just to up to the door at the start... the snow men respawn and it might take 10 minutes, but its a lot easier and you can just chill in the meanwhile.

The door behind the snowmen? I have tried this and I still got caught in the aggro with the boss mob. So I am confused as to how people are afking the final fight.

Were you fighting near it before that? As long as you never drag anything back there they definitely won't aggro if you're just standing back there.

No I was doing no fighting, but on all 3 occassions the snowmen were standing very near the door, so any gritches using touch skills definately came into my aggro bubble, causing the problem I described. It isn't a problem to fight them till the snowmen res, but an annoyance because it would be nice to go do the dishes if the snowmen can do all the fighting

AFK the fight at the end takes too much time, fighting is the way to go.

First wave: the grentch you left behind while running there will slow down the left side, take care of the right first.

Second wave: hold down the right side with Ice fort while the snowmen take care of the left.

Third and fourth wave: Fight both sides at the same time, when all the snowmen are dead use Ice fort (recharges when Freezie dies), few snowmen should respawn and get back the agro, if not: run back, dodge and eat your snowcone.

Fifth wave is easy.

Cupcakes do make you run faster I'm up to 167 runs now (yeah i have no life)
I just run past everything to the door and always stand on the left side of the door (facing it) and have never taken agro
from grenchies in all these runs after they all get killed and the chest spawns i run back and kill any grenchies standing and collect any shards then go backopen the chest.
a bit slower but thats how i do it.

Also verified the cupcake speed increase last night. You do not get the hit point or energy boost though. Another thing I used was slices of pumkin pie which looked like it was giving me the faster activation times on the skills but not the attack speed. Hard to tell for me when fighting. Useful if you are fighting your way to the end. Once again I need another set of eyes on that.

there, 6 minute run. Pretty straightforward, run, heal, run some more, pew pew pew.
Almost managed to keep Freezie alive through the whole thing, died at the last group.

These...Dont be assholes the OP is simply asking for advice give it to him or stfu.

OT. Like others said just run in a zigzag motion. As soon as I get in I preload Hidden rock then run past all mobs until I get to the singles and I kill them if they are Icy Grenchies other wise I avalanche them then run by.
Then once at the end I go stand by the door let the guys do al the work while I read a bunch of post from all the asses on GwG.
