IGN misses GW2 (2009)

Ok found this on the GW site..

So from the "whichever comes first" comment... I'd safely assume that GW2 won't be out till 2010... and the latter part of it at that....

Advertising? Hype? Nah, I'm not looking for those, but a hello, we're still here would be nice.

I'm sorry but I look at GW differently than other games. I love the Diablo franchise, but it doesn't bother me that it took so long for D3, it's just a game.

Now GW is a place where I've met some incredibly wonderful people, from all around the globe. It's a place where I meet online-only friends, a friend that's been in my life for 30+ years, and both of my sons!

GW has become a 'friend', and I would never let a year and a half pass without contacting a friend.

No videos, fine. No screenshots, fine. Not even concept art, fine. But please, somewhere, anywhere, how about a 'hello family, we're plugging along. Looking forward to our next meeting in GW2.' Something to let us know things are still moving forward, and we are appreciated.

Your logic is flawed, that is a Photics contest, not Anet or NC contest. They've got no more clue towards the release date than any of us do.

Honestly it's really all speculation.....I will play GW until GW 2 shows up. No need to drive yourself nuts with heresay and innuendo. I do know that Jeff Grubb is spending most of his waking life right now working on the story elements...so pretty much proof it isn't Vaporware.

And did he tell you any of the story element that were not in the PCgamer article, or are you just siting what he said in his blog. It like trusting Regina when she said he has seen gw2, its a bias source, so one shouldn't trust it fully without some proof, otherwise it just a bunch of faith. And using your faith as an talking points to why it isn't vaporware or not is not good logic.

As posts go there is a lot of duplication here in the forums


Anet has given you...yes you over 3 years of ..free online gaming

They have other games to produce and release into the marketplace

Aion if you look at invenstment cost for this game...look for it gives you guys a thing to do


They have been excellent in what has they have produced for Guild wars

I will continue to play GW1 even though I will be paying a monthly subscribe to Aion

Reason ...Great game /content /free online/ Guild Chat/ ect ect

So play the Game ..rather than bashing..if you dont play it ..then refrain from

posting as you are a minority and let 99% of us enjoy the game

Just because you have got bored with it does not mean everyone else has

1. Diablo 2 gave me over 8 years. For much less. Neverwinter Nights continues to give and will give as long as there are players hosting servers. Oh, and Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and few other.

2. No they don't, they only have Guild Wars.

NCSoft is developing Aion, not A.Net.

Hey look, I'm a fanboy that likes pulling numbers out of cat's arse.

FYI, most of the good players no longer play the game. Every day I watch an empty F List, where there used to be 50 players. Now I'm lucky if there are 2-3 online.


Also, overusing dots makes you look like you are thinking. And thinking looong. Dot is a pause, so if you put 3 dots in the middle of a sentence, you are thinking for 15 seconds to continue your dialogue.

How can we play GW2 if it hasn't been released yet? And we don't know when/if ever it will.
