ArenaNet is Hiring!

Always nice to see demand for some Java/GWT skillsets. If it wasn't so far away I'd definitly consider it. Alas, I'll stick with my current dev job, and (im)patiently await the arrival of GW2 x)

Damn, too bad I'm going into Network Management AND won't be done with school for another year AND still have to get my certifications and experience.
Again, damn

@ Regina, please tell your recruiter to look for a new HRM /CRM program, because the requisition form isnt very smart looking. Even a person like me with my very little programming skills can make a page like that.. Its doesn't really match with a company that makes games.
@EagleDelta,
Finish school and get good in what your doing. They and many others will be looking for good people in 2010. Just make sure your on top of your game.
Well, all these jobs aint any good for me. I highly doubt Anet or NCSoft wants Euro's after the big cut back in personal here.

That's the problem IMO, too much reliance on the universities. Writing code for gaming in general, and online gaming in specific, is going to be a lot different than writing general business apps. Plus from my college experience, most computer programming classes are just enough to get your feet wet and not really geared to the more demanding tasks.
I really think this country needs to bring back apprenticing as an option. |

200 people... 200 people is working on that project and they still want more...

Companies like qualifications. They prefer real world experience in the job a lot more, at least if they have any sense, and dependant on their specific goals in filling the position (ie, buying an MCSE to get enough points to make MS Gold Partner etc.). Ideally, they get both in one person.

If I applied, how long would I be employed for given the recent cut backs??
(sorry, couldn't resist)

Go Anet - more power to you and all those working on GW2 (and maintaining GW1).
*if you ever need someone to be "nub police" I'd be happy to do the job for free*

We don't have any openings right now, but the writing team does outsource occasionally. If you're interested in freelancing opportunities, send your resume and writing samples to our recruiter (should be the Jobs email address on our website), and she will pass them to the writing team lead.

You will get experience working for a bunch of different companies. It also lets you find out where you don't want to work (e.g. for the government).

I would really love to apply for QA but the visa issues etc ech. Pity it is not somewhere in Europe.

great, posting for jobs... but we hear jack on the game, gw1 or gw2. gg.

I assume it requires relocation to Belleview (sp?), WA.
So sad. I remember back when I worked for a big tech company in the late 90's - the IT tools developers were all networked from various (virtual) locations...
WEB stuff is any Joe's game. The real competent programmers are hard to come by (reasoning, common sense, clean (e.g. non-buggy) code)... And most become infuriated by their peers' lack (of?).
