What are your Pet Peeves about some people playing GW?
Arduin
People asking for help in a mission, whereas they just are expecting you to load up your Heroes on a lvl 20 toon and complete the mission for them.
Gli
Scum traders. And I don't mean traders who deal in scum.

There is nothing wrong with Dervish Heroes. I love them. The annoyance comes in when people use M.O.X. purely for the fact that he looks cool.
I think this is quite a valid "pet peeve".

People who use a bad build just because "it isn't on the wiki"

I have only 3 pet peeves:
1. Beggars
2. Beggars
3. Beggars
Seriously, people stand around in SJ for 20 mins or more begging for 30gp to open their storage when all they have to do is complete the Ludo quest, trade the monestary credit for a scroll then sell the scroll for 100gp.

- Someone who cusses and swears at you in local or private chat and then claims to be a GM. Hmmm - I would think that if ANet is supporting your function as a GM, then I would tend to believe that appropriate language would be one of the prerequisites. Are there really Game Moderators in the game anyhow?

i just hate people in general.. no one seems to use common sense anymore.. 99% of players think gw is real life..Gotta impress people with more stupid titles..wanna impress people..take the energy u put into this game and use it in the real world ..and make a difference by getting an actual job.
My favorite is people that have heaps of titles to think they will earn respect.. but really..Titles= no skill. u can buy your way through most titles now. and funny how people want more titles.. ok well those people i got a title for you..MORON.
oh and those people that QQ about skills getting nerfed? bite the bullet it shows that you cannot ADAPT you cant think outside the box.
last one: people that blame EVERYTHING on Anet. My account got hacked cause i gave info to a "friend" ( how is this person your friend? ever meet this friend in person? loser )
Realise anet is running a business and everyone seems to think they can run it better than anet. yeah good thing you are not the president of a country since some of these people cant get a job or cant stand to go 24 hours without playing gw and they start to QQ. I find Anet does the best they can and i comend them on their sense of humor when they nerf something to make people QQQQQQQQQ. everytime they change something people gotta bitch. my hat is off to u anet keep up the fantastic work.Cheers!
people in ab that want you to ping your build and if you dont they threaten to kick you. well i got 2 words for those people: Suck It!
People that think their cruddy build actually works in fow..for example ( true build i saw last night ) a e/n using [animate flesh golem] [fetid ground] [deathly swarm] [fire storm][lava font] and some other great skills. Yeah use the golem as a tank..just so wrong..i just have another beer.
and flame away.. im nuts and ill prove it

People that whine and complain about new great things that should have been in the game from the start, like insignia or books, and pretend GW to be a 'no fee' copy of any other junk game.
Perkunas
Pet peeves:
People that complain about having to ping their bars, whether they choose to or not, then turn around and complain about a "stupid" build being used, that they would not have known about if not pinged.
Having to run a certain "balanced" group to do anything. (Define "balanced") I use whoever, whatever is available to complete the task, even if it takes time and multiple attempts. So what, if you can do it in less than 2 hours and it takes me 3.
People who join group for mission, goes part way, then "brb" never to return.
(don't know how long he stood there after we all resigned.)
Asking a simple question, eg: "Who Do I talk to to get "Mhenlo's Request" quest?" Instead of replying "Sergio the skills guy," the answer is /wiki Mhenlo's Request, or -www.gw.gamewiki.com/...........
LFG for xxx quest, and someone says, "just h/h it. it is easy."
Another peeve - the game AI - Bad guys scatter from AoE, henches stand in it.
I could go on and on, but what's the use?

Well, here are mine and feel free to hate me for some of these:
1.) People who take runs* - I hate getting to a mission town and finding that no one in the town is there to do the mission, everyone's advertising that they want a run or advertising for runs while here I am wanting to do the mission on my own merit. I have nothing against taking runs when you've been stuck for 2 weeks, however, when I constantly go back every hour for two or more weeks and find that no one's doing the mission on their own, it annoys me. I find this especially true in Ruins of Morah.
2.) Beggers - Especially the ones who ask for less than 20 gold. Seriously, they just need to go out and kill maybe two things! However, if a guildie who rarely asks for something tells me that they only need 2 bolts of cloth or something like that, I have no problems giving it to them.
3.) People who tell me to change my build
4.) Lazy people
5.) People who run far ahead of the monk and then blame the monk for not healing them once they die when there was no possible way to catch them unless the monk had a running skill on their bar.
6.) People who leave the guild to join a guild of the oposite faction for a month so that they can AB to get enough of the other faction's stone before coming back - I have seen this in almost every guild I've been in and it always got annoying when guildies start whining that the quests are too hard to complete so they had to AB for the Jadite/Amber.
7.) Leechers and people who assume that you're leeching because you're not next to them and even then - I have gotten blamed for leeching by tank during JQ because I wasn't next to him, healing him while he was on the otherside of the area. I was with the turtles healing them because the other team was attacking that turtle.
8.) People who think that every build needs an elite skill or else you're a failure.
9.) Just general stupidity.
10.) People who blame the lack of people to work with in missions on the Heroes and Henchies but never point fingers at the players giving runs. * (please see explanation below)
*I would like to make my views on runs clear before I get a billion flames on my views: My thing about runs is that there are so many people giving them that it's hard to get a group together. I know people have gone through the game with at least one character and don't want to do it again with the other X number of characters that one may have, however, each profession does not play the same. What I keep seeing are people who keep advertising that they are wanting a run and that leaves maybe 2 other people in the outposts to do the mission with (and usually, they're two mesmers or two eles and they have heroes with no runes or with scary builds). Again, I have no problems with runs if you're stuck there for 2 weeks or something like that but I can't stand it when I get to the next mission and I see the same people from the previous mission area advertising for yet another run and once again, there is not enough people there to get a group together with.
I'm sorry if I got anyone upset and this is not meant to be aimed towards anyone. It's just an annoyance that I've had.

One of my pet peeves are people who claim to know what they are doing and in turn when they have to do what thier job (example: Underworld Speed Clears) they fail and say that it was thier first time and expect somebody to do thier job.

Beggars.
People who over aggro outside od the monks range and blame the poor guy.
People who would rather die than say that they screwed up and apologize.
Hurr my build is secret durr people.

If it were possible for individuals to actually build up bad reputations in this game, and have there be consequences (e.g. people won't invite you), people would be a little nicer and a little more careful. However, you don't really remember random playername or random guildtag in Guild Wars like you do in other games, and everything is soloable with H/H, so people generally don't care about a reputation or how they affect others.

What really kills me is...
You are trying to sell something, and some noob prances up with a r3 delver title..
asks you to see what ever you are selling, asked the price, it ends up alot of money, and they go "NOOB. THAT IS TO MUCH."
and you are like "dude, there are six other people selling it for a lesser price.."
and they go.
"NUH HUH. YOU NEED TO PLAY MORE HAHAHAHAHAHA" *ignore list*
Yeah, you better put me on ignore, LOL

You have to remember that this game is almost 4 years old and that alot of people are trying to find the fastest easiest way possible to just get where theyre going now. If I can find a runner for some of the early missions when starting a new char im going to just to speed things up getting to lvl 20 and doing what i want.

I am one who believes that if you want something in the game, it should be earned on your own merit, not on someone else's merit. Therefore, I hate getting to outposts that are later in the game and finding that I can't find a group. All you see in some places are "lfr" and "Running mission 2K". I understand that people want to get through the game faster and get the protector title but then all I can say in that respect is "congrats, you just bought a title."
Also, it's not just the earlier titles, it's everywhere you go where people are getting runs, especially in the later missions.
I'm sorry if I have offended anyone here. I just want to be able to find groups in outposts.

You're whining because people dont want to do what you want to do? wow. Also no elite skill on a bar isnt bad when you have access to one? wow
just, wow.
just, wow.

It is probably easier for me to say what does not bother me:
- proper use of native language
- patience
- self-control
- self-responsibility
- willingness to help others
- willingness to accept help from others
- remembering that it is still a game meant to be played for fun

Jeez, I'm sorry I don't share the same views as you. I'm just stating a fact.
As for the no elite skill thing, it depends on what you're going for. Some of the newer players don't always seem to get that there are elites that they can get, much less where they are. If you've been playing for a while, yes, you do know where they are.
BTW, did you forget the point of this thread? This is where you post your pet peeves and it's one of mine. Sorry.

Sage Tylos
1: People who seemingly refuse to learn how to play. (Example, I recently tried to teach some begger how to farm for himself because he said he sucked at farming. But he made no effort to learn anything at all from what I was showing/telling him, he just kept begging.)
2: People who rage quit over their own mistakes and blame it on the rest of the team. (One time my team had a necro who rage quit due to an over aggro that nearly resulted in a wipe. He called the rest of us impatient, rampaging noobs. But he was the one causing the over aggro in the first place; he was spamming his animate minions skills, heedless of the fact that some corpses were a bit close to the next set of mobs back.)
3: People who don't pay any attention to what's going on around them. (I was playing a little RA one night. Our Mesmer died, I rez'ed him. I died, our Warrior rez'ed me. Our Rit died, the Mesmer tried to rez him, but got interupted and then killed. That makes no unused sigs on people who were still standing. But the Rit was spamming team chat for a rez, then rage quit when it didn't happen - calling the rest of us noobs and telling us to learn to put rez on our bars. LoL WTF?)
4: When you kill someone in any form of PvP, using a build that you came up with entirely on your own, and they say in local (all) chat "Nice wiki build." (Excuse me, but the game is what, three years old? Four? The chances that any build I run has already been tried by someone else before me are pretty damn good. Is it really so terrible if something I came up with completely on my own is coincidentally similar to something that's on the wiki?)
5: The game's lack of recognition of the Z-axis, which results in all sorts of wierd projectile physics. (Examples include standing right next to someone on a bridge and all your arrows miss with the message 'your view of the target is obstructed', even though you can touch the other character. Arrows passing through rocks that SHOULD'VE obstructed the arrow but didn't. Or having an apparently clear shot and your arrow hits a wall that it should've flown over... etc... etc... It also allows you to melee enemies who are a mile above or below you as long as you're latterally adjacent)
6: People who are quick to blame the monk for any sort of percieved failure. I'm sorry, but monks aren't omnicient and always ready for absolutely anything the other team can throw at the party. If they were, there would be a huge population of monks and very few of anything else.
Edit:
7: Anyone who demands that everyone else in the party adhere to his/her idea of what constitues a "good build." I've seen people refuse to participate in missions unless one of the other players switches such and such skill for such and such other skill. This is especially stupid because you'll see it even in NM PvE. NM is forgiving of less than ideal builds and equipment; it was designed to be completed by people who haven't mastered the game yet. And besides, what if the player being harrassed doesn't even have the skill that the other guy is demanding he use?

Well then I could be your pet peeves in slavers I use to solo duncan (not the foes underway to him ofc), with sv/sos/swap and I require someone to have protective spirit for me, and someone else to have frozen soil. But yes in general you are right, most tasks can be performed in different ways, not needing a particular skill.
My favorites:
Beggars, especially those spending 20 minutes begging for a small amount even a lvl3 can farm in old ascalon or plains of jarin etc
Leechers/bots in jq etc and anets inability to deal with them
Loosers who attempt insulting others saying dirty stuff about their mum
People who consider pvp the only true game and that all pve is just for newbs
Scammers
People who after being offered help just drag you into next mission and quest etc without talking and in general treat you as a henchman ot some bot player they got. I require they tell me what thing they want to do next,, and when we complete it they say thanks at least. And I require they listen to me if i suggest how to improve on newbie mistakes when I see such.
People who take the gift of griffons quest in fow after it has been said several times "DONT take quest from wailing lord" and similar in other places.
When attacking new spawned npc's in jq and getting that message "Cannot attack. Monster only"
When you get gold r9 echovald shield or other rares dropping and ID it only to see its single mod with + 9 vs lightning dmg or similar worthless mod

Sweet....RANT TIME!!
Players prioritizing the path of least resistance over enjoyment, creativity and mutual respect with a large side order of being rude, obnoxious and egotistical at all costs.
Gold sellers/buyers.
The obviously really well educated, atypically older, people in every major zone who seemingly feed their egos by seriously and vehemently debating topics such as religion, politics, science, etc, etc with 10-15 year old kids.....in a PC game.....to then gloat about out-smarting them.Seriously I've noticed several players that seemingly do this all day.Sad.
The players that spam and argue with the opposition in the middle of PvP, to then blame their team and ragequit on losing.
Players who quit AB unless leading at all times, RA unless there is a monk.Pussies.
Players spamming "OMG COOKIE CUTTER BUILD!!11!!U SUX NUB!!11!!" in RA, TA and AB.
The overall mass approval and trend of belittling, abusing and dismissing new players as opposed to assisting, advising and encouraging them.
Lastly....sore losers.
Oh and players who say RANT TIME!!
