Free extra tab for storage

Does any one know anything about this, I read this on the GW site and I was confsed a bit, do we get it on the 24th or the 23rd? or the 28th?

There will be some sort of contest for the extra tab. It hasn't been explained yet.
As for the character equipment packs, that should be coming Thursday, if I read it correctly.

I agree, It sounds like a "spend and get" promotion, something like buy 3 and get 1 free. Buy 1 and get1 free would be nice, but won't be economically viable on ANets part.
It being a "contest" is a laugh. What would they do? have you bring 6 Char Carvings to the Agent in game and get a storage tab? I don't think so. Perhaps a new Quest reward from a limited time NPC during the BDay Event? maybe but if they don't have time to balance skills I doubt they have time to invent new quests.

the limited time offer, whatever it may be, has not been announced yet, so we do not know what day it will come out on. more than likely it will pop up on the 23 when the update ges live. and like everyone else in this thread has mentioned, it is prolly a "buy this, u can have a pane of storage" i'll laugh if it's buy three panes, get a single free pane ;-)

I agree, the way Anet has written between the lines on this one screams buy 3 get one free or if it is truely a one time offer thing it will be buy 4 get and exclusive 5th tab free. That way Anet can get the $40 USD max out of this situation. It is a great marketing way of insuring people spend the most on this promotion. People love free and exclusive in the same sentance.
Everyone should take notice that the $40 would roughly be the ammount we would be paying for a new expansion around this time.
So, with that said I am in full support of paying the $40 just so Anet can get there dang servers running better, I AM TIRED OF LAG!

If there isn't a free way to get an extra tab there are gonna be RIOTS. Everyone was so excited to hear about the storage expansion then pissed when they found out you have to pay. So everyone get your riot gear on and be prepared if it is a buy 1 get 1 free deal.

Well Anet will be able to tell one thing out of this for sure.
People will only buy this addition for their MAIN account. It will give them a better count of active accounts out there, and maybe a better look as to how many may travel over to GW2.
As for the speculation of how many Tabs we will have total when this is all done, no one knows, stay tuned for tomorrow.

I don't have acces to credit cards, though if I could I'm sure I'd spend like 30$ on additional character slots.. they made it possible to buy the bonus mission pack with PayPal, how come it can be so $#%#%@ hard to make it a universal payment method..

I would assume that the promotion is a buy three, get one free deal. The limited time offer would that if you buy three during the weekend, you get one free, giving you four new tabs total. After the birthday event, you would have to pay for all four.
*shrug* That's my guess.

There will definitely be a build tomorrow for the Town art needed to run the Shing Jea Boardwalk. I can't comment on if the 4th Anniversary Content Update will come with it or if it will be next week."

- for a limited time you can get one extra tab for free. I thought through a contest (bring 8 Char carvings etc.)
- in addition you can buy up to 4 additional tabs for 10 bucks each
Re-reading the 'for a limited time offer' - it sounds more like a buy 4 - get 5 offer. This would really suck.

April's update already came. This is a quarterly update, said to be released sometime in April. There's a difference.
I also think it'll be buy something, get this something free. It's how they're doing everything now.

If not, Anet /fails and /folds and we go back to our regular lives or we find another game to play. I personally do not want to see this happen, I enjoy playing GW, am looking forward to GW2, and don't want to see it go away.
Yet to me it seems Anet needs some Moola (pun intended) in order to keep things going or else they would not have turned this into a purchasable item.
Do the Math, promotion + free + exclusive + something people have been requesting forever = big payoffs

I think it will be either based on buying something (buy 1 get 1 free, or worse), it may be given for free to all accounts that own Prophecies+Faction+Nightfall+EotN, with a limited time of say 1 month to get them all for those who don't have them yet.
Or it may be as simple as registering for their newsletter, so you can receive the code by email (and then some ncsoft emails about Aion/Lineage2/CoX/GW2 beta
and stuff like that)

I believe the extra pane will be obtained without a purchase. Perhaps through an in-game quest only available during the 4th Anniversary. Guess time will tell.

First time I read it I thought it was free, but after re-reading it a few times, it sure sounds like buy 3-4 and get one free. That's how limited time promotions usually are.
