Attention all writers!

Welcome to Part 1 of the Mortbane 1079AE Short Story/Sketch/Coloring Contest! As you can see, Part 1 is the Short Story portion of the contest. Three prizes will be awarded for this round and top authors have a chance to receive bonus rewards from the following rounds. Plus, one lucky writer could be part of the team to receive a special award once the contest is finished. More details on that are posted in the Q&A page.

Prizes:
1st Place: 100k & will be used for Part 2!
2nd Place: 75k & will be used for Part 2!
3rd Place: 50k & will be used for Part 2!
*NEW* 4th Place: 25k
*NEW* 5th Place: 10k

Top 3 and runners-up will also get to choose from an assortment of items to be listed soon.

Prompt:

Grim Mortbane, native to Elona, has been on many adventures in his 30 years. The world of Tyria is settling down again after a chain of great evils threatening to dominate or destroy it. Wealth and celebration abound. Fighting takes the form of sport and the gods smile happily at the successes of their children.

Grim feels that it is time to pursue another way of life. Having never really planned for this future, he is unsure whether this is the time to take up a new vocation, settle down and have a family, seek out adventure beyond the natural realms, or bide his time in hopes of another evil menace.

What happens now? What is his next adventure?

Rules:

* Write a short story approximately 2500 words. You may go under if you are able to complete the story in fewer words. You may go over, but please no more that 4000, remembering that I have to read all of the entries. I would imagine that there will be a number of entries on the last day, so I am giving a few days to read, review and judge. (if you can't get within 4000, but aren't over by too much, ask me first. If you let me know you're only over by a little bit, I won't hit you with an "invalid entry")
* English only; my apologies to non-english writers. I will be fairly forgiving on spelling so don’t let that deter you. I’m interested in the story.
* You may, and are encouraged to, draw from Guild Wars lore for your story, but it is not a requirement depending on the genre of the story (for example, if you decided to go sci-fi, you might leave Tyria completely).
* You may include your own characters in the story if you like. This may be an easier way to work in a plot, because you will already be very familiar with your own story.
* Refer to Grim’s biography for information about background and affiliations. There are some helpful guidelines for this personality.
* Any theme/genre is acceptable, but please keep details PG-13. These will be posted to the public.
* Keep in mind that Part 2 of the contest may involve an artist sketching a scene from your story and enter only if you agree with this.

Deadline and Submission:

Short Stories are due Sunday, May 31, 2009 11:59PM GMT (extensions may be granted under extreme conditions only, but the final results will be announced the following Friday)

Include your in-game name (this will not be posted unless requested), a title and pen name (this will be posted).

Writers responding to the forums may send entries in a PM or post to the thread. I have just been informed that the cap here is 7000 characters, so you may have to submit in parts. If using a PM, end your submission with ***END*** so that I know the entire text has reached my inbox (I would hate to lose half your story in the process). You may request my email address and send entries there also.

Writers responding to the WordPress blog should email me entries (details provided there).

One question though

if I write a story, am I automatically obligated to do the other two parts of the contest as well?
The only reason i ask is because I am not a talented drawer and won't bother attempting.

Finally it comes out! I will enjoy this. 2,500 is roughly 6 pages, rather short in my opinion. But then again, for just a month to work on it, maybe not. Hmmm, I think I have an idea brewing.

I'll test the art "talent" people say I have through your contest, if I win a place *or get close*, I may consider continuing art on the side.

btw, cap on messages is 7,000 characters *just tested* so PM's will be sent in multiples. Especially if holding long words. x)

No one is obligated to do all three parts. I planned this with the hopes that more people would find their area of expertise and get a chance to participate in a contest. I know not everyone can draw as well as they would like to, but might have some great story ideas, so I wanted to bring in the fan fic community too. You are certainly invited to enter the other parts too, or pick and choose. Maybe writing is your gift and you also enjoy coloring, but don't like to draw; just skip the second part and enter the third.

I realize this contest is setup so that a particularly gifted writer and artist could enter all three and continue one piece of work, but they would have to do it one step at a time.

I had a few reasons for breaking up the contest into segments:
*I want people to have fun doing what they do best
*I want to encourage collaborative works
*I want to get the writing community and art community together
*I don't want people to get overwhelmed by huge, elaborate, colored drawings

I hope you'll enter as many parts of the contest as you like and look forward to seeing your entry.

Sort of like "A Day in the Life of That One Orc that Got Squished"? Bringing him into another story that's already happening, explaining his involvement even though for the overall story (not the entry) he was only a small part? If you can fit the background of the bigger story into the short story entry, that sounds fine. It should stand on its own so readers don't have to refer to another story, because that gives you the advantage of having limitless fiction outside the entry as a supplement to the story, if that makes sense.

A brief summary of the events happening around this individual cell of the story should solve this.

Sure, go ahead and submit that. I don't think 100 more will kill me right now. I set the limit at 4000, because I had a feeling people might wait to see what others had written and then submit like crazy on the last day, and I want to have time to read everything to give it a fair shot. Some are run by me that aren't 1000 words in their entirety.

That goes for everyone else too. I don't want anyone to think "Hey, I could have fit much more story into mine if I was allowed to go over 4000!" If it's not too much more than 4000, just ask.

I'm not hitting you or anyone else with the "invalid entry" for going over the limit as long as you run it by me first and it is only a little bit more.

For example, I'd likely frown on a 5000 word entry, because that's enough for two normal entries and others have fit whole stories into the 1000 words they went over. And it's surely not fair to others who wracked their brains to fit within the limits.

It's early enough now, I'll make a note in the OP so everyone has the same opportunities.

It's always worth a try. Even if you're not sure about the art, I've split it into sketch and coloring for just that reason.

So far I have an entry from Velena but it has been requested that I hold it until the deadline. All participants may request this if they like. Just let me know so I don't get crazy and post it everywhere before you're ready.

I'm still holding the two entries from before. Things seemed to slow down until Thursday morning when I was sent one very disturbing (though it made me laugh) entry that followed none of the rules except, I suppose, that it be in English. Sorry to The Pillow Armadllo, even though I found it highly amusing, I can't accept it for the contest (even with your express permission to post it as soon as possible). lol

This afternoon I received an entry with permission to post "whenever." I've rearranged the wordpress blog so that stories will go into the post section and I will just update the rules page each month when the contest changes.

Oh my where has time gone?! I've got like two pages so far. I'm so sorry for my lack of involvement, as I also had a video contest to do, plus my fiance is here from Canada and I'll be returning with him next Saturday. Plus I've graduated from two colleges and am looking at going to another one in the fall. So I've been very busy and haven't had as much time as I hoped I would to devote to this contest. Now it may look big, well, that's because it is. 9,000 words. It was 14,000. Took out 2 subplots, 1 main character and other minor characters (Which I spent annoying hours taking out). A ton of back stories that might leave characters unexplained. Something seems wrongly placed that's probably a subplot line that had been removed. The characters in your story are recognizable by your background. It is unclear is Anthony or Fend is a girl or boy so I winged it. Some other problems you might find if it's a huge read, but a good read. So grab fresh some cookies and chocolate milk, sit down and relax. And the first paragraph is . Posting on the Forum just in case the e-mail not going through. Happens to many times in college that teachers some odd reason never get it.

Anyways, Part 1 and Part 2 are both entrees. They can be single entree if ya want. I added music that you can clikc on to make the read a lot easier.
Also, I can't draw if my life depends on it...

Rain of Judgment by Zodiac Ele

Part 1

[m] Do you kill to save the world? Risk hundreds of lives for one? Without conflict can we call it life? A challenge is part of life, but without conflict, what’s left? Would you killing every enemy on the planet for the sake of peace? A world of absolute peace, everything is equal, everyone lives their life span, food, water and shelter are plentiful. Grim, the renowned hero of legends, explored the world, fighting vast armies, survives the toughest of foes and fought in deadly areas. This is the story of Rain of Judgment, the power to rule.

[m] “Dad, why are we here?” Roan asks. Grim and Roan as walking through Lions Arch which is surprisingly busy today. Grim can tell because so many people stop to stare.
“I heard from Devona there is huge news. It was so vague but she encouraged me to come. I think it maybe a reward.” Grim and Roam walk through the lively joyous town, however everyone is giving Roan the evil eye.
“I know dad, but why here? No one likes me. I feel scared.”
“Don’t worry. No one dares to hurt you. They won’t mess with a person that defeated Abbadon, Shiro and the Great Destroyer.” Grim says proudly.
“Isn’t Devona your friend?”
“Yes, my old friends Cynn, Eve, Aiden and Mhenlo should be here. I don’t care what the reward or surprise is. I get to see my friends again. Anyways we are almost there.” They got to the crafters corner. There is a huge crowd.
“That’s a huge crowd. I can’t hear what the people on the stage is saying.” Says Roan.
“I know, bigger news than I thought, go see if they have rice patties at the Merchent, I’m getting closer to hear.” Roan skips off with Grims wallet. “Don’t get more than three!” Grim pushes the outer layer of the crowd. Starts to hear some disturbing words.

[m] “And that is how, we will survive! The Charr are brutal, heartless creatures that need to be destroyed.” The crowd cheers on the speech. Grim recognized the voice. He prays to Balthazar it’s not what he thinks the person is. “The Naga will be gone along with the Dredge!” The crowd cheers again. Grim tries to move closer to get a better view of what is going on. Doubting the recognizable voice he pushes through another huge group of people. “Anything that stands against us will lose! We can rebuild everything that was lost, we will fix the world! With the Mursaats’ power we can save the world from war! This will be the Reborn World! The crowd goes berserk in approval. Grim finally see’s who is making the speech. He gets out his scythe to quickly kill the perpetrator. He jumps onto the stage ready to slash. It was blocked by a hammer. To his shock, it is Devona, along with Cynn, Eve and Aiden. He can’t believe this. They must have gone insane or possessed.
“Stop!” Grim leaps to the front of the stage. “Have you all gone mad? Fix the world? By what? Killing enemies? You have lost your mind?! That’s evil!” Yells Grim as the crowd goes silent. Grims reputation is great. The crowd shows respect towards him, however, Aiden steps to the front of the stage.
“Evil? For hundreds of years the Charr, Grawl, Drakes, Ettins has killed countless innocent people. That’s a few of the ruthless, genocidal, evil monsters. We are the only things that stand between them and world domination! So what we are going is evil?” The crowd starts booing and throwing rocks at Grim as they dislike what they are doing.
“I have adopted a Charr! He’s nice, brave and kind!” Grim lets out a burst of huge energy as a threat.
“I swear I’ll stop this myself.” He attempts to intimidate the crowd in showing he has a lot of pure strength. It worked as the front row moved back.
“There is an old saying: A tiger is cute until it kills.” Comments Eve.
“How are you going to do it? There is no humane solution!” Grim shouts back out of anger. Devona grabs Grims’ shoulder and pulls him to the side.
“You can’t honestly believe the Charr you adopted is going to stay innocent. Once it gets old enough it won’t need you and kill you in your sleep.”
“Do not compare Roam to a cold blooded killer.” Grim said angrily.
“Regardless, if he slips up, there will be consequences.”

[m] “What is your plan Devona?”
“You remember the Mursaat and the Bloodstone? We manage to summon Mursaat. Five Mursaat took out an entire Charr camp. Not only are they strong, but loyal. As long as the bodies are cleansed we can have countless loyal Mursaat ready to battle. We are going to reborn the world, make it a new. With no war, no theft, no deaths. Everyone is equal, houses and food is available to everyone. It’s the perfect wor-.”
“I was wrong Devona.” Grim interrupts. He turns to her and in a stance ready to strike her down. He raises his blade. “We will have a perfect world at the cost of the world. You would have to kill a lot of races, its mass genocide. Killing a mountain troll because you disturbed it’s cave?“
“You make it sound like that’s a problem. We sent many invitations. Norn, Asura, Some kinds of Tengu, some kinds of Centaurs, anyone can join the new world. Those that oppose it will be stopped.”
“You mean killed? This is insane, why are you doing this?
I’m doing it for my Father” Devona answers. “All this time I’ve been fighting for his sacrifice. He dreamed of a world without problems, and now I can do that. If we do nothing, history will simply repeat itself.”
“You have gone insane Devona! Along with your friends!” He yells at her and the crowd starts whispering to each other out of confusion.
“We will spare your pet. Roan wasn’t it? To bad the Charr didn’t get an invitation to the Reborn World.”
“Pet?! I get it, you don’t care that you slaughter entire races. You are scared of the future and I’ll stop you.”

[m] “I was hoping to avoid this but you leave my no choice.” Devona pushes Grims scythe that was held to her neck, turns to the crowd and shouts. “People of Tyria, Grim is the perfect example why we need to fix the world. He’s with the Charr, he befriends them! Grim is no longer with us, he is against saving the world!” The crowd starts booing loudly, multiple arrows shot at Grim and he barely managed to dodge. He runs off the stage to Lions Arch exit, Grim jumps on the crowds head using it as a platform until get gets away. Roan is still at the merchant, of course he disobeyed and his hands are full with rice cakes. Grim grabs him, Roan drops everything.
“My cakes! Dad? Where are we going so fast?”
“It’s not safe here.” While dragging Roan make it out of the gate.
“Dad, these guys are chasing us.” Grim stops and grabs his scythe.
“Roan stay back!” Grim turns with his scythe, catching the pursues off guard and slices their stomachs, cuts them to the ground almost killing them. As they fell, behind them a stream of lava is shot at Grim barely missing the pursers’ heads, he manages to repel the lava with a spell.

[m] “It’s Cynn… Roan, run! I’ll meet you later!”
“Run where?”
“Anywhere!” Grim can’t run from her, if he turns his back he will die.
“Your not longer my friend Grim, I always hoped we would be more than friends. I guess that day will never come. Just give up, you can’t win. The last Bloodstone is heavily guarded by a Mursaat Barricade.” Cynn pointed the staff at Grim as she is ready to fight. “Surrender!” Grim thinks she was concentrating to convince herself that he is someone she hates. It worked. A flame burst right in front him. Knocks him to his feet and he quickly recovers. He need to get at close range to attack, charges at her at full force before Cynn can cast a more powerful spell. Running to her at close range it will be hard to dodge. She summons a fireball which launched at Grim, he repels it and it explodes at his shield. Reversal of Fortune is great at stopping her deadly spells. However he can’t use it forever. Grim is at range, and jumps at Cynn with the scythe, he raises it in the air ready to land a fatal blow, he hesitated and barely slashes her, scared he would kill her. Blood ran down Cynns face where the scar is. It manages to cut her skin but that’s all. She clinches her teeth out of anger.
“You’re going to have to do better!” Cynn hand glows and she quickly punches him with the glowing hand. The punch explodes in a massive force, knocking him ten feet in the air and rolls into a nearby tree, hitting him in the back.
“Dad! Daddy!” Grims’ vision goes dark.
“Roan, run…” He barely said.
“No, I’m going leaving!”
“I… Sworn… to…” He passes out. Cynn stood there untouched by her powerful own spell. Grim lays on the ground unconscious and badly burned.
“That is how you hold back.” Cynn says to Grim though he can’t hear. Roan is backs up and trips on a rock. Falling down in tears, he doesn’t know where to go. “Stay still Charr.” She turns to go back to Lions Arch and get someone to imprison Grim and Roan. Cynn stops and turns around pondering what to do, she said. “You’re the first thing to survive a direct Star Burst.” She honors him and proceeds to go back to town, leaving Grim unconscious and Roan in tears.

[m] Grim wakes up in a dark smelly cell. His burns and wounds are treated. It is dark, guessing its night time. He looks around and sees reinforced walls, however, his weapons are gone but he still has his armor. Regardless he can easily smash the jail bars or wall to get out. He notices a different rune is on his armor. Ignoring the rune Grim tries to charge his energy for a strong attack to blast the bars apart and escape. Nothing. His energy is being released so incredibly slow it takes more energy to gather it than it outputs. The guard looks in and laughs at his attempt. Grim looks around in the dark cell which didn’t have a bed, a couple bones on the ground. They plan on not keeping him alive for long. Devona wasn’t kidding about killing any threats to humans. He reaches for the unwanted new rune on his chest guessing that is the problem and will have to remove it.
“I wouldn’t do that, at least without the right equipment. If that gets removed I will have to paint the cell a different color than red.” It seems the guard likes Grims’ frustration.
“Where’s Roan?” The guard said nothing. “Gods damn it where is Roan?”
“I don’t know, he was the kid Charr right? Yeah, he’s dead.” These words shook him. Roan can’t be dead. Grim slams his fist into the jail bars. I let him down. I promised to protect him and I failed. For a few hours he sat of the floor in shock, then in anger, regret, and then revenge. With his strength sapped he can’t do anything. Being the first time in a cell without anyone to help you is harder than he thought. If he removes the rune he dies, if he does nothing he dies. Grim shouts out of anger. He gives up and hoping some one would come to the rescue. The entire population hates him. But, not everything hates him.

[m] Grim hears a rumble in the wall behind him, he quickly moves out of the way as it gets louder. Boom! Chunks of clay bricks fly out. Nearly hitting him in the face as he is backed against the bars as the brick wall crumbles. There is a dust cloud making it hard to see. Who saved him? Grim bets it’s Roan that learned a new spell or some sort. The dust is clearing and to his dismay he sees a group of Charr. None of them was Roan.
“Come, meat.” Said Bonfaaz Burntfur. Grim knows that Charr, in fact he killed that Charr before. The one responsible for destroying Ascalon is now helping Grim, who apparently didn’t cut him into enough pieces. Out of habit he tries to get his weapon, but of course it was taken. “If you don’t come meat, you will die here.” Grim runs out with the evil Charr and sees a huge group trying to take out a few Mursaat. They fall extremely fast because Grim sees several dozens of bodies are on the ground. Stood there, seeing if he would wake up for the nightmare or dream. “Move or die meat,” Bonfaaz Burntfur is running way ahead. Grim runs faster to catch up. The Spectral Agony the Mursaat uses kills the attacking Charr nearly instantly. No way will the Charr go through so much save me without an extremely good reason. “Fire!!” Yells Bonfaaz Burntfur towards the top of the hill. There is three siege Devourors, at once they fire cannonballs at the Mursaat killing them instantly, but also killing everything that was near them. Grim is shocked and angered at the choice the Charr leader made. There was still many Charr waiting, ready to die to the Mursaat that could have ran and lived.
“You just killed a dozen soldiers with your sieges alone! You are mon-“
“Quiet meat, we saved you for a reason,” Grim sighs because it is too obvious. “But we can toss you with no problem.” Bonfaaz threatens and then pauses for a bit. “If it makes you help us, those soldiers were going to die anyways, and they knew that.”
“Why did you save me?” Grim asks knowing they didn’t save him for justice. The evil Charr turns to him looking straight at his face, he seems to want to punch Grims’ face but the almighty Charr leader gets on his knees. “We need to become infused. Like your armor, we don’t know where to get infused. If we are to win this, we have to resist their powerful attacks.” Grim thought that was it. Seeing the groups of Charr massacred by a few Mursaat, it was the only reason. But sadly he doesn’t know where the Seers are to infuse the Charr and if he tells them, they might dispose of him. “If you help us, your debt is repaid.” Bonfaaz sounds like he doesn’t want to be near Grim as everything he said he is looking at the ground out of shame. Though he is still on his knees hoping for help against their doom.
“What debt?” I questioned him.
“I saved your life meat, now you have to save mine.” As much as Grim hates Charr, he doesn’t have a choice. Join to Charr to stop a mass genocide or die along everything else with the Reborn World.
“Fine, we need to get to the southern Shiverpeak Mountains and find a Seer, with any luck we will find an Eidolon to.” Grim responds, the Charr stands up raises his hand giving a signal. Everyone rushes out of the area. Bonfaaz turns and grabs Grims’ hood.

[m] “You do realize, if you lie to me, I will kill you.” The Charr threatens.
“You do realize, when I don’t need you, I will kill you.” Grim knocks his hand off his hood and walks away. Bonfaaz smiles like the threat amused him.
“We cannot waste time here meat. Enemy reinforcements will be here soon.” Too late, as soon as Bonfaaz said that a massive lightning strike chain shattered the siege devourers. Dozens of screams came from over the hill. A Charr came running to Bonfaaz,
“It’s an ambush, we are surrounded, our look out was killed.” Within seconds of those words a barrage of arrows took out the Charr guarding Bonfaaz and they quickly die. The Mursaat apparently hexed their bows with Spectral Agony. Bonfaaz grunts,
“Come meat!” A group of small guards raises their swords. Bonfaaz charges at the group of soldiers guarding the west in order to there are no escapees. He knockdown one and used a flame burst to knock the other soldiers out of the way. Grim is useless as he still has the rune on. As they are running they hear the shouts of creatures dying. There is so many they can’t tell what how many is dying. In about three minutes of running away everything is quiet. Grim and Bonfaaz runs into a bushy area.
“What are we doing here?” The Shiverpeak Mountains is the other way!” Bonfaaz feels the ground and grabs onto a branch. He lifts it and a square door to a passage way appears.”
“What? How did you know that was here?” Grim asks.
“You didn’t see the symbol?”
“What symbol?” Bonfaaz laughs as he climbs a latter down. Grim is frustrated what is going on, he following the same person that is one his top wanted dead list.
“What is this area?” Grim asks, surprised that this was here.
“When the Charr invaded Kryta, they left storage areas underground in order to have patrols a cool resting spot. At least until the army destroys Lions Arch, that’s why this was built so close. Things didn’t go to plan when the army was wiped by the very monsters we are fighting.” Bonfaaz opens a crate filled with hunter’s ale. Opened it, sat down and started drinking.
“What are you doing? Every second we waste here the Mursaat are killing the army we need. Or am I right that the Charr are heartless for each other.”
“Troops?” Bonfaaz questions.
“Yes, there are only three Bloodstones and two of them are destroyed. If we get a big enough army we can break through the barricade of Mursaat and destroy it.” The Charr stood up and threw the ale into the wall.

[m] “You stupid human, that was the entire army!!” The Charr shouts out of anger. “There were over two thousand troops behind that hill. Did you think the plan was to rescue you? No, we needed to kill the remaining scattered Mursaat after we kill them. Infused armor is great when you’re hunting a lone Mursaat hidden in a jungle. But when you get five hundred together they just killed my invading Charr army in Minutes!” The Charr shouts angrily.
“The plan was to invade Lions Arch wasn’t it? But things changed when they acquired Mursaat, so you sped up the possess of attacking in a massive army.” Grim is disappointed.
“The Gods damned army I had was better than the invasion army of Orr!! I would be legendary right now!” Grim looks at the Charr, resisting to cry at his greatest loss. Grim puts his hand on his shoulder, then punches him across the face. The strong Charr fell to the ground and laid there. Bonfaaz didn’t care, he is dead inside.
“I was wrong, you are evil. For a second I thought things have changed. But no, the plan was to get the biggest army and crush Tyria. Yours is no better than Devonas!”
“You can get the rune removed with the perfect salvage kit over there.” Bonfaaz completely ignored what Grim said. Grim grab the salvage kit and quickly removes the rune. The Charr is still lying there, barely breathing. “You can kill me if you want.” Says Bonfaaz. “If not, I’ll do it myself. I am the most disgraceful Charr ever. Death is to nice right now.” Grim grabs an old Charr scythe in a weapons rack. Then he charged his energy for a powerful attack. “Make it slow if you want, I don’t care.” Grim swings the scythe, blasting a hole in the ground. The smoke cleared as a crater appears next to Bonfaaz head.
“You humans are weak. Can’t kill a dead Charr.” Says Bonfaaz.
“Shut up, your right, death is too nice. So I’m not giving it to you. I might need your help, no, I must have your help. Devona, Eve, Aiden, Cynn and Mhenlo are shrouded in hate, I know they have good in them. They feared the world that is was and will be. Now they will destroy it. Bonfaaz, seeing you broken is a dream come true. But I can’t do this alone. So I offer you this, help me destroy the Bloodstone and then you can go down in battle. Avenge your army by defeating your enemies.” Grim encourages the broken Charr.
“Even if we destroy the Bloodstone, they have enough Mursaat to finish their goals.” Bonfaaz protests.

[m] “There is one more army we have. We must find the Staff of Orr. There is one person that has it right now, good news is, I know where she is. The bad news is, she might be a supporter of the Mursaat and it ends there.” Grim must find Livia who has the Staff of Orr. She doesn’t know how to use it according to her letter, but Grim knows someone who may know how to use the staff.
“Very well meat lets go.”
“No, you need to go to the desolation, the Bone Palace, find Palawa Joko. You can get to him by riding the Sand Worms. You think you can tame one? We must have Palawa in order to have the army.”
“Asking me if I can defeat a worm? It’s as easy as walking.”
“You’re confident.” Grim says to Bonfaaz as he grabs the latter to get going.
“You can’t walk there. We are on a time limit.” Grim corrects feeling a wall. He smashes the wall with his new Charr scythe he found in the storage room. “Well, it’s closer than I thought.” He looks at the opening he made and an Asuran Gate is right in front of him. “Take the Gate to Kamadam, steal a boat to-“
“I know meat.” Bonfaaz interrupts. Grim figures out what’s going on.
“The Charr do have a heart.” Grim teases Bonfaaz as he is ready to jump into battle.
“I realized if I pull this off, I’ll be the Supreme Charr Avenger. The single Charr that saved his entire race! I’ll be the best in history!”
“Forget what I just said.” Bonfaaz smiled as he runs to the Gate. Greedy Bastard, Grim thinks as he looks for the other gate to Shards of Orr. Fortunately, because Livia has the staff she can control the undead. But, she can’t make more undead soldiers. The other gate was surprisingly close and well pointed out. The Asura has outdone themselves making this easier for humans. Grim runs through the gate, he cannot waste time. It takes him straight to the dungeon, Livia’s new home. She definitely has done some decorating.

[m] “Halt!” An undead monk walks slowly to Grim. Grim fought these before, he forgot how badly the smell way. “Grim, right?” Says the monk. Grim nearly barfed with its breath. He always killed them before they get close because his attack shreds them apart as his scythe deals holy attacks.
“I’m here for Livia.”
“Grim!” Livia yells as she comes from another room.
“How are you? I’ve done so many things to my dungeon that I have to tell you about.”
“No small talk, I need you help. Sorry, I really need the Staff of Orr.”
“Why? It’s almost useless, yes it gave me the power to control these undead but it does nothing like is says in the manuscripts. Some odd reason I can’t summon more, even if I follow the steps.” Livia looks to a giant painting of her hanging on the wall that the undead must have painted. “It’s a rumor right? Just a lie how you betrayed Tyria and joined the Charr hoping to destroy everything we died for.”
“That’s a… most of… I haven’t betrayed Tyria! I’m trying to save it! I’m going to… avenge Roan.” Grim struggles with an answer.
“The undead says, without a goal, there is no life. Something to work for or you are just standing there doing nothing. Existing is what you are doing, not living. The undead are wiser than you think. Life consists of three things, conflict, challenge and goals.”
“It does?” Grim is confused.
“Conflict, we face it everyday, as simple as going to get food or as advance of defeating a great beast. Challenge, if things are to easy your not going to notice them. In other words, you are doing nothing.” Livia walks to a window and looks outside. “Goals are various, making children, becoming the best, making a powerful tome. With those we can call it life. Look out the window” Grim walks over and takes a look outside. He sees bodies of creatures are piled up on the side of the road. The pile is as tall as the nearby trees. A better look there is more piles, seven, Grim counted. They rotted enough he can’t tell what they are. Just piles of bodies the Mursaat killed and left alone.

[m] “The Mursaat just finished, fixing this area. They are heading to the Highlands next. This area was mostly an experiment.”
“This isn’t fixing the world?! This is horrible, sure they attack us. But that isn’t how you solve problems! What happens if those are three things of life is taken away?”
“It’s a stool Grim, take away one leg and it will fall. Conflict will be weak, the most evil thing that will happen in the Reborn World is a ten year old picking on a younger child. Challenge will be weak, the most challenge is sports. No reason to learn spells, make weapons or even fetch food. Goals will be the weakest. Because everyone’s goal is to the Reborn World. Each of the legs supports one another.”
“So the world won’t fall.”
“No, it won’t fall.”
“So, I’ve been doing the wrong thing the entire time. I thought the Mursaat would have betrayed us, but because they took out an invasion army. They could have just disposed of us right now. The Mursaat are good and I’m... evil. But this isn’t right, killing them? The creatures out there probably never attacked without a reason!” Grim is shocked about what he has done. The world will be a better place after all. All this fighting for the wrong thing. I’m no better than those Balthazar Damned Charr. Grim thought.
“You didn’t let me finish, it won’t fall, but it will collapse. The stool, life, will be so weak. People won’t call it life only because nothing happens, random events will no longer exist. It will collapse. Life will fall all at once.”
“So, I’ve been doing the right thing Livia?”
“A perfect world is a dead world, with nothing to do people will just exist, the undead here are proof of that. Take the Staff of Orr, I can’t make it do anything though.” Mission complete, that was easier than Grim thought. He was afraid he was going to have to fight the undead and kill Livia. Take the staff and be on his way. Now he has to help Bonfaaz recruit Palawa Joko and pray to the gods that he knows how to work the staff. Demonic undead overlords seem to know more about dark magic. Grim turns around and there stands Bonfaaz staring in his face. There is no way Bonfaaz could have gotten Palawa so fast Grim thought.

[m] “Good, you have the Staff. Not bad for meat.”
“How did you?”
“As soon as I said, Staff of Orr, Palawa came to me.” Sure enough, behind him is Palawa Joko.
“The staff please.” An undead carried the staff from another room to Palawa. He didn’t grab it, in fact, he’s shaking.
“You alright Palawa? I need you in top shape to summon the undead.” Palawa slowly grabbed the staff with his hands shaking.
“This isn’t the Staff of Orr.”
“It’s a fake?! But, the undead aren’t hostile.” Grim shouts, he lost all hope with those words.
“I can’t be a fake. The undead obeyed my every word.” Livia Denied.
“It’s better than the Staff of Orr. I’ve only read about it. It’s… Dwayna’s Staff… It’s… remarkable.” Palawa stuttered.
“So what? It’s Dwayna’s Staff, can it stop the Mursaat?” Says Bonfaaz. Palawa is still in awe by looking at the staff.
“Its power surpasses the pathetic Orr created staff. All we need to do to use its great power to go to a Bloodstone.” Palawa stops shaking but is still staring at the staff he’s holding like a baby in his hands.
“Good, summon to undead and we will make a path to the Bloodstone to use its full power.” Grim suggests.
“The staff is powerless without a Bloodstone.” Said Palawa. He got to his senses and stops shaking in excitement.
“There is only one Bloodstone left and it is heavily guarded. No matter if your armor is infused you’re going to perish before you get within a mile of It.” Comments Livia.
“We could go carefully through the Wilds or other areas with places to stay hidden. We will need the undead, even if they can’t do much against the Mursaat. Dwaynas’ Staff can’t summon allies to fight and the area where we are going has the toughest enemies in all of Tyria.” Grim explains the plan.
“You humans are so unknowledgeable. If I had my information right, you Grim crossed a Bloodstone in Kaineng while fighting Shiro. That’s how you stopped his Shiro’ken army.” Grim can’t remember, there was never a Bloodstone in Kaineng let alone Cantha, what is Palawa talking about?
“You get me to the Bloodstone safe, and the Mursaat will be destroyed.”
“Good luck using the Asura Gates as transport, they saw me walk through. I would have killed them if not they called for Mursaat.” Said Bonfaaz.
“What? They are in Istan?”
“Nearly everywhere, according to my undead informant, they now have two thousand Mursaat.” Grim gasped, Bonfaaz turns to the side.
“How?” Grim said.
“Enemy against the Reborn World dies. With the large amount of volunteers, no wild animals or Shining Blade getting in the way, sacrificing has never been easier.” Livia says sadly. “The Charr in the Highlands can prepare for battle for their land as much as they want. With most of their strongest warriors died outside of Lions Arch and the overwhelming Mursaat, they are going to die.”
“We need move and get help, fast. The vermin saw me leave. They might check the portal coming here.” Says Bonfaaz heading to the portal.
“Wait, Bonfaaz.” Livia warned.
“Yeah, we still need the help from your undead Livia.” Says Grim, “We will escort Palawa Joko to the Bloodstone in Kaineng and.”
“Sorry Grim, you’re not using my undead.”
“What? Livia what are you saying? You said yourself, life will have no meaning!”
“I’m not getting myself written as a villain in history. I doubt you can make even it out of the jungle, they put Mursaat guarding the gate to Kaineng yesterday.” Livia refuses to help. Her word motivated Grim is doing was right thing. Being afraid to have her name in history as a betrayer she refuses to help the seemingly impossible task.
“Then we must cross the ocean, but how are we going to get a boat? The ports will be guarded to.”
“There is one person that could help.” Livia points to Tarnished Coast. “Mhenlo is against the Reborn World, but Devona spares his life.” So Grim, Bonfaaz and Palawa heads to Tarnished Coast. It’s a closer walk because Livia opened a passage in the dungeon she’s staying at.

[m] “Careful meat, if anything is standing we might have to run.” A person walks from behind one of the huge piles.
“Remember meat, if they aren’t in the rotting piles, they are our enemy.” Grim examines the person.
“He’s wearing my guild cape.”
“Don’t trust him meat!” Grim runs out to greet the person wearing his cape.
“Hello guild mate! I don’t recognize you! You’re with Defenders of the North aren’t you?” The Guild mate stood there. Wasn’t expecting a friendly greeting.
“Grim… Oh, you’re Grim? I just joined the guild… Um, you do realize you’re no longer part of Defenders of the North. If fact, the guild took responsibility in… killing you.” Grim frowns, he was loyal to his guild.
“I-.“ A meteor plummets the new guild member into the ground.
“What the hell?!”
“Shhh.” Bonfaaz quiets Grim shout by putting his hand over Grims’ mouth. He picks around the corner of bodies, good thing, there is ten Mursaat Constructs patrolling. They go in the other direction.
“And just when I thought I figured your kind out.” Says Palawa. “You lost everything, family, friends, honor, title and loyalty. And you keep on fighting. Some things can’t be written on paper. So what are you fighting for, going this far for?”
“I’m fighting for everything.” Grim bows his head to the new dead guild member.
“Interesting…” Comments Palawa.
“By the way Bonfaaz, how did you get Palawa Joko so fast?”
“I said he came to me.”
“I lost the Bone Palace, I managed to escape and hide underneath Istan. Crossing the desolation deadly sands is easy for Mursaat, as they don’t touch the sands.” Answers Palawa. The reach Tarnished Coast, nothing was there to slow them down, as most things that ruled the area are in piles. The entrance was guarded by two Mursaat. If Mhenlo isn’t in there and Livia set them out, it’s over.

[m] “Great, how do we get in?” Ask Bonfaaz. “If we approach them we die.”
“Remember, stupid Charr?” Mocks Grim. “The reason you saved me was for my infused armor.” Grim charges at the two Mursaat, they immediately use Spectral Agony which did nothing. Expecting him to die, they let their guard down and Grim spins slashing one Mursaat, it falls to its knees and he lands a final blow on its head. The second Mursaat shot a lighting orb at Grim, he jumps and dodges it, spins into the air. Twilling towards the Mursaat and with the extra strength from the spin he cuts the other Mursaat in half.
“That’s it?” Grim said proudly.

[m] “Dad! It’s you!” He recognized the voice. It can’t be, did Devona keep her word? Grim thinks. Roan comes running is tears and grabs Grim leggings.
“I knew it. I knew you would come to save me!” Roan says in relief. Mhenlo comes walking out of the outpost.
“I will never leave you. I promised, and I’ll always keep it.” Bonfaaz breaks the reunion. He picks up Roan and holds him to Bonfaazes’ face.
“Put him down Charr.” Grim commands, Bonfaaz examines and drops Roan.
“What a disgrace.” Roan went straight back to grabbing Grims leg. Mhenlo walks to the group.
“Mhenlo! Long time no see! We are here to rescue you.” Says Grim.
“Rescued? Roan and I were exiled. I’m surprised you are still alive.”
“I was so scared daddy!” Roan says while crying on Grim pants.
“You have a boat or not?” Everything Bonfaaz says always ruins the mood.
“This is Bonfaaz, so the rumors are true?” Mhenlo depressingly said.
“Yes. Well, depends on the rumors you heard.” Grim crosses his arms.
“Sorry, I don’t have a boat. Even if I did, I won’t give it to you.” Mhenlo strongly said.
“You act like we are going to torture you for the information. I know that you are against the Reborn World, are you not going to help us?”
“No.”
“Wait why?”
“This is different, they are my friends that I grew up with. They exiled me to overlook what I was thinking. But, I will not fight my friends… no my family.”
“Great, good going meat! We are stuck here while my kind is going to be slaughtered!”
“Don’t blame me for not have a boat!!”
“Did someone say boat?!” Some one yells in the distance. Waving his arm and smiling.
“That’s a Mursaat Boat.” Says Palawa.
“It’s my friend! Anthony!” The boat is going fast. Roan looks up from crying on Grims legs and starts to wave back. A Mursaat boat is run on energy, and it’s not stopping.
“Move Meat!” Shouts Bonfaaz. Grim grabs Roan and jumps to the sides as the boat crashes into the shore. Anthony is thrown from the bow and into the sand, doing a face plant.

[m] “Ow!” Yells Anthony. “I told you to slow down!” A door going to the bottom of the boat opens.
“Well, sorry, then you drive the boat!” It’s Fend, Grims’ closest friends. Grim prays hope that they are still friends.
“What are you guys doing here?” Asks grim.
“Duh, we are here to help.” Says Anthony. “We will be happy to take an arrow shot for you. When we heard you are against the new world, some one is going to have to protect your ass!”
“Besides, Anthony and I are seeing what the Mursaat are doing. We are with you till death Grim.” Grim smiles. Even at the darkest of times his closest friends are at his side. “You got a plan Grim?” Asks Fend.
“In fact I do, make course to Kaineng City, I’ll fill you in what has to be done.” Grim, Bonfaaz, Palawa, Anthony, Fend and Roan head out to sea for the Bloodstone.

[m] But, on the other side of the Shiverpeak Mountains, the Charr last resistance army was destroyed. The remaining Charr either surrendered or are in hiding. The orders were to kill all of them, and Gwen, the general of the Reborn World is enjoying every second beating and slowly killing defenseless captured Charr. While most of the Mursaat are in search and destroy in the Highlands. Strong enemies are on look out for the betrayers. The divisive battle will once again rage at an accursed Bloodstone.

PART 2, don't worry this part is smaller.

[m] “Before we get there, what is up with the Bloodstones, how are they the source of Mursaat, Titans and whatever the staff is going to do, what will the staff do? And most importantly, where is the Bloodstone?” Fend asks Palawa.
“Bloodstones are the portal to the Realm of Gods. Little is known about the realm. But I do know, you can exchange items between worlds. People souls for the Mursaat, the soul batteries for Titans, however, I do not know much about the staff, as it is only told in legend and no facts are known about it. Oh, and The Bloodstone is in the Sunjiang District.”
“What is the legend?” Asks Anthony.
“The story goes, Menzies, Balthazars half brother is a Demi god, seeking power, Menzies tries to take over Tyria. With a massive army the Demi god had everything would fall. Karei, a monk, chosen by Dwayna was given her staff. Powerless all by itself, but when used on the Bloodstone it summoned the power from the Realm of Gods and the army was vanquished. After Karei used it, fearing its power, he hid it. That’s it for the manuscript, along with pictures. That is how I knew what the staff looked like.”
“So the staff destroyed a darkness army from Menzies? We fight tjose in the Fissure of Woe, but will is also work on Mursaat?”
“We can only hope. If this fails Anthony, we die. You humans go so far for friends.”
“We are almost to shore,” Fend says steering the boat.
“I had it travelling through the sewers. It’s the nastiest thing ever. But we weren’t attacked once.”
“When Devona said a world without Violence, she meant it.” Says Grim. “I wonder what would happen when we destroy the Mursaat.” The boat crashes into the wood.
“Last stop! Bloodstone!” Yells Anthony. Everyone jumps off, except for Roan.
“Sorry Roan, I cannot let you come. Its way to dangerous. Wait here, if anything comes, run.” Roan remembers the last time his dad told him to run, then contemplates on the boat. The team heads to the nearby Bloodstone.
“I have a question Anthony and Fend, why are you helping us?” Asks Grim. Anthony lets out a sigh.
“This is the searing all over. I will stop it with my life. That and you are my best friend.” Responds Anthony with a smile.
“I pretty much came along because I thought it was a family reunion. Eh, things never go to plan.”

[m] “Your right about that Fend!” Grim looks up, Aiden jumps from behind the fence along with Eve.
“I knew I couldn’t trust you guys. Regardless the Mursaat will be here within minutes.” Shouts Aiden as he prepares to launch a bow.
“What is he talking about?”
“Sorry Grim, our job was to stop you. But that wasn’t our plan at all. You think you can take us all on Aiden?” Threatens Anthony.
“No, but when the Mursaat get here your going to be finished. All I have to do is stall.”
“This is bad, Anthony and I will stay here. Grim, Bonfaaz escort Pawa Joko to the Bloodstone.”
“It’s Palawa.” Corrects Palawa.
“Like I care! Go!” Grim, Bonfaaz and Palawa runs on ahead. Aiden ignores them as he prepares to take on Anthony and Fend. Fend casting a spell, but Aiden launches the arrows and interrupts him. Anthony hits him with a Thunderclap, doing little though.
“Eat Barrage!” Shouts Aiden as two arrows shoots at them. Both dodge it. Meanwhile, someone jumps from the roof and smashes her hammer at the ground in the pathway to the Bloodstone. Devona and Cynn.
“It ends here Grim!” Yells Devona.
“Go Palawa! We will keep them off you!” Palawa runs around, Devona tries to hit him but is blocked by Grims Scythe.
“There is no we, meat!” Bonfaaz runs with Palawa.
“Wait?! Come back.”
“Cynn!” Yells Devona, “Stop them.” Cynn just stood there though. Looking at the ground. Grim attacks Devona but she blocks it, then she swung her hammer sliding Grim couple feet.
“You can’t beat me at strength Grim. Cynn, don’t stand there do something!” She is just standing there looking at the ground. Grim and Devona starts clashing. Scythe versus hammer. Meanwhile back at the fight between Fend, Anthony and Aiden. Anthony launches at lightning orb blasting Aiden into a nearby wall.
“When it comes to hexes, I am the best!” Mocks Fend.
“Come, we have no time to lose.” Fend and Anthony quickly finishes Aiden and moves on. Back at Devona and Grim. The battle is mostly evenly matched as both of the start to run low on energy.

[m] “You’re good Grim.”
“I can tell you have been training Devona.” Grim says catching his breath. “But you lose here!” Grim jumps into the air with his scythe ready to land a final blow. Devona counters with an even more powerful attack. She swings at the Charr scythe, breaking the hilt in two and hitting Grim in the stomach. The pieces of the scythe fly everywhere as Grim is blown back into a wall cracking it. He is bleeding and in pain.
“That attack… was from my father… Cynn! Go stop Palawa now!” Things backfired when Cynn hits Devona with a fireball. She is knocked to the ground passed out. Cynn walks to Grim, lifts him to his feet.
“Come, we must finish this slaughter.” Cynn drags Grim to the Bloodstone, which was surprisingly around the corner. A couple seconds later Fend and Anthony comes to.
“What’s taking so long?” Asks Fend. Bonfaaz is blasting away the wood revealing some of the buried Bloodstone. “Oh, this is where Shiro was invincible and we had to destroy the portals.”
“It’s ready” Says Palawa.
“Hold it! If you wish to live!” From the roof tops appeared Eve along with tons of Mursaat lining up at the edge of the roofs. Palawa ignores it,

[m] “I summon the power of Dwayna! Bringer of life! Smite the Mursaat!” Shouts Palawa. The Staff glows in a bright light.
“What is going on?!” Shouts Eve. As the Bloodstone shoots a beam into the Air. It hits the clouds and expands into a circle. A bunch of triangles encrypted with words appeared into the sky. It circled the area and other unexplained parts of the sky.
“This is, Rain of Judgement!” Shouts Palawa. The encrypted triangles shoot a beam of light at all the Mursaat. The ground shakes as the powerful beams destroys the Mursaat. They died instantly. Eve looks up as she isn’t touched. Within seconds, everything became quiet as the beams disappear along with the spell.
“Amazing, we did it! Is all the Mursaat dead?” Shouts Grim in excitement.
“It targeted every Mursaat in the world. But I’m not done.” Says Palawa. He turns to Grim
“You think you could take us all on Palawa! I knew you would do this from the beginning.” Bonfaaz shouts angrily.
“The staff needs to recharge a bit. In the meanwhile. I summon the power of Dwayna! Give me your castle of light!” Anthony hit Palawa with a thunderclap. But it does nothing as the ground begins to shake and crack. Knocking everyone down. A huge while pillar lifts Palawa into the air out of reach from everyone. The ground collapses as everyone is lifted up by a white castle. The shaking stopped, but the noise didn’t as a beam of light is shot into the air. Just like the death of Mursaat, again triangles from in the sky. Everywhere. Thousands of these are in the sky. Fend looks up, Four he counted was above them as the Rain of Judgment targets them. Everything is quiet but the sound of the wind.
“He’s going to kill the humans…”

[m] “What? You can’t be serious Fend?!”
“It’s not firing, we may have some time before the spell completes.”
“Then let’s get of move on meat!” Bonfaaz stands up and heads to the door way. “He’s in this tower, kill him and the job is done.”
“I thought you wanted us dead Charr.”
“You don’t see that he is going to kill the Charr next? Humans are dominant. Next are the Charr. He’s killing anything is his way.” Explains Bonfaaz Fend looks up and sees that each Triangle is glowing a little light.
“We must hurry.”

[m] They proceed to the door but they are stopped when a giant, ghostly saltspray dragon blasts a lightning bolt in front of the door, Bonfaaz, who is in front, is knocked off his feet and is blown back as the ghostly beast lands. It roared and everyone covers their ears.
“Grim, go! We will stop this thing, you kill Palawa! Oh, almost forgot, take this scythe. I got it as a bargain.” Grim grabs the new scythe.
“Right.” The dragon stops its foot at the door, but gets distracted as Anthony, Bonfaaz and Cynn hits it with their spells. Grim slips in and heads up the long stairway. The dragon flies into the air and shoots lightning from afar. Everyone takes cover as the powerful bolts hits the nearby castle pillars.
“We need to attack or that thing kills Grim!” Shouts Anthony. Eve comes out from the castles archway and hexes the beats with life siphon. This angered the dragon and it lands to attack Eve. It ducks into the archway in order to bite her.
“Back up has arrived!” Behind Eve is Argus. The General of the Canthan army.
“Who are you?” Asks Eve.
“Grims father.”
Argus casts a spell which summons seven spirits. Immediately the spirits barrage the dragon to a point is turns and shields itself with its wings. “Do that all you want! You’re dead where you stand!” Argus teases. The dragon charges a lighting bolt and blasts it at the spirits, Argus jumps on the ground in order to dodge it. All his spirits are destroyed. The dragon lets out a huge roar then charges another bolt.
“Uh-oh.” Argus is the new target. Before it blasts him a hammer goes flying it its head. The hammer hits its chin directing the beast’s powerful attack to the ceiling of the archway. Crumbling it in seconds, crushing the dragon underneath.
“Wow, thanks.” Says Argus.
“It’s Devona.”
“We must help Grim, the spell is almost complete!” Says Fend looking back to the sky.
At the castles top room there sat Palawa at his throne chair facing the window. The staff is floating in the middle of the Bloodstone. Palawa is tapping his fingers on his Chair.
“You think that dragon could stop me Palawa?”

[m] “No, but this will.” Palawa turns his chair. There he held Roans head with a knife ready to slice his throat. “Poor little boy, couldn’t stay on the boat.” Grim steps closer. Palawa lifts Roans head and the knife is touching his skin. “Don’t move an inch.”
“Daddy! Stop him!”
“Aww, how sweet, he will be happy to give his life for daddies.”
“No. Roan, I’ll figure out a way!”
“Tick, tock, tick, tock. Time is of the essence Grim. Attack me and Roan dies.”
“I promised I will always protect you! I’ll keep my promise! I’ll find a way!”
“You humans are so stupid. You risk your race for this one Charr? That’s why I’m going to kill humans first. To resilient, harder to break, more annoying. I’m going to instead enslave the Charr, strong, hard workers.”
“Enslave the Charr? We would rather die!” Shouts Bonfaaz at the doorway.
“Where is everyone else?” Grim is relieved that they killed the dragon.
“I left the battle early because I knew you would do something like this.” He insults Grim, Bonfaaz lifts his staff.
“You are a pathetic Charr! You bring disgrace to our name! You are a Charr, so act like one!” Bonfaaz shouts at Roan. Roan stops tearing and grabs Palawa’s arm and bites it. Palawa shouts and drops the knife. Roan runs back to Grim.
“Pathetic vermin” mocks Bonfaaz.

[m] “Roan, go back to Anthony and Fend. I don’t want you to get hurt in the fight.” Roan nods and runs away. Grim gets his scythe ready when he hears rumbling. The triangles appeared around the Bloodstone that’s holding the staff. Blasting away on the castle floor, acting like a shield to Palawa and the staff.
“We can’t get through!” The beams of light keep going. The earth is rumbling more as Rain of Judgment is about to strike every human on the planet.
“You saddened me meat!” Bonfaaz runs at the beam of light charging a spell. He shots a fire ball up at the beams acting like a shield for a split second. Bonfaaz is now inside.
“What? How did you get in?” Palawa said shocked.
“Enslave the Charr? Those words will cost your life!” Bonfaaz garbs the staff and rips it from its holding. The beams stop. Bonfaaz blasts Palawa with a powerful fireball knocking him out the window. The Triangles that covered the sky disappears. The world is safe. They stopped a mass genocide twice. Grim walks up to Bonfaaz.

[m] “You did it Bonfaaz.”
“Not so bad yourself meat.” Bonfaaz collapses on the Bloodstone. His fire spell didn’t shield him long enough.
“We are not done. There is one last thing I have to do.”
“Oh, what is that meat? The world is no longer in peril and I’m not going to party with a human.”
“I’m going to kill you Bonfaaz. Remember what I said, when I no longer need you, I will kill you.” Bonfaaz struggles to get up. “If you answer one question, I’ll do you three favors.”
“You disgusting human.”
“Who did I kill at Rin?” Bonfaaz growls but Grim isn’t scared. Then he looks away.
“My father.”
“Thank you, three favors are I won’t kill you on the Bloodstone so your soul can find peace. I’ll also make your death swift. I’ll also give you the title Avenger of Charr, you at least saved all of the humans. However I think I’m over doing it for all the innocent people you killed.”
“You are a different human. I was proud to get this far.”
“I was sickened you made it this far. Roan does not need to learn from you!” Grim raises his scythe and ends Bonfaaz Burntfurs life.

[m] In the end, the world grown silent for very long. The captured Charr in the Highlands were put to death after the Mursaat was killed by Rain of Judgment. By order of Gwen. Grims’ father disappears again, but we know where to find him. Palawa’s body was never found, probably still alive. The piles near the Tarnished Coast were dumped into the ocean. Devona, Aiden, Eve and carries on with their lives, almost ignoring everything that happened. Cynn and Mhenlo move to the Highlands and try to start a town. There was no party for the victory, it’s was more like a loss. Before I went home with Roan, Fend and Anthony, I stopped by a Charr hideout and told them about Bonfaaz the Avenger. I partied with the Charr that night. The next day, out of no where stood a statue of Bonfaaz in the cave hideout. On the plate were words. My favorite line was: Evil, but not Heartless.
