so I ask, how close is a product open beta from a product review?

So Mr obrien says on 8 May:

"Sorry it's taking us a while to prepare the updated language. We've all been working super hard on Guild Wars 2 these past few weeks as we prepare for a product development review next week. After next week, things will return to normal, and we'll work with the community to get the new Feedback namespace implemented. --Mike O'Brien 23:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)"

what do you think? mole hill or its time we jump up and down in joy?

I think we need to just be patient, as hard as it may be.

Probably means it's another step forward but still doesn't mean it will be out any sooner :/

They probably just implemented the Z axis and realized how buggy it is going to be for any sort of serious play.

It will be done when it's done, just like Duke Nukem Forever. Oh... you mean that didn't work out for 3DRealms? Well, I'm sure the same strategy of an innitial media hype followed by a few years of mysterious silence will work out much better for Anet.

There's no real way to tell.

What you can take from it is that if it's going under a development review it means there's significant substance to it. It's not just bare bones structure, but the solid foundation is now in place and ready to be reviewed by all involved to ensure it meets the standards they're seeking. If it passes, begin the next stage. If it doesn't, correct the lacking areas and review it again.

It's actually a very good sign.

Waiting to see if in game conditions will make time spent crawling toward GW2 worth it.

If Aion can have ARIEL combat, surely GW2 can implement a functioning Z-axis.

2 weeks and we may get more info? Maybe that "big splash"? Well, even if it is a little, I am looking forward to it, for looking forward to a little means looking forward to something and looking forward for nothing means that you do not wish to continue what you look forward to, you do not want a future, thus you are suicidal and should be sent to an asylum.

Isn't it aerial? Ariel is a name meaning lion/lioness. (If my insanity didn't make me incorrect yet):x

I don't know, pictures would have been nice by now. I mean even alpha screenshots. Has there even been any concept art for Guild Wars 2? The movement of the world was great, but its been months since we've even heard of any other things.

No word on the books either.

I'm kinda getting worried that GW2 is somehow going to be this massive failure that never gets released and instead they just make a new gw1 expansion.

There is a little word on the books, the title and author for the first book is known. Forgot the author's name, but the title is "The Fall of Ascalon" - thus talking about King Adelbern turning his army into ghosties (and prior events). I hope for a Charr view on this as well as human. ^_^
