I'd like to say something about the Greased and Z-Keys I lost in late February with a bunch of other people's things, but I was never certain whose fault that was after all.
Other than that, there is nothing notable I can think of that ANet "owes" me.
How much does Anet Owe YOU?

More retroactive changes like the lip-synch, Prophecies endgame area or the spear and scythes in Factions.
When they add new cool stuff is like entering a bright room. When you go back to old campaigns everything's seems emptier and incomplete.
Ah! And 5 survivors. When you disconnect, the server should put your character on 'cinematic stasis'. Can't damage enemies, can't die, don't earn exp and stay like that until you reconnect.

2: See 1. Your connection stinks. Oh well, get in line. You're not the only one.
3: See 1 and 2.
4: Price fluxes happen. It's the glory and downfall of a player based market. A-net won't say, "This is what this is worth, and if you don't like it, tough." Just to keep people like you from Q_Qing over it. It happens.
5: See 4. Simple economics. Low supply but high demand: Prices skyrocket. After the market is saturated with a few more, the demand will go down because the supply is so high. High supply, low demand: low price. It always happens when something is new.
6: See 1, 2, & 3. Also, if your connection stinks as much as it does (And if you're well aware of this), you shouldn't be running.

My connection blows. I've lost out on a lot of stuff because of it. But A-net isn't my ISP and I can't blame them for my crappy connection. Unfortunately, it's the only ISP I'll ever have because there not any other internet suppliers out where I live (Where civilization ends in so-cal.).
All in all, they don't owe you, me, or anyone else that plays this game anything.
Baw more.
.
As likely as not your ISP lagged.
Selling an item not knowing it would be worth more at some point is just life...btw, an unded kuni doesn't go for 300k unless prices have spiked hugely recently.
Buy a spiffy car...one that costs a bit but is a very popular one, park it and maintain it in a garage for 50 years...profit! ..or use it and sell it for a fraction of the cost after 5 years..your choice..
Anet owes me nufin. I got a great game for a reasonable price and have spent hundreds of hours playing it. The hourly rate for play is near zip...good deal

I've had gold things drop up in Riverside Province towers so I couldn't get them. I've bought things only to see their value plummet the next day. I've lost survivors due to lagspikes on Anet's end. I missed out on quite a few draconic scythes because I beat Factions before their release. I'm still annoyed that EOTN dungeons are made up of reused bits and the armor is all reskins. Don't get me started on that bonus mission pack fiasco.
But Anet owes me nothing.

2000+ hrs at $25 an hour (rough estimate, it's how much I charged as a mover; I am worth much more now as an engineer).
That's a lot of scratch. WTF though, gamers will be gamers, eh?
I had a boss tell me that a 12 hour gaming binge I went on was a waste of time. I didn't say anything, but it occured to me that I could've spent that time driving around a five acre lot on a tractor digging ditches that will be filled in by erosion in 100 years (like him).
When GW isn't fun, I will quit playing and play another game. Or maybe watch a movie, read a book, or go fly my kite.
EDIT: Here is a neat link posted on a web comic that is somewhat relevant. I don't think it's exactly the same (since games are more of a product than art, although there are elements of both in them), but the sentiment holds somewhat.

Over the 4 years I've played, I'd say ANET has been really good to me. I cant blame lag problems on then (most of the time), and I don't remember anything in particular that stands out as a huge let down...
...Maybe spending (a possible) 2 million gold on ZKeys and not getting ANYTHING the least bit useful/valuable?
Even then, I have notoriously bad luck as it is.

to stay with thread, ANET owes me nothing, if anything i owe them more for 5000+ hours of game play, enjoyment and fun. hell nothing in my life other then beer has given me that much joy. and well i owe a dying liver to beer.
so ANET to you i offer my eyes for starring into the computer monitor for all those hours, or even my hands from all the typing and mouse clicking.
Anet owes me nothing except for two parts of monk FoW armor maybe (chest piece + legs) and I'll explain why.
I bought my fow armor back in the days and used shiny blue dye mix. In the old colour charts it was purple + orange. So after a while of farming I was able to buy my first 3 spare parts (1 x gloves and 2 x shoes). Everything was ok and I could still dye them in the appropriate colour.
After a couple of weeks I saved enough to get the second chest and legs piece, but they changed the monk armor overnight without mentioning it to the playerbase. The following day I go out there, lost around a million for those 2 pieces at the time only to find out I couldn't dye them in the same colour anymore.
I contacted tech support, that they didn't put the info out before the update and that I couldn't colour it anymore, which was the real problem, not the gold I waisted. I got replies from 3 people working at Anet that they acknowledged the situation, but couldn't do a thing for me. Till this day it has its effects as the armour will show up as basic brown in the HoM, while it's metalic shiny blue.
Anet owes me 2 shiny blue FoW armor pieces. And if I had known that they would change the monk armor overnight, I would quickly have bought the pieces a day earlier.

and all those ectos and black dyes I accidentally merched so many times due to stupid lags... T_T
