Guild Wars 2 at E3?
Vindalan Mathios
Any chance Anet could surprise us with a showing at E3?
On Regina's talk page, it mentions she's out of the office this week, maybe she's at E3?
Nothing has been mentioned about them showing up, and I couldn't find anything showing them being there on the official site for E3, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Screenshot, concept art, ANYTHING. E3 is the perfect venue to finally give the community a glimpse of Guild Wars 2.
I'm sure it's all wishful thinking and we won't see anything, but...well yeah, wishful thinking probably...

NCSoft isn't even going to go to show Aion?
Are they even vaguely familiar with the concept of marketing?
Gah. Epic fail.

IIRC, NCsoft and Anet decided not to go to E3 due to problems with the expo, but rather went to PAX, but it may change? see below:

Just because they are going, doesn't mean they'll have a booth. E3 is still pretty much dead.
Gigashadow
Regina said something like "we'll have more to share on GW2 later this year" but I am guessing PAX will be the venue.
The Great Al
Winterclaw
If they are going, it's to check out the competition.
AmbientMelody
Lol what? It's far from dead especially compared to Expo which is nothing compared to E3. Unless you wanted to say Anet is afraid of showing up to not get hammered up by Blizzard and other companies.
FoxBat
Anet joins a ton of other companies pulling out of E3 because it sucks.

I don't think Arenanet is going to show at E3 simply because they aren't attending. And besides that, they've never really shown a lot at E3 anyway, they've mostly concentrated on PAX.

They have had a great success here without blizzards main form of income, blizzard and anet could learn a few things from each other but anet is far from a laughing stock you act like they're funcom.

They didn't attend last year either, which shows you're at least a year out of touch.

To be fair the last E3 was well... a disaster...

Yeah, about the best E3 has this year is Mass Effect 2, Halo ODST/Reach, and Assassin's Creed 2, and a bunch of IPhone game apps.
Not a lot of computer game companies (relatively speaking) there this year making big announcements.
And there is no reason for NCSoft to talk about Aion at E3. E3 is for stuff that is more underdeveloped. Aion is essentially already ready to go. Plus, E3 is not about marketing as much as it is about getting developers to go to conferences and about investors.

liv from the aion team is and at e3 atm i wonder whats up
rapskallyon
Quite possible. But, probably not in any official capacity. As was mentioned earlier, a few of the higher ups may be there to check out the competition and to see some old friends.
Regina Buenaobra
We aren't showing at E3, but a couple members of our business team are there for meetings.

Since Anet has nothing to release, why show up?

Who needs news of Guild Wars 2 when Golden Sun 3 is announced?
Chicken Ftw
Sifow Chan
Psh Final Fantasy XIV Online was revealed. Who needs GW2 anymore. With no info, I'm not concerned ;P

Look at E3 this year. Its lame. Only Sony and Nintendo actually came with "new" games that were just for their console.
Everything else is the same old multiplatform crap. Then all these stupid gimmicks for motion contorls.
Day 2 and its already the lamest E3 ever. Much better places for them to debut this game.

umm ok for all of you who are saying E3 is dead, it's not, I just came back today from the first day and it was AMAZING.
It was jumping with hype, game developers and electronic technology. I understand that E3 hasn't done the best in the past in terms of policies and ways of doing things, it has slipped, but this year E3 is back to doing its policies and invites the way it used to and it is alive more than ever.
Oh and spirittheif, Sony and Nintendo weren't the only developers there to bring new games for their consoles... please guys research and wait for coverage before you speak, you embarrass yourselves and make false assumptions. Microsoft was also there to promote upcoming games for the 360 as well as full body motion sensor technology.
It was a great 1st day! We had the LA mayor make an address in front of the west hall and lots of exclusive hands on stuff with EA games, Microsoft's xbox 360, nintendo, nvidia, G4 TV coverage, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Squaresoft Enix, Sega, Capcom etc... it was rad. And Anet wasn't there nor were they ever on the E3 list of booths/exhibitors for this year. NC Soft is also not there.

I could believe they're also there for the perks they're given for being able to check out everything on the show floor, for... being part of the gaming industry. Not that I'm complaining, but I thought there was something saying this event would be open to the general public?

I believe the organizers lost their exclusive contracts to host, or something. Don't know the exact details, but while they aren't "far from dead," E3 is most certainly in the penultimate stage of senescence, and no one cares anymore as they will be long dead 3 years from now.

Yeah some of the changes they made in the past few years (car show??) really set me off. I've been wondering for a long time now when a new one will come and take its place, but in the meantime, we still got stuff like Blizzcon and CES to keep us entertained for now.
The Scorpion Knight
Sad that they weren't there, but there are some other nice releases coming out.

I'm with Great Al on this, they've also stated in the past that we'd have the game by now (or the beta at the very least). I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

Well, what do you make of the "Construction Site" piece?
:O
(I know it is listed as GW1 concept art, but where do you think it is from?)

It's still better than nothing, right?
Gigashadow
Well the construction site piece is attributed to GW1, while the snow battle says it's GW2. Also, in that artwork competition from a few months back where Snow Battle and Dociu's other picture with the mole holes won, the latter was also attributed to GW1 on the site I saw it on.
