Its all kinda pointless when there's no information to share.
Might want to take a look at what Bioware and Bethesda do when it comes to Web 2.0, information dispersal and fan interaction. Both have blogs, also run their own forums and (especially Bioware), the devs (not the CMs) regularly post and interact with the fans and answer questions about their up and coming projects.
inb4 cant tell us anything hurr durr

So is there any reason in particular you suddenly want to get to 1000 fans? Why now? Are you starting to think about a GW2 beta, and that the first 1000 fans will get in?
Neo Nugget
Well, on twitter, Ashton Kutcher and CNN had a race to see who could get so many followers. But hey, I wouldn't mind if a beta key suddenly popped up in my inbox. Wouldn't mind one bit. I can dream can't I?

I don't think some of you are understanding what it means to join the ArenaNet page as a "fan". It seems that there's some of you with Facebook pages who don't understand some features of Facebook. I can tell from some comments here that there are those of you who don't quite know the difference between fan/group/friend. This isn't really social networking.
The difference between a Fan Page and a regular user profile is that Fan Pages are public. For people to view your personal profile on Facebook, they must first register and then request to be added to your list of contacts. But a Fan Page can be viewed even by non-members. You aren't "social networking" here. You are signing up to basically receive updates from Anet. Just because you become a "fan" of Anet doesn't mean you have now given all 800+ "fans" of Anet access to your personal profile page and updates as you do when accepting a friend request. Your personal updates aren't going to show up on the Anet page, as they do on all of your friends pages. This is a way to support companies and get updates from them.
Thought I should clarify that.

All right, they're up to 814 fans. That's 157 of us! They were stuck in the low 600's for a few days and we're boosting them up.
Kind of interesting to see how many gamers aren't keen on the social networking and media sites. It's making me think about demographics and the backgrounds of those that do frequent these sites. Maybe I'll do some research on that. See what social media gamers do like. Could be some gem laying in there that we all don't even know we are using together. |

No-go on the facebook fannage, though. I have no account, and no plan to make one. But I give you my moral support.
Go forth, Inde, and show the world your might!

I'd follow them, but there's already someone named "Aurelien" doing so.
There can only be one.

What would be the point? GW2 is in top secret/vaporware mode... I'd rather sign up for a group about games I actually play.
Fril Estelin
You mean, instead of coming to fansites for games you no longer play but where you still want to say you're not playing but look forward to the sequel game that is not there yet? Or is this a cunning plan to try to point at the "silence policy"?

I hope ArenaNet will have a page on MySpace. I love MySpace. You Fanbook fanbois can bash MySpace all you want but at least MySpace doesn't sell your private informations around and has ethics and I get real privacy with them while you get none on Facebook. I closed permanently my Facebook account and I don't intend to come back, even if ArenaNet was offering me to put me in their GW2 closed beta. Facebook is Evil. MySpace FTW!

I'm wondering when Anet will make one of those new "infinite member" groups on xfire. GW is usually in or just below the top 10 games on there.

how come arena net's don't have Events, Video, Pictures or Discussion on its facebook? see attachment for infos.
