Signet of Spirits in PvP

That'd be true if SoS was changed to give energy, but that wasn't the case. SoS had been giving energy, it was the recent PvE change that made the PvE version create spirits instead.

Because ANet are too lazy to think of a valid change to the skill that'll be balanced in PvP.
And PvE players usually cry if they don't have an op skill to easymode with.
So: give PvE an op skill, keep the PvP skill

Then don't use it. It seems even more pointless to remove a spell from pvp just because it doesn't work the same in pve.
I think they should have kept the pvp at giving health to spirits instead of giving you energy.

That's what you call the pve version of a skill. You've seent that before, right? Anet has been doing this awhile. Its the only reason you get to summon your bank of spirits in pve, not the other way around. Its the only reason you get a 3/4 to 1 sec cast time for your spirits in pve, instead of the 3 to 5 secs before the update and which is still in pvp. This is a silly complaint.
Bob Slydell
IMO they way they seperated the two playing environments with the PvP skills was a totally half ass way to fix the problems. IMO it looks the same as holding something together with duct tape and glue, a fast and easy fix without looking at what could make it more efficient. I could go on but I don't feel like it.
And yes, the PvP version is absolutely pointless.

SoS has been like this forever. Why are we complaining about it now?
And do you seriously want the PvE version in PvP? Rits would be able to hold shrines in AB by themselves. Capper heroes in HB would all be rits. And I don't even want to think about what would happen in GvG and HA.
Oh, and there are tons of examples where PvE/PvP splits have been good for the game (WE for example). So....please, just get over it.

The difference usually between a PvP version and a PvE version of a spell is usually a minor change. Not a completely new spell all together.
This is a major change to a spell from PvE to PvP. That's what the complaint is about. Unlike most spells where it is a minor change, this changes the spell completely to something extremely different from the original. Not even close to true. Ever heard of Smiter's Boon or Warrior's Endurance or Aegis or Unyielding Aura? There are a lot of skills that have HUGE differences in PvE and PvP

Signet of Spirits needs a buff for PvP, but not in the manner of PvE. OoS and Spirit Siphon are better than it.

If you haven't noticed, all I am complaining about is that a skill is changed completely to another skill from PvP to PvE. The skill is modified completely different from the original to something that has nothing to do with the original.
My complaint, is about just that. Why change a skill to something completely different from the original? You can use any skill you want in it's place. I'm using SoS as an example. If you want to use a different skill, more power to you.
So you can complain and whine all you want and insult me all you want over the internet, but it all comes down to this. Why change a spell completely from the original to something completely new just for PvE/PvP sakes? That's all. Have fun with your nerdrage.

Enjoy your nerdrage for complaining about why a skill was changed.

Its a dumb complaint that seems to fail to acknowledge the difference between the pve and pvp versions of some skills while at the same time basing the complainit on exactly that. Kinda weird actually.

It's because of the terrible pve/pvp skill split. PvEers want overpowered skills so they can roll through HARD mode with no problem. There would be no way that anet can put this pve signet in pvp. BTW, not only is signet of spirits like this, you also cant for get unyielding aura and aegis.

Maybe it should a health gain or regen thing for spirits, one that doesn't end up killing those affected (since it's elite). Kinda like Blood of The Master for Spirits.

You keep saying that this is the point of the thread but you have yet to give a reason why you think this is bad for the game and why making PvE and PvP versions similar is better in every single circumstance.

That's because Spyder changed focus half-way through the thread when he/she realized that people thought it was stupid. Also, I forgot to mention that Armor of Unfeeling now has a different functionality as well in PvP. So we're up to what? 6 skills that are better off with different functionalities.
It's a good thing for the game.
/closethread please.

The only reasonable complaint I see here is that the two versions still have the same name.
They don't remove skills from the game and have never added a completely new one (to an already released campaign), most likely because of programming complexities and policy. Their only options if they want to add new functionality to a skill that just wouldn't be balanced in either PvP or PvE is to nerf the offending version into oblivion, or just make the versions have different functionalities.

I don't think it deserves it's title as an elite skill in PvP, but changing that would probably cause a rage storm.

ok from reading all this crap... ya i have nothing to say the OP is making no sense... so ur asking why the PvP skill is completely different from the PvE skill?
do you honestly expect anyone to answer that to a standard that would satisfy you?
