How did you name your character?

After creating many stupid fantasy names as a newb I realised my friends didn't recognise a lot of the time who I was in Guild/Ally Chat, so I came up with an cross-character name prefix. The Short____.

Beat to that punchline awhile back

I like making up names. Some just pop into my head and I write them down, some occur to me before I even have a toon for it. I get inspiration from demon and angel lore, mythology and many times from the Latin language.

Nefarie Nox Arcana, for my necro. This is Latin which basically means 'wicked dark magic' or 'wicked night mystery'. Good name for a Necro.

I like this one Daisy Duke Nukem so much that I made myself an ele just so I can have a toon with that name. She's the one I completed NF on.

Banner Woodsprite... for a ranger girl I wanted something that sounded woodsy and hippyish.

Sinestra Nocturne is another Latin name. It's for my assassin, the Sinestra played on the 'sin nickname for that class and on the word sinister. Nocturne means 'by night'.

Roxanne Rolls is my warrior. Say the name out loud. "Rocks and Rolls". =D

Miracle Mouse is my PvP monk. She's cute and she's small and she's a monk. 'nuff said.

Energia De Muertos - My necro. In spanish this translates to "Energy of the Dead" which I thought was a great name for a necro. But I always get PM's from people asking me if I hable Espanol... which I don't.

Beau Arrowhead - My Ranger. Just liked the play on words Bow/Beau.

Fitty Fhaav - OMG has it been 4 years since I made this toon? When I first heard/read about the 55 monk I said "I gotta make me one of those". It's sort of an "urban" take on the word fifty (like 50 cent) and the word five.

Took a variable spelling of my name, then added the "O", threw on xp as my signature for all my chars from then on. (Then I looked at the manual and saw that Obrien (Mike) was the big cheese at anet no I don't impersonate, I don't want to loose my char).

Goldspear Alexis just sounded cool for a para.

Mex Fifty Five because my 55 looks like a mexican.

Bei Oku just means white tiger in japaneese (perma sin)

Death because my lil bro sucks at naming things.

Im Teh Roj *see death.

The rest are deleted and remade too often.

Well my first character (a female dervish) I just blantly named her; O Valentine O
Not really sure why, but "Valentine" just has a cool ring to me...but it doesnt work out well because Im a guy lol. And the majority of armor (to me) looks alot better on female characters, so all of my characters have "Valentine" in their name;

Ranger - Veiled Valentine
Mesmer - Hexual Valentine
Monk - Divine Valentine
Warrior - Ix Rogue Status (about the only prof with decent male looking armor, until I get a sin)

Xyanya Alessterim.

The Xyanya part was from "Zyanya" which I got from one of Aztec books by Gary Jennings. It means "always" and I love how pretty it sounds. Alessterim is a spin-off of one of the elven royal bloodlines in Terry Brooks' Shannara series.

I'm a bibliophile, can't help it.

My names are mostly Latin. Of course, not having taken Latin before, I don't even know if they make sense... they're just combinations off a word list..

There's also a PvP character that's called "For My Insanity" but that changes now and then.
