Lockpick Special Weekend not quite so Special?

When i first found out that there was going to be a weekend where there would be a 3x chance of getting a lockpick dropped, i was pretty excited. When the weekend started i grabbed a farming character and started in on a solo farm expecting a good haul of picks that i would be able to use for my Lucky, Unlucky, Treasure Hunter and Wisdom titles.

This weekend is the second time I've participated and so far i'm very disappointed in the drop rate. after solo farming and vanquishing for approximately 10 hours (a conservative estimate), i have 1 lockpick to show for it.

i cant even say i am the only one with luck like this, others in my alliance are reporting similar results. if the drop rate on a lockpick is 0.5% and triple is 1.5% then at least a few should drop on any given vanquish. sadly, i would put the drop rate closer to 0.1-0.2% and with numbers like that, triple, double, quadruple or any other multiple short of 10 makes it very hard to get excited about this weekend.

guess i'm wondering if others are seeing the same issue or if i am just bad luck for all my friends and alliance-mates.

i've gotten about 10-15 pics this weekend. a guild dungeon run of kathandrax had about 8 or 9 drop. I've gotten more lockpics this weekend than in the past 6 months.

so far i only played about 6 hours on this and i have gotten 12 picks
and basically have been doing h/h stuff no solo farming at all

I had 3 Obsidian keys drop in a solo FoW beach/spider run. I'm getting a key almost every run. I'm after Shards though, so I'm just opening the chests for free basically. The lag is quite bad.

Lockpicks have a low drop rate, even tripled. The doubled Lucky/Unlucky points are a better goal if you are at all interested in those titles.

Friday was a total loss...no pick drops at all...Saturday was much better (for some reason I find that if I have a lockpick in my inventory I have a better chance of getting one to drop...very strange)...got about 4 today. Sunday tba

Can't say I noticed anything better then normally... so far 1 lockpick which is less then i would normally get. No normal keys dropped for me.

As for the double points ... strangely i broke every single lockpick wherever I used it, being about 100 lockpicks this weekend. NO retain whatsoever.

In earlier lockpick events i havent been able to notice any extra lockpicks. This time I did 8 raptor runs and got 8 lockpicks. I guess its quite random.

u just expect too much from it

3x a number close to 0 still equals a number close to 0. It's the same with the green drops from bosses. Going out of your way to try and farm them on bonus weekends doesn't seem to really be worth it; however, if you are farming these things on a regular basis anyway, then the increase does become slightly noticeable.

I've done a good bit(15 hours or so) of solo hm farming and haven't gotten a single LP drop. I did 2 hours of nm jaya bluffs feather farming and got around 28 shing jea keys. bleah. don't get it at all.

Lol if you need to "farm" lockpicks to work on your treasure hunter title, you're never gonna be able to afford/finish that

If you were really interested in your lucky/unlucky title, you would have stocked up on picks (bought from a player for 1250g or if lucky, from the discount merchant at 1200g) and been running chests all weekend...

Yeh well it's still luck,and lockpicks are just that,pure luck...

15 vanq's & 2 hm zquests later, all I got were 4 lockpicks, I get more than that when so called event is not on, can't wait for it to be over tbh, the drops in general have royally sucked

Ps. They didn't mention that the break rate of picks was also going to be triple this weekend, retention rate is pathetic, roll on Monday

Been opening some luxon chest hoping for a perfect DF jade staff. But i got a perfect longbow instead wich is also nice.

Got 3 lockpicks in the Shards of Orr dungeon yesterday.

I also had a 6x retain in a row in HM. My lucky weekend!

This weekend is not about lockpicks farm at all. Just runing chests for lucky/unlucky until your head starts to hurt...then you take aspirin and run some more.

Perhaps people having no luck with finding lockpicks haven't been doing it in hard mode in EotN dungeons & explorables? Even without the event I'd find plenty that way, but rarely in normal EotN areas, and can't recall ever finding any at all in P/F/NF areas in either mode...

Umm yeah. I look at it like it's a bonus blessing... If any drops, good. If not, doesn't matter. But 10 hours of solo farming and vanquishing and only 1 dropped for you? Yeah, that was pretty bad You need more luck *steals someone's luck* Good luck

It's all about the luck. Same as on 3x Unique Weapons drop weekends, 3x Dye drop, 3x whatever.
