yeah, another one about the no key chests, and the unconditionals.
Other than that, just generally knowing what would later become extremely valuable
edit: a few months ago I was pugging with someone with a mini panda. Said he bought it for like 200 ectos back when there was no HOM.
Things you wish you knew before you started Guild Wars...

when +5 energy on weaps didn't exist...would have made a ton of money

For me it would be how armor works : thought it was adding up (15 head + 15 chest + 15 hands, etc...) that's why i played with a focus on my war up to level 14-15 because i thought that 16 armor wasn't a great deal compared to energy ... now i learned this lesson !

Wish I knew what that little rectangle in the lower left of my corner full of scrolling text was.
What WTS / WTB meant.
What black dye was for in pre.
That necros weren't meant to whack things with swords.
That this was a multiplayer game.
How to add henchies in Ascalon City, Piken Square, Fort Ranik...
hmmm, what the henchmen were.

Hmmm... this is hard, because I got interested in the game the second time (first time was when CGW ran the Faction preview, but I was too young then and my parents would never have let me get it) was when I remembered how interesting it had looked and I googled it, leading me to GuildWiki. And that's how I got into the game... I have this problem where if I dream up a character for a game, even one I'm not intending to play, I suddenly have to make it (problematic now that I have a burning desire to make a new Warrior and don't have the slot...). So basically I read up everything on Wiki BEFORE getting the game.
But there are a few things...
a) I think I did sort this out before hitting the actual factions part of Factions, but I was quite disappointed to find that Lux/Kurz was guild-based, not character-based.
b) I wish, before I'd spent a bunch of skill points on it, that I'd known that a combination Hydro/Aero was not so hot after all.
c) I wish I'd known that trying to combine dagger attacks with minion mastery sucks; all I ever use my dagger skills for now is Bison Tournament.
d) I wish I'd known how much Moa Chicks were worth. I was trying to get my first elite armor (E. Canthan), so I was saving money... and I passed up the chance to buy one for about 30k less than they were really going for (this was right after they were introduced; they were worth a TON). I coulda bought the armor right then if I'd gotten it to sell.

That mini pets would be given out for birthday, I have deleted 4 or more chars back in 2005...I deleted them because I had put those skill points (forgot what they were called) in a bad way and thought it was irreparable lol.
When I was a newb I kept making chars and deleting them, only my main is from August 05, 3 months after I actually started playing.
I also spent my 2 first months playing as a total noob not knowing what I did and not getting advice. I thought all the guilds were only l33t pro players who wouldnt accept a newb like me. Until I finally found a guild with nice people who were actually more or less as newbish as myself lol. But that doesnt matter, now we could talk and play together and learn together

I wish I hadn't tried dying one of my holding bags black... I guess I kind of assumed it would show me some sort of preview like they do with all the armor. It doesn't.
This was back when black dyes were worth tons. If you want to make your friends cry, tell them holding bags look awesome dyed black.
