A story still fits, just instead of a .txt or .doc place it in a .jpeg. Make sure that the final font size is easily readable though.

Bwahaha. Awesome, something I can enter!
14 Oct 2009 at 01:22 - 223
I think last year, or the year before, they let a machinima win/get a HM, but the rules were still the same. I dunno, you could try? ^^'
14 Oct 2009 at 01:23 - 224
I might just try that, then. Type it up in a pretty font in Photoshop on a painted/sketched background, or something like that, and see if it's legal as an entry.

If the weather doesn't change again I'll be taking my final pictures early this weekend. Come on sunny days.

oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear *panics* D8
I have to be super-quick and effective now >.<
btw:
I'd like to see more participants! If anyone's feeling reluctant to join in for some reason, don't! And remember that if you don't submit anything but the final product right before the deadline, you won't be legible for most of the prizes!
I've nothing against seeing a couple of people walking away with several awards, but I'd be happier if they were split between a larger amount of people. Not to say the thread isn't both successful and active, but I don't want people to hide in the shadows with their art for some obscure reason. There are so many happy helpers here, and a huge potential to allow both your skills and your artwork become a lot better before the deadline!

Okie, here are the models of my trick-or-treat bag and candy corn.
I'm very happy about the bag's texturing. Turned out so cute. ^_^
Btw, I left the distant light on again -.- so excuse the lighting

yaay ^__^ cant wait to read it.
and Minami, I'm not sure if you already know what you want to do with the summoning thing, but you could have your ritu creating a Mad King's Guard from candy corn, flowing out of the bag. :3

weheee finally got some time on my hands! as previously mentioned, I dumped the texmod idea - would have been awesome but I couldn't get it to work (even after I told my antivirus programme to stfu and ignore it, it wouldn't let me download the textures >.<). anyway. I'm here to post some progress on the new thing
not sure if it's safe for work or not yet, so you'll have to click here
needed to something in vectors, for some reason I was thinking of either a graveyard-death-scene or something the like... there will definitely be the evil moon in there, luvit. So yeah, not much to see yet, there will probably be more body-shading as well, but I wanted to get the margo-glo nailed down first

Vectors! I love vector art. Looks nice so far, Morag
Argh, we're doing nothing in class so far (we tricked the teacher into thinking our assignment is due next week), and I was dumb and didn't save my story on my flash drive. So I can't work on it until my break when I pull out my laptop arrrrgggh.
The basis of it is that two of my characters go to visit Lion's Arch, and it appears to be completely abandoned. Which is juuust a teeny bit odd. Turns out it's been haunted by something (haven't decided what yet) so they have to figure out what it is.

Hmm, interesting idea Tzu!
After I was finished with texturing the candy corn, I was thinking about a MKT's Guardian figure, but I want to finish my other idea first.
I'll try and see if I can put together a MKT's Guardian figure from my candy corn models.
I'll see if I can come up with a cool looking scene after I'm done with my initial idea. At least I'll have 2 pictures to choose from when I send in my pic. Too bad you can only send in one, but I understand why...

I has moar progress
is it too busy??
15 Oct 2009 at 14:10 - 235
Must admit its a bit busy yeah, tried how it looks without the grey in the wings? Also I would pick colours that lie closer to eachother, the grey in the hair could be lighter. Don't know, just suggesting
15 Oct 2009 at 14:12 - 236
I don't think it's too busy, I just find the wings a little odd. They are very mass like. Also wouldn't the wing parts on the right of the picture be brighter than the left because they are closer to the glowing? Makes them seem kind of twisted.

Thanks to Fril Estelin, we now have yet another Award to offer! ^.^

The Bonus award goes to someone who didn't get any of the other awards, but whom the judges still believed was worthy of one. This could be based on effort, positive energy, donations, or something else entirely.

DONE. Finally. The architecture was by far the most time consuming part on this entire piece. Anyways, I changed my camera settings to have more of a greenish hue to it. Also, I changed my light source when I was taking the picture which actually gave off a glowing nice effect on areas where I was really grinding pencil to paper.
As for the final piece, I used a little bit of Photoshop on the jack-o-lantern hammer to give it more of a glowing effect on the faces. Other than that, everything else is still purely pencil.
Anyways, here it is: Big Scary Warrior With a Halloween Weapon Spell
