uuuuhhhh lemme see the ability to kill fast and get out quick and you kno SHADOW FORM the skill half of gw hates because it makes people mony and nooo we dont want new little jonny having 10k now do we?
David Wooding
I play it now so I can imagine the look on a monk players face when I hit him with an unblockable combo through Guardian in PvP.
BlackSephir
Because I enjoy playing pyro. Simple and effective.
Eragon Zarroc
1. was brand new when factions came out

I started an assassin 2 years ago and had some fun. Left the game for a while, came back and mained a mesmer. Mesmer cop nerf hit and I got pissy so I switched to sin. Mainly play MS daggers and crit scythe. I use SF every now and again to sliver farm some things like DoA or raptors, but I mainly use my ele and monk to farm most things.
what makes me keep playing it? Eh, lots of high damage numbers flying around with very low downtime.
favorite skill? critical agility hands down.
least favorite: stigma associated with the class, specifically speed clears. I really dislike speed clears since I don't think it's the way the game was intended to be played.

What first attracted you to the class? ZOMFG NINJA
What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it? AL-ignoring Blossom damage
Any favorite skills? Wastrel's Collapse, Leaping Mantis Sting
What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could? Requires no execution skills whatsoever - a 'good sin' is defined by positional awareness above all else. Wouldn't change it because that would require effort on my part

Assassin? The idea is cool, they can pump damage, neat armor.
It's simply a class I play when I'm in the mood for it/requested. A lot of times people want me on my healer.
Locusts Fury, it is godly powerful, just need smart people to use it.
The chains attacks are awesome, I would change Shadow Stepping for PvE

Assassins provide a constant rate of high damage and with good heroes, they should not worry about taking damage.
Honestly, I started Assassins for Perma. However, now, I use mine for missions, PvE, dungeons, etc.
It's not Assassins fault for SF. It's ANET. Assassins were made for high-power melee, not speed clears and all that junk.

Attracted me? I had 15 char slots and 4 characters.
They pump out more domoge than warriors in PvE.
3, critical agility, cmon.
They is squishy

When I created my sin, EoTN had just came out, so I didn't actually heard about permas. I created him just to see Factions from the beggining, but nowadays just use him as a perma anyway

I needed to add another set of elite armor to the hall, so here we are.
Wastrel's Collapse is hands down my favorite skill.

Warvic
because it's my title hunter and i cba to start over with a new toon (war or ranger).
Serious, they are so boring after a while. So yh doing some titles and shadow form ofc :/
And in pvp they can be fun. for fast killing

i play mine when i'm too tired to think. the profession is one dimensional and simplistic enough that i can just run around on autopilot and still be effective.

What first attracted you to the class?
The speed and damage that it can pump out compared to the other melee classes
What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it?
The ability to farm and do great in PVP.
Any favorite skills?
It depends on what I'm doing. For PVP I love twisting fangs because it gives bleeding and deep wound, and Dash because of the ability for it to let the sin get in and out really quickly. For PVE Critical Agility because of speed buff, along with Death Blossom Moebus strike combo because of the mass and fast damage it pumps out.
What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could?
My least favorite aspect is their dependency on a backline and weakness to blocks, hexes, and blind.
A healer in the back is necessary for the Assassin in PVE along with GVG/HA because of their crappy healing skills, but all classes basically are.
They get majorly screwed the worse from blocks because it could deflect a vital move. As for the whole "squishy" thing and being spiked to death because of it... you just gotta learn how to switch to a shield set really quickly and kite damage. Plus, people are wrong. Sins have just as much armor as the Dervish. 70AL.

I originally played assassin because of damage and shadow stepping to avoid damage. It was fun and lead to pretty wild experiences back when their recharges were shorter.
sonofthort
I love spiking, kiting, lurking in the shadows, and also causing a rediculous amount of pressure and dps. These days I only play monk and assasin. I either like to heal, or effing blow stuff up in 4 seconds.
Tom Swift
Because it takes guts to fight on the front line with 70 al.
Munkypoo7
Although i most likely have have stupidest reason.. i play assassin for the armor... female vabbian armor is the most elegant armor set in the game (my personal opinion...)
Also, as far as melee goes, i LOVE daggers, yes we cant tank like warriors, we cant deal damage like other classes, but its just a fun class... idk maybe im just an idiot...
and as a note.. i REALLY hope they nerf SF, im tired of the idiotic SF farmers that give players like me and other sins such a crappy name, and i know for a fact that im not the only assassin player WANTING the SF nerf
last note, shadow stepping is soooo much fun to make any enemy useless :P

I like their armor.
Also even though their skill chains can annoy me at times due to requirements, its actually a fun little system. Too bad my heroes kill mobs too fast >_>.
I don't shadow form at all really. I do with my Ele for greens but that's it.

What first attracted you to the class? The "Thief/Rogue"/ aspect of the class of course.
What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it? Always loved the stealth or quick high damage classes..Like Rogues or Thiefs in other games..Shadowstepping+Daggers+Quick deaths to 60 Al's is just fun to me ^^
Any favorite skills? Wastrel's Collapse..Couple More, Can't name them off the top of my head at the moment.
What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could? Absolutely not, It takes patience..Knowing your target, and good timing in my opinion. Requires no fixing.

"cuz sins r da best at pvp, they can 1v1 an thing"
Coolpb
Soooo many reasons why I play my Assassin, the least of which is Shadow Form.
1) Great looking armor
2) Unblockable Dagger Chains FTW
3) Shadow-Stepping though not ultimately effective is still fun
4) Yeah, Shadow Form. I use it, who hasn't. But I'll live without it if IT happens...
5) How many classes can Assassins play effectively? Critical Scythe, Critical Barrage, Critical Sword if you wanted. Not to mention Daggers again...
6) And in a twisted kind of way it's fun to see people rant about assassins and how over used they are.
Did I mention Katanas? Ninja FTW

I'll tell you why I play sin (among my other chars) now....
1. Crit scythe build is fun as hell
2. Can run many of the zbounty/zmish for my other acct (and vice versa)

I first made my Assassin because I had just gotten Factions, and wanted to create a new character. I picked Assassin because I like to try and replicate various RP characters of mine, and I was able to do so the most easily with that profession for a certain character of mine.
Honestly, I really don't play my Assassin much anymore. She was my main for a short time, the first character I fully leveled up, but once I got Nightfall and made my Dervish my Assassin started to collect dust. She's finished most of EOTN and gotten Monument armor, but that's about it. I haven't even gotten far enough through Factions to get Moebius Strike, and I just really can't come up with anything I like to play with as her. I've done both crit scythe and crit Barrage and I really don't care much for either. I like using daggers, but dagger chains basically consist of "roll your face on the keyboard and you're good".

i normally play warrior for pvp (i mean who the hell plays a sin in gvg O.o, besides sinsplit ofc =P)
normally i play it running a random funky build in ab for laughs and it's also my main in pve =P

Because I need a Melee pg, I don't like Warrior (too slow) and I think Dervish is less powerful than an Assassin.
Now I love my Moebius Strike build, very funny to play.
Then, I think this 3d is so mischevious because, for half of GW, Assassin = SF, the other half hates SF. I'm here to explain my idea. I didn't hate SF, I hate the abuse of SF. Just for information, has someone read the description of Skeleton of Dhuum introduced is UW for Halloween event? If you didn't, I report last line:

Skeletons of Dhuum were introduced to help curb the practice of speed clearing and solo farming in the Underworld, as their attacks ignore most defensive skills including Shadow Form.

Just see that PvX has the SPEED CLEAR category. I'll report the descritpion:

Agreed. Sins are easier to play, and usually a bad player is "ok" with a sin but a bad player playing a war is "PvE this way --->" basically. Wars require a brain to play effectively .
Controversy A select group of players were initially driven to faster times by a series of competitive threads on GWGuru, where it was first shown that speed clears halved the time of conventional builds. In response to the change in Ursan Blessing, speed clears became mainstream and the average time to complete elite areas significantly dropped. As a result, speed clear builds were, and still are, the focus of skill changes in PvE. Examples of this include the previous changes in Cry of Pain and Ray of Judgment and the imminent change to Shadow Form. M @ T
I liked the step in, attack, step out thing on sins. Used him in GvGs to gang.. It dropped out of meta and then deleted. Too boring to play imo, Warriors are far more interesting.
