Thank God!!! I really hope that is NCsoft taking the password reset site down! If so thank you very much NCsoft!!

I have reviewed your comments regarding our replacement policy. The Guild Wars Support Team does not have the functionality or the tools available to replace items or characters that were lost or stolen; nor do we have the ability to revert specific characters or accounts to a previous state. Your game account was blocked as soon as we received your support ticket regarding the password reset.

Our records show that a member of a Real-Money Trading (RMT) organization was able to access your account. These RMT workers are not "real" Guild Wars players. They do not have a main account to which all of your items have been moved. As soon as they were able to access your account they would have sold off any high end items and combined that gold with any gold already on your account to deliver to their customers. The Support Team goes to great lengths to prevent these RMT people from accessing our servers, and we block hundreds of accounts a week for RMT related activity. All the accounts that traded with your account while it was compromised have been investigated and blocked accordingly. Unfortunately, these companies steal account information from actual players and use stolen credit cards to purchase new accounts to continue their black-market activities.

In otherwords, they know they got hacked and wont do anything about it. even though they got hacked.

I have no need to reset my password. It's personal, I have never used it for anything else, and never will. The only way someone would get it is if they actually knew me in real life, but they would most likely still get it wrong.

Oh, and I hate to be sounding like a noob, but what is XTH?

ok...everyone CHANGE YOUR pass words!!! I just got some info from a dear friend of mine. He says, "There has been a security breech in the gw server. Someone, somewhere bypassed all security programs and got into the main system, went into the player info area, grabbed a "handful" of PWs + Account names. Arena Net is denying this information only because if the public were told, they would panic. Change your PW right away!"

Don't forget to use upper AND lower case letters along with at least 1 number.

It's not always a good idea to believe everything that your friends tell you. Unless he was there, he doesn't know what happened.

Ive changed my password and now i cant login at all

Um.... make sure caps lock isn't on... Perhaps it didn't get changed so- use your old pw.

erm...he's up there in Anet. He knows stuff b4 it happens, etc.

Lol caps isn't on . But ive tried everything I can think of I bought the factions addon 2 days ago and it was fine untill today . Ive raised a question this morning on the web based support system but haven't had a response , its a bit dissapointing really as i bought the add on so i could get stuck into it while i have a couple of days off work but one has gone already . anyone know how long it takes the support team to actually answer ? They must have changed my pswd to the new one as thats the one im using on the web support login. but i have also tried the old one.

Thanks for that Ive had a mooch but i cant see a solution my pswd is under 13 chars long with no symbols , I just wish ncsoft would reply and let me know what they are trying to do to sort it.

It's not hard to figure what does it.

1. Yay! You got accepted into the guild! Now, you go register at their guild site.
2. Okay, you've been in the guild for long, nothings happened, it's a nice guild.
3. Now, either 3a, 3b or 3c can happen:
3a. Guild leader wants some money! He opens the mysql database and boom! There is all the information that he could ever want. Also, since you're in his guild, he knows your char!
3b. Oh no! A hacker has made it into the guild site, no one knowing it. Now he has gotten all the information about your account, and he's abusing it.
3c. You left the guild. Now, the guild leader doesn't like leavers so... He opens the mysql database and boom! There is all the information that he could ever want. Also, since you're in his guild log for leavers, he knows your char!

And that's the most common way of scams.

only if you're stupid enough to use the same login and password on forums as your GW account. And Anet and the communities are pretty clear on not doing that.

Anyway, still no answer to the question on how to ADD an account you're playing to your PlayNC account...

Where's this Mysql database I'm supposed to be able to open? And how did my guild members passwords get in it?
