Keep the quadruple points towards the Allegiance titles and double the book-points.

In light of the double Kurzick/Luxon points weekend, I wish to propose that this buff is made into a permanent addition, with the bonus weekends then doubling the points.
That would mean that for 5k donated faction your Kurzick or Luxon title advances by 20k instead of the usual 10k. And that would mean that when the bonus weekend comes rolling into town, 5k donated faction turns into 40k towards the title.
In regards to the books - I propose that each book gives double the faction it does now, meaning that a full NM book would give 80k points and a full HM book would give 240k points.

There isn't any skill>time (lol) involved in maxing those titles anyways, so Anet might as well make them easier to get (again). That way, people can get their GWAMM faster, fill op their HoM sooner and quit the game already.
Nechrond
Why? Need it for your GWAMM? You'll have to work for it like everyone else. I see no reason for this change.
EDIT: Now I wish I'd just said "Fee, fie, foh, fum, I smell the blood of a wannabe-GWAMM!"

Wait, isn't the norm, after one donates 5k in faction, they receive 10k? If this doubles =20k? Not 40k.

While I don't agree with the idea of doubling the points as an ongoing game change. I would like to see this weekend event and others extended to run over the course of a week and then change again every friday or something.

Well the math is like this:
If you do everything that gives PvE Luxon points (that means quests, VQin all foes on the map in NM and HM while under the blessing, The Deep) and donate books you should get to around 350k faction. Which means that completing the game on one character should push you to around 700k point in a 10 million title.
And that means to max the title - you just need to do that again on 14 characters.
Simply VQing all the areas again should give you some around 120k faction, which means around 250k donated. And that means around 35 additional VQs of the whole Jade Sea.
Doubling the points towards the title/book points would approximately cut this in half. While this is still a pretty hefty amount of grinding - because it still means more than 15 complete VQs of the Jade Sea - it also means that you could pretty much max this title by completing the game on all the guys on your 8-slot account. Which sounds SLIGHTLY more reasonable.
5k for 10k points.
Double weekend means 5k for 20k points.
What I propose is 5k ALWAYS turning into 20k.
And that would mean that when the double faction weekend rolls into town, it doubles the already quadrupled amount - turning 5k into 40k - or 5 times 4 times 2.

Double minutes gained drunk for all alcohol too then. Why should people spend 10k minutes drinking, let them drink the same amount of booze, but max the title in 5k minutes instead (DOUBLE!!!).
Double the Party Points for all fireworks and tonics too.
Double the Sweet points for all candy too.
Although I have not maxed either Alliance title, I would not like to see this happen. Sure, the titles are a long grind, but the variety of sources of points makes it less boring than most. FA, JQ, and AB all provide PvP options for points. Quests (a few repeatable) and vanquishing provide PvE options. Zaishen quests provide more, as do the Young Heroes book and the Shiro book. And as you mentioned, it is an account based title, so yuo are not stuck doing it all on one character.

when they nerf the means to achieve something, they should make it achievable a bit easier.
no DSC/MQSC after the update? let people get their titles without spending more time to get one title than playing everything else.
i've maxed kurzick already - through dsc, mostly as a tank - and i've got luxon in my hom, so i don't really care. but i see the insanity that comes from no-more-sc and getting the allegiance title.
e: @Magma - i've maxed all cons titles and kurzick title. kurzick title is by far the worst, the most boring and longest to max, even with dsc. i've played jq, fa, ab, i've done zb, i've even done three hm books to get some variety. if you were at 8+M in title, you'd know what pain it is, even with those 'multiple sources'.

The title is already a joke to get. Yes it a bit of a grind, but its also very profitable. I can't count how many r9/r8 Oni Blades/daggers i got while doing that run that sold for a descent amount of cash.
DTSC and MQSC really aren't that hard, and are actually kind of fun. If you enjoy farming, then you will enjoy the runs.

With respect to the OP, I'd say the Live Team definitely missed the boat with the title rebalance and not substantially decreasing the number of total points needed. The extra points for vanquishing and doing certain missions was a nice addition, but to make the title something that can realistically be obtained without sacrificing months of one's life, either the points required should be reduced or the points granted should be increased. Especially when these ranks are tied to skill usage and every other PvE skill fitting that mold can be maxed MUCH faster.

I disagree. i say to hell with the speedclear generation. Learn to play or quit. And unless you max these titles they way they were ment i.e AB; JQ or FA; your a nobody! I quit HFFF afther r1 Kurzic. Boring; and i dont bot. I like to earn my titles. Good thing they got rid of HFFF. And I also seem to recall that when HFFF was around the amount of faction rewarded was half of what it is today. So; if anything the difficulty to max them has been duped down allready.

Although I would go even lower than just halving the grind.
You know, I don't just like playing my assassin. I also like the ranger. And I am really intrigued by the warrior. Mesmer - sweet also! Para? Heck yeah!
The problem with all these heavy grind titles is that I am pretty much forced to play just one guy. If my assassin needs Sweet points or Vanguard, it doesn't make sense to use sweets or play Vanguard areas on other guys. Because it just means I am not moving forward on my main guy.
So, a lower max tier for these titles would mean that players can get back to playing the game with multiple guys. This would bring back experiencing the game from multiple views - increasing it's longevity - and it would mean that players do not need to do everything on EVERY guy. That way the player could switch among his guys and bring the one that is best suited for a job - instead of needing to do everything on his main.
I still fondly remember grouping up for FoW, seeing that I might be more beneficial to the team on a different guy and then switching to that guy. These days, I am there on my assassin, and they can take it or leave it. I just can not justify playing on a different guy when my assassin needs to be played to get near the max tier for the grind- and 10k consumables-titles.

I am at around 5 mil Luxon faction.
And let's not forget how broken that map is.
I also remember wanting to do AB on one of the ZQuest days. I got a friend to tag along and told him to meet me in AB-EU-E1.
Upon arrival, we were the only two people there.
So we jumped to the US servers, and the US1 district wasn't full.
On a ZQuest night.
You PvE for these titles.

well they are gonna nerf 600/smite and sf, so i'm guessing that is the end of dtsc's.... but still notsigned jade quarry will still give off enough kurzick faction to get it maxed, and idk where i'll pick up the suxon title at cuz they are usually no good anywhere.

You know what else? If you made Minister Cho's Estate mission net you 2m Luxon/Kurzick points each time you complete it! In Normal mode! Then people would max Luxon really fast!
..why? why on earth would they do this? Seems a bit arbitrary at least. What would be the purpose of this change? To further devalue the title? I gained half of my points when donating 5k got you... 5k towards the title! Makes me more proud of where I am now.
I say leave the title as it is and you just put some freaking work in for your rewards.

Yeah, I was never fond of these titles to begin with. Thats why I only focus on Gameplay titles such as protector or vanquisher.
A title where you have to click on an icon in your inventory every minute or Vanquish the same area over and OVER and OVER AND OVER again, is just kind of silly. Especially if the farm for it is easy and not work at all. It's a joke.
I can understand the PvP titles (gladiator/heros ascent, NOT kurz/lux), becuase PvP is constantly changing and you face different enemies...usually. So you are never REALLY doing the same thing.
All these grind titles need (A) a rework or (B) to be removed in my opinion lol.

I have a better idea. how about Anet revert these titles to the way they were before; and remove all the vanquish/ book crap. They were intended to be pvp titles not pve.

I could care less whether the allegiance faction was doubled, although it would be nice, I'm max on both at this point and it was a farming title, not a playing title.
Although, books, on the other hand. I could go for upwards of quadrupling these points.
And as far as upiers argument on being forced to play one character until your money titles are maxed, QFT, I hated not using consumables on my other toons just because I hadn't maxed on my main yet. Or just make them account wide.

OMG I like have one character and I think he/she should be GWaMM; but since I don't want to actually play more then a little bit you should make them easier. So here are some suggestions to make my life easier
Legendary Guardian - Successfully complete one escort type quest in each campaign. In order to make this possible for people who can't heal the person escorted will be invincible
Grandmaster Cartographer - Map to every town in all 3 campaigns
Grandmaster Treasure hunter - Find a chest and get a gold drop from it while retaining your lockpick
Oracle Of wisdom - consume an complete Superior ID kit (for those who can't afford a superior ID kit, ANET will consider your case if you submit a letter explaining why you shouldn't have to grind out enough gold to purchase said kit)
Savior of Kurzick/Luxon - Win at AB while simultaneously telling the other team they suck.
Blessed by Fate- Throw a 10000 sided dice and guess if the result will be higher or lower then 10
Cursed by Fate - Get the above wrong
Legendary Skill hunter - Find every skill trainer in every campaign (If you can't find them all there will be an NPC to unlock them in the Great Temple of Balthazar)
Legendary Survivor - Maintain SF for 21 Seconds for 45 seconds. (If you can't find SF you can watch somebody else do it.)
well anyway you get the idea.
Please stop whining on the forums. Every week its someone bitchin about how this title or that title is to hard to get; or how you can't afford an Obsidian Edge and don't have the time to do FoW for it. Just give it up already titles are supposed to be a sign of achievement and whether it be a grind or not they are to distinguish those who put in time and effort from those who don't. As it is the titles are not THAT hard to get and sure they take some time but they are basically nothing more then cosmetic as there is no significant skill advantage to the higher levels. I am a fairly casual player (<10 hours a week) and I managed to get Savior of the Kurzicks in a few months.

I say the books should be redone.
Right now, they are worthless, providing far too few points (not faction, points, you can't turn them in for anything or double them) for the amount of time spent.
Take the approximate gain by HFFF per hour. Take the times for the missions across cantha, based on Normal/Expert/Master. Make the books provide equal faction as if someone was using HFFF for an equal period of time. Viola! Less boredom, more people in older areas, better faction gain.

Those titles were by far the best when they were not realistically max'able by anyone, just like PvP titles, and instead there was a huge variety of ranks among people.
Now the titles are completely ruined, they got ruined when they became realistically max'able (through HFFF mainly), but it wasn't the end yet, after next updates these titles are not only realistically, they are EASILY MAX'able already!
I got my r8 Kurzick (2.5M Faction) the way of honor - PvP only, almost only AB, in the first year. It was far from great but then it mattered far more than a max does now. It was a PvP title then, not a grind title. HFFF ofcourse ruined that.
I got to r10 Kurzick (5M Faction - double the amount) after the massive update that nerfed HFFF, also the way of honor - doing PvP only - but this time mainly JQ/FA, it took me 2 double events (sacrificed 1 day per event). Crazy sickness - I got the same amount of faction as a year of AB'ing (casually but mainly during x2 events) in just 2 days!
But it was not the end yet. Since another double faction came the next weekend, I tried the DTSC thing and after seeing the INSANE faction gain rates, I've left the path of honor forever. It took me 1 day of farming that shit to go from R10->R11 and some more. Over 3 million faction in 1 day OMGWTF.
When next such event came, I've just hit the max R12=10M. Extremelly LAME.
I have felt far better with R8 back then than with max now.
When not max'able at all the title didn't feel like a grind title at all since nobody felt they had to max it. It was just playing and getting higher ranks slowly.
Max'able titles are WRONG - if there's a max that can be realistically obtained then everyone feels "forced" to get max, the title degenerates into MAX or CRAP.
