What fun is there to be had in GW PVE after completing each game other than grinding titles and farming? Making more PVE characters is incredibly dull and unrewarding, I have tried this myself. Focusing on one character and simply grinding and farming is the kind of gameplay that GW promotes because everything in the game is just repetitive and tedious, and farming at least gives you something for your time spent.

For a lot of RPG players, loot and equips are what make the game enjoyable, to do this in GW they need to farm. If other people have any kind of problem with how anyone else personally enjoys playing a video game, they are just being ridiculously stupid.

If you dont like farming, then dont farm. But do STFU and quit complaining about other people choosing to farm because that is how they enjoy playing.

And if people choose to farm, then that is their choice alone to play as they like. If they enjoy doing that, it is not up to you to tell them how they should be playing just because you dont enjoy other peoples playstyle.

IDK about a lot of this talk. I have been in groups where we have beaten dungeons faster than some 600/smite teams could get through them, and the obvious dungeons where people were supposedly running you through them but required you to use heals and PI, and, "Run to this spot". I salvaged my items off of my 3 600/Smite characters(monk, rit, ele) and moved on. I even salvaged my obby flesh(not obsidian) armor. It's called meta. If you can't find a way to have fun in a group with blood bond/barbed sig/dwayna's sorrow/SV then you shouldn't play this game. IF Dwarven Battle Stance doesn't make you want to play a warrior...then move on to one of thousands of other games for a few months(six or more) until the next update. Check back in and see if the meta then is interesting to you. Until then, shut your yappers because you had a 6 month warning form the developers that this update was on its way. That was far more than enough time to realize that maybe GW wasn't going to be your cup of team anymore.

this is a question i always enjoy asking farmers:

if farming offered no reward, would you still farm?

how bout instead of killing monsters, we just give you farmers a big button that says [press me for ecto]. and so all you had to do to get rich in this game was click this button for hours on end. its sad, but i'm certain a large percentage of them would actually do this.

Well, there wouldnt be any fun in just clicking a button.

Likewise, would you play the game if no items, weapons, or gold dropped, and if there was no armor or any kind of inventory system? I doubt many people would.

Killing monsters is all that PVE involves. The storyline is only really enjoyable for the first time. Whether you farm, do quests, or do vanqs, all three are exactly the same. But some people like to collect the drops from certain monsters and play in such a way. There is still enjoyment involved as opposed to just clicking on a button.

Exactly the point that people should stop taking a game so seriously and leave other people alone to play as they enjoy, be it group play, solo play or farming. It doesnt affect you anywhere near as much, and all that such complainers are trying to do is to take the yarn away from the knitters because they are so obsessed and bothered over how other people knit.

^yes, i still would pvp. and im certain a large % would say yes--at least compared to farmers. (although this is fairly a bad time to ask, since it is quite in a broken state atm)

The only thing wrong with farming is if it doesn't match to what the developers have presented us.

If going in an area solo is the most profitable method to amassing cash - and thus every single item in the world of Guild Wars - then you're not going to see high-end areas too popular, and it will largely be a "just for fun" experience. Whether or not this is best for the game is open for discussion.

Loot drives quite a lot of people. Just look at WoW. Nothing wrong with it.

Would you still PVP if there was a 'Click here to win' button?

The first team to click it wins, GG. Fast Click bot LFG for PVP.

What if there was a 'Click here for 20 fame / Glad Points' button? So all you had to do to get your PVP titles was click on the button? I'm certain a large percentage of PVP players would be clicking in on it endlessly untill they starved to death.

Ok ok, for balance reasons, you can only use the +20 fame button while you are actually inside a PVP match ...... Imagine if this happened, how many PVP players would stand in PVP simply clicking the button instead of playing?

Oh, lets not forget about ladder fixing, rolling, paper rock scissors, IWAY, etc etc etc, all the methods used to farm points in PVP.
