I'm not counting down until it becomes more than Vaporware, which it still is for me. Considering how long its taken for Blizzard to get from D2 to D3, then who knows when GW2 will appear (except anet dont have wow proceeds to live off, so there may be more urgency to throw out a product).

so is it true you will have to have all the expansions and beat them all + gwamm title to start a character in gw2?

We just got new info that indeed at the 5th anniversary (or after that, it is unclear) we will get new content that will bridge GW1-GW2 Check the thread with the new interview:
