To everyone who says Anet has killed then fun.
To Chicken To Die
How A-net ruined the game? They made pugging less attractive then solo or H/H partys. The players only made use of this and therefore got bored fast. Now there are hardly any pugs now there bored and willing to pug again. So player kinda ruined the game because A-net made it possible and easy. (well for PvE that is. PvP is just non balanced first to spike wins game)

ANet did take the fun out of it by... Making it harder to play and not offering new rewards... New skins, new armor, should be added to keep interest up.

The only thing I've noticed "new" to the game in awhile is when they put Dhuum into UW.

The fun was killed by the lack of skill updates.Pvp suffered a good amount of losses from that.Anyone saying that a skill update killed the game is a freaking dummy.

All of the skills you listed could either be defended against with an anti-KD skill, healed up relatively easily with a single healing skill, or just avoided entirely by farming something else because the skills are so uncommon. Low energy...come on, if you did more than 10 or 20 runs, you never ran out of energy, because it was the same thing every time.
No single other skill provided such blanket protection. It was the single most-used farming skill in the game, and certainly the easiest way to make yourself completely untouchable to a large number of mobs. It was out of line with other defensive skills in the game, period, end of story, stop trying to argue otherwise, IT'S DONE ALREADY.

hmmm yeah but u aint unstoppable.. that was my point. . the incubus in bogroots made the dungeon hell. and i think u forget 55 blessed griffins when tyria came out, that provided blanket protection i don't see 55 being nerfed. so what if people where doing dungeons really quick it just meant prices were cheaper for regular players people were rich if they were dedicated to farming and i didnt really see that many poeple complaining cos really basically everyone bought soemthing that had in someway been connected to a perma.

Just my two cents:
Everyone who complains that GW is "dead" needs to go sign up for a 14 day free trial of Ultima Online.

What a mind numbingly stupid thing to say!
To make a few things clear:
1. Various skills were defo over-powered
2. I feel sorry for those who were using those skills for their own benefit
3. I don't feel sorry for those who were using those skills to earn 25K from each player to do speedbook, for instance.
Imho these last were the people who were ruining the game and good riddance!
The game is about ingenuity and giving at least a little thought to what you're doing instead of simply copying what everyone else is ploughing on at.
A little thought on the side: If I was preparing a new version of a product, how would I make that product more interesting? It's called Phasing-out or Running-down. Ring any bells?
Tips cap and moves on, my 5 cents done

I think the last bit of fun, for me, went away when ArenaNet nerfed 600/smite.
At least with 600/smite I was vanquishing.
Now, however, I went back to Diablo 2 and am having actual fun.

Agreed, if skill nerfs were accomanied by boosts in rewards, probably hardly anyone would complain. Good idea! Because making things harder without improving rewards always makes people drop out. Both in games and real life.

yeah check when those were released; whats that i hear u say a year ago, my god they have been busy.
i know its hard for the team with only like 4 people on it but seriously it would be cool to see some more dungeons weapons or heck titles to grind for. and also the few u name are bascically it apart from maybe dhummn, but lets not talk about dhummn.
Make a twelve man dungeon which has levels of incubus and other hard stuff make it 7 levels and make it fun with the z chest at the end. (this is totally random and i know 101 things are wrong with it but cmon!!!)

A little off subject but like many people have said if the nerf some stuff but add new content to replace the nerf stuff I would love to see added just because Guild Wars 2 is right around the corner is giant anime swords like from FF7 just for shits a giggles.
YunSooJin
yeah.. giant anime swords would sum up beautifully the POS GW has become :/

They're working on GW2, so we're not getting much new content. Are those grounds for never balancing the game again? Hell, if it shakes things up a bit, that'd be a good thing if you're bored, right? Because you get to come up with new builds to do whatever farming you wanted, right? Oh, you just wanted to repeat the same farms that you've been doing for the past 2 years, I get it....

We had to wait for about half a yr for a skills update and the game population dropped big time on the pvp side. I do not care if anyones fav build got nerfed because there are plenty of other overpowered build options in pve.

In single player.
GW is no single player. You may play quite LIKE single player with H/H, but you are not really in single player even then.
IT's ncredible how people get lazy in playing a game like that.
Hey! What are you playing for?
TO FILL BARS?
Ok, filling bars is fun, everybody loves filling bars, but you should not let bars control you.
I play, therefore I fill bars. But not the other way around!
You eat to live, you don't live to eat!
You play to have fun, and fill bars in the process, you don't play to fill bars, and have fun in the process!

It wasn't so much about killing the my fun, but more like reducing my income. Instead of 600/smite (team of 2) Nebo Terrace to North Kryta Province and back to Nebo, and filling my inventory to overflowing with all sorts of drops, I now run with 3 necro heroes (team of 4) and cannot fill my inventory after 2 complete runs.
My last guild mate and personal friend for 18+ years, has all but quit playing when he could no longer farm the same area with his monk. It took me a month to teach him how to run the build. He has health issues (on disability) that makes certain tasks very difficult to impossible for him to learn. His game now consists of Nicholas the Traveler and farming what he wants. You may say so what? This guy would log on at 4:00a and 600/smite till past noon. Take a 2 hour break, then continue until bedtime, 7 days a week. Now he plays maybe 2 hours a week, just to give me all the alcohol he finds. For him, the "fun" is gone.
When I find a new game that I like and I think it is within his ability to learn, GW will fade into the sunset for us as has DS, D2, and others.

Surely if you resorted to farming to make money you couldn't be skilled in any significant way. Of course, anyone who knows anything about GW can understand the need for skill nerfings.

Amazingly, BG is a single player RPG, whereas GW is supposed to be a MMO. And yet the gameplay for many in PvE is EXACTLY the same. Your logic fails.

So stop forcing your perceptions and preferences down everyone else's throats. The main problem on this forum is everyone's intolerance of other's viewpoints. Whether you support nerfing or are against it, loved SF speedclears or hated them, the common binding thread is that 99% of you could never come up with a compelling and logical argument to support your viewpoints, and usually just relied on terrible conjecture and pulling statistics out of your donkeys/thin air.
Bottom line is, ANet has not lived up to their original promise of content release and business model, instead relying on extremely repetitive gameplay along with an unspecified reward for HoM titles to entice players to stick around and wait to see what is coming around the corner. Relying on a dangling carrot to encourage your playerbase to play a waiting game for a game that isn't even real yet is not a good way of engendering consumer or brand loyalty IMHO.
If ANet really wanted to prove their sincerity about the game franchise, they'd start by stating exactly what the HoM will allow in GW2, so that all these potentially aspiring GWAMMs would know exactly what their effort was worth. The ONLY purpose behind keeping players in the dark is that dangling carrot, by not knowing, the playerbase "errs on the side of caution" and sticks around anyways IN CASE its good.
As we've seen from ANet these past years though, that's highly unlikely.

Please explain how playing GW in H/H mode is not single player? Its just you, playing by yourself, with up to 7 other NPCs. I can do almost the same thing in Baldur's Gate, just 5 other psrty members there. And last I checked BG was single player. Oh you COULD play online with others if you felt like it, of course they usually sucked and got your party killed.

If GW economy was static, then GW PvE could very well be considered a Single player game with the ability to co-op online.

While some people enjoy "power trading" and speculating on ecto prices and feather futures, I hardly think that classifies GW as multiplayer. If one of the end-game missions was to outbid Shiro and the Lich on a crystalline sword, with Kanaxai presiding as the auctioneer, then yeah I could see "economy" as constituting the multiplayer element of GW.
However, as a game whose means to an end generally is mass murder of billions of monstrous mooks, I really don't think the "gameplay" of spamming WTS in Kamadan qualifies as a multiplayer element, especially when the multiplay interaction is limited to the ten seconds of putting your crap in the trade window and hitting accept.
Apart from that crap, GW is (or has become over its lifetime) nearly an entirely single player experience, especially given the advent of Heroes. ANet should just give in and allow players to cart along seven Heroes, rather than crappy Henchmen with stupid skillbars.
