I received an email this afternoon from a company posing as NCSoft... thought it was pretty funny.
When you receive this message at the same time means that you have a routine account of our recent examination, was cecking your account we have the evidence to prove that involved in the controversial game currency transaction so we had to take the necessary measures Please visit our web site uk.ncsoft.com/ as soon as possible to activate your account Aion or we will suspend your account
The NCsoft Team.

1. I live in America, not the UK.
2. This is Guild Wars, not Aion....
3. I have to activate my account so they don't suspend it... yet it's accused of currency transaction... so wouldn't I have had to activate my account in order to do the transaction?

If you get an email like this, don't go and prentend to activate your imaginary Aion account.

I keep getting those for face book, wanting me to go to s asupport site and reenter my password and such.

I don't use face book, I like to socialize with real people at the bar down the street instead of whatever the hell facebook does.

For epic lulz, You should screw with the guy, try and pretend to be someone he knows, or just give him long lists of fake account credentials.

and why do they have such atrocious spelling and grammar? It seems like some sort of hacker code that there must be at least one misspelled word in their text.

Thats what you get from using Chinese conders and distributors from Korea... The Chineese cant understand teh Koreans and decide to use a Romanian transloator who can only work if the text is written in Hebrew to translate it as follows: Chineese-> Hebrew-> Romanian-> Korean-> English(ish).

Seeing like that, its a pretty amazing feat that the letters are even the right way up in the end.

I played WoW and Aion I never get these emails. Maybe they only target rich players? So my question is.. Are the targets of those emails rich? please answer

On a serious note, this is exactly what we should do. If most people receiving theese emails enter 1-4 fake information, it will result in thousands of fake data that they have to try go through.

In fact, Anet/NCsoft should have bots for this for everytime a phishing attempt is reported to spam it with fake data. It should be recorded so if someone later tries to enter any of this fake data, it will make ALL further attempts to login to fail from that particular IP. Even a genuine account will then look like it was fake data.
