Thackeray Scavanger Hunt

With the new build, other than the Shining Blade camp they added a new scavanger hunt from Thackray. After you listen to all his dialoges with Gwen go outside of the EoTN and talk to him. He takes sweets,ales and food(?) in exchange for random items. Also he is looking for candles.

The Shining Blade Camp they added its part of the Obey vs Dismantle war going on. I sudjest you go read all the 90 pages in GW2 guru :P They can be found if you go look aroud ToA but someone said you need to finish EoTN to see them.

Ok, i went to the HoM and listened to Thackery's and Gwen's entire exchange about the tea, but I can't find him to get a quest from him. I looked in both in EotN in Ice Cliff Chasms just in the immediate area, but no Thackery. Where is he supposed to spawn?

Ok, thx. I went back in and they talked about running thru the forest and swimmiing in rivers at midnight. Gwen told him she wasn't a ranger and get lost. I'll keep trying. Thx for the tip.

Candles gets you a gold backpack from him to. You can get them at Sardalec Sanctum (Or however its spelt), from Necromander Munne (In exchange for 3 honeycombs).

After you give the main items(those that give a gold reward) and go in HoM again Gwen rejects Thackeray He still collects items though.

So far all the alcohol I gave him are not good enough, the only thing I don't have anymore is Hard apple cider. I can't believe that he is searching for something you cannot get in game :/

He won't actually spawn until you walk towards Gwen, standing where you spawn doesn't seem to trigger him.

So...what's the point of this exactly? Anyone have any ideas? Just another way to get some items similar to Nick but with both decent and not-so-decent items (at least from the looks of it)?
Also, how many packages can you get from Thackeray? Just one or can you trade with him more than once?

Well, I got from gold packages:-

The character hadnt finished proph but the account had. There are about 4 or 5 conversations you need to go through before he appears outside (lots of zoning in and out).
