Thackeray Scavanger Hunt

Iam trying to give him a Herring and see what happens. Can anyone try some of the Halloween items and the Bottle of grog?

Just tried to give him a golden egg, but he refuses and says something about him not being a golden goose....and candy canes aren't accepted because they aren't related to birthdays.

You can give him 3 of each lesser items. After that you cant give him anything anymore. No new dialog after you give the main 3 items too so i guess all we can do is wait.

So can we get more than one gift from the old bean? per character, I mean.

Ah, so one gift for each "main" item for a total of 3 "Paper Wrapped Parcels". And three 'minor' gifts as well then?

I hope this is around for a bit. I'm going to need some time to do this on all my characters.

4 paper wrapped parcels. One for the drake kabob, one for the cupcake, one for the cider, and one for the candles.

Once you've got the main four items for him, you get the conversation option to ask him why he's almost got all the things he needs....his reply triggers the last conversation in the HoM when you go to see Gwen. You don't need to get any of the minor gifts.

Man, I hope I didn't use those honeycombs towards the sweet tooth title O_O

Maybe i should stock up on charr hides and carvings for the next quest?

So all this charr and linking to gw2, now the seem to be going to Grothmar Wardowns and before the vanguard where in dalada uplands, all around that big dragon like creature in the lake.

Could someone please grab Thackray's collector dialogue (before giving him anything) and post it to the wiki? (or post here and I'll add to the wiki). He doesn't repeat his plans after you give him what he needs..

Well when you leave eotn when you see him for the first time his dialogue (in team chat) is:

UNOXani seems to be right... each character needs to complete EotN to see Thackaray in HoM. But entering the HoM solo or not made no difference for me.

I'm betting there's a rare/valuable item to be found in the paper-wrapped parcels. But not by by me... my results below. Not sure I can be bothered to finish EotN on any more characters, just for this.

16 paper Wrapped Parcels:
3 arctic summoning stones
5 Diessa Chalices
3 Scrolls of Resurrection
1 Powerstone of Courage
1 Armor of Salvation
3 Fossilized Summoning Stones
3 Stars of Transference
3 Golden Rin Relics
3 Chitinous Summoning Stones

The 48 Bags of Random Junk gave me 3 different summoning stones, 2 x 2 Monstrous Claws, 1 Tempered Glass Vial, and a scroll of rez. The rest were all common crafting materials, or trophies - the amounts vary in each bag eg. 3 Dredge Charms from one bag, 4 Dredge charms from another bag.

Take advantage of this, I've been selling complete sets for 25k each, made a little over 400k in 2 - 3 hours.

My Random Junk bags gave me 2 portions of Piles of Elemental Dust that won't stack together.

I've had him appear and I have not completed EotN with any of my characters.

Tried now with another that has only got to the EotN, and he does not appear. Maybe the char needs to have completed a certain amount or reach a certain rank in some or all eotn titles ?

Just for those having the same issues I had.....

1) You have to have the dialog completed between Gwen and Thackeray in HoM b4 he will appear outside EotN. (this means all dialog...you'll have to zone in and out several times)(Gwen will say "Wait. What did I just agree to?" when dialog is complete)

2) After talking to him outside, then u can trade Necromancer Muune (3 honeycombs) for 6 candies.

3) Return to him right outside Eotn and trade for Parcels or bags of crap

Yes I was standing in front of Munne yelling at her why she wouldn't take my honeycombs. Turns out you have to activate Thackeray outside eotn first.


Also, Thackeray doesn't come into the HoM of my necro (has only done finding the bloodstone and curse of the nornbear), but teaming up with my second account's rit (completed eotn) did bring him in. So just team up with a char who does activate Thackeray and you can get him on those chars as well.

I gave Thackery a bottle of rice wine and got a bag, this was his reply.

My mesmer hasn't completed prophecies (still needs to do the last two missions), and hasn't completed EoTN (has completed the asuran arc, but not the norn or vanguard arcs). Thackeray appeared in the HoM for all conversations with Gwen, and appears outside asking for candles etc.

Maybe completing one arc is the minimum a character needs to do?

For the record, he doesn't take Grog because it makes you talk like a pirate(something to that effect). :P I'll get the actual dialogue later; can't get in game at the moment.

Ha, I just so happen to have a few stacks of apple cider that have just been collecting dust on my storage toon. Some of the wrapped parcels are decent rewards, so it looks like I'll put these ciders towards them.

EDIT!: It looks like Thackery also collects EL tonics as well. So all you button-mashers out there, be sure to read what you're giving away first.
