I have to say I've had a decent amount of good drops. The real good ones are still rare for sure but I've had one BDS, 4-5 Frog Scepters, 2 Voltaic Spears, maybe 6-7 Sup Vigors and a few other nice items drop for me. I was a dungeon junkie for a while though so looking back, my drop rate on dungeon rares was probably 1 every 100 runs. Eeek.

Birthday - 0 green minis, 1 gold mini - Shiro That's pretty sad.

Started playing again after a very long break and got 3 Superior Absorptions in 30 minutes. I was like "Sweet, that's 300k right there!". Then I went to the trader -_-.
Never had anything good from Nick/ZChest/Birthday Gifts. Got a Mini Livia from around 20 Royal Gifts, that's the only thing i've ever got by luck, except when I completely guessed XTH correct and got a bunch of Wintergreen Weapons which i've been able to sell at prices well above what they were when I quit.

I used to think I was unlucky but then it changed in one week. Back when the Obi edge just came out I was doing a lot of Fow runs. In that first week I got an R9 edge, R11 Edge, Demonic Aegis, and the only Everlasting Yuletide I have heard of dropping from the FoW Chest.
That week was the luckiest week in GW I have ever had. Since then I haven't had any drops worth much but who cares as that was enough to finance the rest of my wants in GW with plenty to spare.
The point of this was not to gloat but to say it only takes a few lucky drops to change your perspective. I have been playing for almost 5 years and I have only had 1 lucky week but since then I don't complain about being unlucky. Yours will come eventually

10-25 Nick gifts/week. Skipped a few weeks though. Doing it on 2 accounts, lately 3 and often turn excess gold into gifts, for the hell of it. More fun than stockpiling ecto. All in all probably well over 1,000 gifts opened. Net result: 2 bo sticks, 1 brown rabbit mini. No other weapons, no other minis, no spider egg, no everlasting anything.
In the Year of the Ox I didn't get a mini for over 700 fortunes.
Still, Nick's stuff is decent: selling all the rock candy, kegs and mysterious potions netted me almost a stack of ecto, which got me all the minis with lots of ecto to spare. Which brings me to the royal gifts: I only opened 60 of them so far, no more than the ones I got for the quests. Utterly worthless junk all of them. Why people would want to buy them is beyond me. Now that I just bought the minis cheaply, I'm glad I saved all my war supplies so far. Never opening another royal gift again.
Z-chest: I used lots and lots and lots of keys on it before there was a title. After the title was introduced I only used 200 more keys, so I could put up a HoM monument. The price increase on the keys when the title was introduced was too steep to justify the crap the chest kept feeding me. The best drop it gave me were some req 9 dragon kamas.
And lastly, what the hell is up with the WiK greens? I'm yet to see one, after faithfully doing many bounties on 4 characters, all other quests on the same 4, lots of Falken runs and vanquishing most of Kryta in WiK mode.

I spent years getting absolutely no rare anything; just scraping along and being always almost broke. Then in June 2008, I got an EL Automatonic from the Zaishen Chest. I sold it and split the gold with my son. Since then my luck has become average I would say. I get occasional green drops, nice runes, and black dyes. But, I get nothing exciting from Royal Gifts, Nicholas Gifts, Zaishen Chest, End Chests or Birthday Gifts.

My luck balanced out today. After rare drops in a mission, I decided to use my first z-key ever. I watched it turn into a Firewater. Never again.

Same as when i got mine, run after was another for someone else.
Plus back in the day when I was farming ettins for runes (which was very rewarding back then) I seemed to get a lot of golds in a certain day and less another, ofcourse farming different times.
Same with black and white dyes, almsot every time I get black, I also get a white.
So it seems it's a certain hour? <: |

We learned the 600/smite build together and would switch off on each position. We would vanquish Nebo Terrace and North Kryta Province 3 or 4 times a day. When we finished, his inventory would be over flowing with runes & insignias, gold & purple weapons, tomes, dyes, and salvage materials. Rarely, did I fill my inventory. It was nothing for him to show me 2 minors, a major, or even a super vigor during our runs. Survivor insignias are a common drop for him. His HoM has Gwen, Koss, Joko, Shiro, and a black Moa Chick, dedicated in it. Shiro, Joko, Kirin, Grawl Shaman, and a black Moa Chick are dedicated in mine. We trade any duplicates that the other doesn't have.
Even in presear, when we make Charr runs, he would collect more runes, Charr bags, or Charr salvage kits. I might get a drop every 10 or 15 runs, where he was getting good drops on every run. He was sending 100k in gold and runes to post every 3 or 4 days, where it would take me almost 2 weeks to send 100k to post.
Farming Nick's items, most of the time, he can collect them faster. We can farm them together or alone and he generally has enough in half the time it takes me to find them.
Am I jealous? I was for awhile, but since we split it all, not anymore.

Had a ceratadon in that time the prices of the mini ceratadon dropped alot... sold ded for 15k to some guy in guild. Come back at gw after long break discover they are now alot more Q Q.

A mule my ex made got a Zhu Hanuku yesterday. Guess my bad luck with minis is over. Still havent gotten a green, but have a couple more chances this year.
Still doing alright with chests. Scored a dhuums reaper on my necros 1st uw run... promptly gave it away to the people who set it all up the run cuz I like people who help out others.

best i gotten from nic was a vamp dragon sword. i still want a mini or el item! >> best i gotten from the zchest and im r5 zaishen was a el tonic (the fugly fly face one). best i gotten from royal gifts was a salma which i sold but i took me like 6-7 stacks of the supplies to get it. ;/ i've gotten some black,whites dyes and some greens,golds and sup vigor runes, but it usually like weeks/months in between drops.

I have never, ever had a black dye drop for me.
5 years. Not once in 5 years, across 3 accounts and I forget how many toons. On one account in particular: not a single black dye in over 4000 hours of solo farming.
I do not get black dyes. I have accepted this fact, but not without a bit of resentment toward the game coding.

I did my first FoW conquer yesterday. All I got was 4 obby shards and a couple of crappy golds. Oh, and the drop from the chest was an obby key, passage scroll to FoW, obby shard, and an onyx gemstone. Yah and the other guys got rubies.

I got good stuff off of Nick the first two weeks and then nada. Got both staves, the vampiric sword and finally an icy dragon sword that I had tried forever to get in that ice n snow province. I never got into that mini pet stuff anyways. They are useless and just take up space that I already don't have enough of. Same as holiday hats just useless crap that takes up space. They could have at least gave those mini pets some sort of bonus ability point like +1 to something if you had certain ones. Ida much rather been able to see weapons and offhands in towns and outposts instead of mini pet crap.

For the last 2 years I've opened over 650 fortunes, and not a single celestial mini, that's over 1,300 fortunes.
Almost R7 Zaishen and no EL tonics. Wisdom title that's over 2,000 points behind the Treasure Hunter one... etc etc..

The worse recent bad drop was using 4 Z keys to get 4 Creme Brulees.

All my black dye and most of my white dye drops have come in newbie territories. Pre-Sear is a gold mine of them and just outside Kamadan. Solo farm with a warrior with a hammer (in Kamadan newb areas) with a "certain inscription" in it and well you might just have the luck I do. >:_) See you have to KNOCK those black & white dyes out of them. hehe Do not play in Hard Mode it doesn't work.

The "money Tree" north kryta mission to the left when you pop all the spawns has always been my hotspot for black and whites. NM any build works lol...
