guildwars.wikia.com VS wiki.guildwars.com

Which site do you PREFER & why?
Like most of the guru users, I use both of these 2 information sites. In general, they both have "essentially" the same information, where one is the "Official Site". While we do find occaisional inaccuracies on either/both, they are usually corrected accordingly. AND when the "Official Site" is really borked, even ANET refers us to the "Unofficial Site" http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ldwars.wiki a as opposed to just telling us to wait until the "Official Site" is fixed.
Personnaly, I have found that the quildwars.wikia.com site provides "better" information in many ways. Just to name a few: schedule of Zaishen Challenges, schedule of WiK quests, detailed analysis/predictions of Nick items, various "glitch projects (eg: portal jumping), well thought out contributions on discussion pages (as opposed to typcial post bashing in wiki.guildwars.com disucssion pages)...

I use both, I find the talk pages usually have slightly different information.
Pony Slaystation
I prefer the official wiki. Ever since the unofficial wiki switched over to wikia, it began to run extremely slow on my computer. I'm just not a fan of wikia as a whole I guess.
Dzjudz
Both are bookmarked in Firefox. I prefer the unofficial one though.
Absolute Destiny
Guildwiki (unofficial) for me.
Simpler site, more details where I need it, and I like the armor gallery setup better on there than on the official wiki.

The official wiki is better organized and the writing seems to be of much better quality. When I need basic info such as a list of monsters in an encounter and their skillbars, that's where I go.
wikia on the other hand has alot more good info to the powergamer, listing exploits, bugs, and tactics.
Overall I use the official wiki more nowadays because all the dungeons and missions are over with and all the effective tactics I have stored in memory, all I really need to know is the occasional monster bar.
I still do the wikia for the zmission/nick request schedule though.

i like them both because they both offer different things. if i want to see armors i go unofficial. nice pop-up expanding pic windows as opposed to a new page. the info is more detailed as well for more obscure stuff. if i want lore or anything post eon then i go official. war in kryta is a must there. 7 day forecast for upcoming dailies is a MUST on wikia.
Reverend Dr
They are both wiki's. They are both maintained by "wikians." They are both pretty bad.
Lanier
I like the skills and elite skills layouts a lot more on the unofficial site. Othewise, i typically go to the official one because its at the top of the google search list.
jimbo32
The unofficial wiki is almost always better imo.
Cuilan
I prefer the layout of skill information and listing of the official wiki. I haven't found any reason to view the unofficial one yet.

Haven't been using the unofficial wikia lately, because it tends to be a little slow on picking up on new content.

I stopped using the unofficial one on principle when the edrama went down

OFFICIAL wiki > that crappy PoS unofficial one.
Just my $.02.

RedDog91
I use whichever one comes up first in the google search when I'm searching for something.
Then I go to the other one IF the one i initially use doesn't have the information I need.
They both have ups and downs. Unofficial is easier for me to find simple things, like skill capture locations and collectors. Official is easier to get good info missions and quests.

I personally prefer the wikia as the layout is much more simple and easier to navigate (less buttons to press). The armor gallery and skills lists are much better and more convenient compared to the official wiki. Also, it's great that it has all the zaishen challenges/wanted quests for the next day listed on the homepage.
Malla13
I use both. The Unofficial one has better armor galleries and a bit more detailed information at times, but I like the look of the Official better.

I usually only use official wiki, advertisements-free and with better impagination (and that also depends on ads). And I find it more accurate. I go to wikia when I need more sources (ex. more info on a mission, as they are described differently in one from the other) and sometimes for armors, as picures are better there.
And most of the time I search from the game, so wiki is default on that.

I used to use both but these days I only use the official one, it might not be the best but it's good enough for me.
cosyfiep
yeah I have both up at all times, but I find the ads on the unofficial (the stuff on the left) annoying as *&^% so if I want to use it I have to log in (sometimes more than once too) and its not updated very often anymore. That said the information it does have is presented better, missions have strategies and armor has LOTS of screenshots (not just the grey and red ones that the official has). When I need to find things I can find them better on the unofficial one (books artisans skills) as well as the zaishen stuff.
I dont like the fact that the official is being used also as a forum with all those blogs et al from the anet staff ....but that issue is a dead horse.
so
I like the unofficial better as its user friendly and has more information laid out nicely, the official has more up to date information, but lacks some of the strategies/armors etc.

I usually go to the official guild wars wiki first of all as it looks better and is better organized I find. If it doesn't have what I want, I then look to the unofficial guild wars wikia.
If I am doing something in game, I usually have the section from both wikis up for what I'm doing just incase (and doing that has always worked well for me )

I like the official one better. It has more accurate information and it's in more detail. The unofficial is just full of idiots going around messing up pages or thinking it's a contest to see who can edit the page last. The admins on the unofficial seem to be hell bent about undoing peoples work. I posted up info on the Battle for Lion's Arch just to have an admin completely purge the page and put up a 3 line account of the mission. I re put up my info just to have the same admin do it again and kick me off the site.
So ya official is much better when in comes to up to date news and info.

I prefer the official one these days, though as with all wikis, I stay away from the discussion pages.

Actully, I didn't know that a schedule was available on official wiki. Unofficial has link on main page & I guess that I didn't use the right keywords (on the official wiki" in the search box to find the nested links/pages showing the SCHEDULE (use the search term predictions not schedule to find those pages easily)

i use wiki.guildwars motly because of the layout and good info sources. though for missions and HM tips .wikia seems better. official seems to not have a list of some things like elite skills in NF but it does have them by capture location.in the same way you can't search storyline to find out the order of missions :/

Yes you can. You're just bad at the wiki.
Commander Kanen
I prefer the un-official wiki, There is way more infomation on there and the layout is better.
The official wiki is only good for dev update notes and features.
