They Moved the Server and it's Horrible
Arduin
Steady 100ms ping in 4 hours of play. Prior ping was around 200-300ms.
Lumenil
terrible, won't even connect to game instance in most cases.
Zebideedee
Ever since, I've never been away from a red circle for over a minute. Wierdest lag ever as well. Used to be the whole game would pause, then it would catch up as if someone hit fast forward. Now the battle carries on (my heroes etc. keep on fighting) but I'm left standing there with the skill I pressed just flashing away and being unable to do anything, not good. I do still get the traditional lag but it's mostly the other type. This happens at least every minute or so on Euro & US servers
Scotland btw.
Scotland btw.

Games been practically unplayable personally for me past couple days.
Things were fine after the initial server transfer but these past 2 days my ping is average of about 3k and upward and consistantly spiking in red dot.
Lucky if i ever load instances as it just stays at 100% and reconnects are a joke.
Southwest england. No other internet issues on other programs. Issues on both american and european servers.

Awful laggy in any form of PVP.
Wish Swiftdeath
Some days its good, some days its awful. I'm gonna just hope it settles down in a week or so .
Kenzo Skunk
I didn`t even notice the game is on another server. Everything seems fine so far.
kanuks
Was super laggy when they moved it but they worked on the issues overnight and now it's perfect. Good job a-net.
Motoko
The towns etc are fine today. I can't touch PvP at the moment due to the sharp ping increase from 40ms -> 5000ms.

Poland. Ping on european english servers are fine, all along. American servers get high ping quite often, but that's nothing new for me. No real changes noticed.
I do get DCs and ping problems when i minimize the game and then get back to it, though, but that's nothing new, either.

All in all im getting at least a DC a day. I average in the orange or yellow, and see no change when im in different districts.
The good pings I get only last for a short time.
All this started a week or so around the "data move"
Others in ally and who ive spoken to are having no problem....so it sucks

getting a steady 300ms ping with two torrents in the background, day of the server switch had shit ping, but it quickly passed.
Scarlett Romanov
anyone else getting horrible lag spikes today?
jray14
Nope, everything's been fine for me since about a day after the data center move. If you want to contribute to the solution, then please give details about the ping, your location, and the districts you're playing in.

I think I might actually be able to win at this...
Since they moved the servers that has been happening once in a while >_<
*Note* I live in Canada and have this problem on all the servers =(

im in florida. after the move for once i didnt have ping but its slowly went back to premove for me. where i lagged ever 3 hour or when im in huge mobs. and now i slowly getting those awful lagspikes again. so in the end the move did nothing good for me.
RedNova88
Absolutely unplayable for me. Ping never goes below 10k and I rubberband like no tomorrow.
Skyy High
No changes here (East coast US).

Can I ask, is this now how GW2 in going to be? I've tried US/Euro/Asian/OuterMongolian districts, all have me lagging every 1-2 minutes since he server change, if it wasn't for heroes, I'd have died so many times. This IS on your end, every other game (including f2p Korean ones) run fine. I've tried re-installing, etc. nothing works!
How can I recommend GW2 when people who I show GW to is a lagfest?

Easily: point out the majority of the posts on this thread who do NOT have the extreme trouble...
Pleikki
Yeah well as most ppl seem not have any problems with the servers, probably ppl who have should update their connections!
shoesbags
I love the new server location my latency was cut in half. sub-100ms all day every day woo-hoo! and my download speeds more than tripled when I had to run -image again, so I can't complain there either.
Thanks ANet! Much <3
I used to average 250-350 on a good night, haven't had any spikes.

My connection used to be pretty damn good up until the server swappage. Now, I get an average 500+ pings here & there, sometimes for prolonged periods of time. Thanks Anet. <3

So, if it's horrible now...
What's the difference between now and before?!

But since data move, me along with tons of other I have talked to.....let alone people on this thread, have gotten bad pings. Infact the majority of players Ive talked to have this problem.
(though others have said theres are fine)
But anyway my internet connection is great has never had any problems with guildwars since the "data Move" or w.e they did. It has nothing to do with my connection.
Light And Peace
Being that I run, I've noticed that I have worse ping spikes than I did before. Running through droks, I customarily go from 90 ping to 300-350 ms ping. Quarter second makes a bit difference on some spells. The latency can end up killing you with a snare.

Thanks, Anet! <333

i know a guy who got 7 disconnections in a row AFTER the change of servers
he never had that before, and as far as i know, the rest of his internet stuff, like websites work normal, its just gw
i dont have it, although i did get kicked out of gw for like a week or 2, which i didnt have BEFORE the change
some of you need to either think or read well, people got troubles AFTER the change, and yet some here say its not the change
i asked a random guy a week ago, and he said: yea, its not just you, everyone has troubles (probably everyone around him)
remember: not all people in gw are on forums
i guess some of us are just lucky

You know it helps more to send ANet a ticket.

Hi everyone. I have but one thing to say;
Ha, ha.
Try being Australian. We get pings like this on every single online game. Now you know how it feels. No sympathy from me.

just because you are getting high pings / lag doesn't necessary mean it's a direct result of the server move or ArenaNet in general.
In most cases you have to go through multiple internet gateways to access a game server and if ANY of these are having an issue then you can experience latency.
http://wiki.ocssolutions.com/How_to_...m_a_Traceroute
Just put the IP address instead of the website address (i.e. tracert 64.25.39.66) and if it times out before you reach the server most likely it is dropping the signal before it reaches the server.

They Moved the Server and it's just like it was before it was moved.

Before or internet connection with guildwars was fine, so yes it is a direct result of ArenaNet in general.
Guy Incognito
I've noticed since the move whenever i jump to the yankee servers i still get a little laggy but not as much as before. Looks like i'm one of the lucky ones.
