Had a sudden burst of ideas and replaced the Vabbian kids with two kid-Gwens. Now it's even closer to the original content, and just as hilariously disturbing. Seriously, that scene still scares the crap out of me.
I don't think I'll be putting in Thorn smack dab in the center of the piece behind the Gwens. I want to try and keep this piece as close to the scene as possible, but with a GW vibe to it. Also, I don't really want to draw the attention away from Gwen's stare. So instead, I'll be making a rustic/cheesy MKT wall paper that decorates the halls these two are in. Something like Thorn's pumpkin head adorning the walls.

But you're right, there is something very unsettling about that sketch I made. Probably because Lefty has no eyes, and Righty's face is sunken in.
KRITZ ME DOCKTOR:
Kiya: That's pretty awesome. Dunno if you're still having trouble painting it, but maybe shaving off parts of the paper to give it that proper pumpkin texture? Maybe giving it a bit more surface texture can help bring out the paint even further. Dunno if that's feasible or not since I'm not sure how delicate the head is dried.
Raven: Very nice, I like the gesture and look to her. Though with her right arm being pulled back, her right breast should be slightly pulled back as well. And I say slightly since she's wearing a corset, and that should keep her business well in place. But we should be able to see a bit of her sternum with the posture she's taking.
Also, her right leg seems too long at the upper thigh. We should be able to see the knee joint under or around the first horizontal stocking line. The same can be said about her left leg, though her knee joint would be different since her weight is shifting to that side.
Usk: Lookin' good so far. At the moment, I'd just say maybe smooth and even out the shading on some parts. Other than that, keep on keepin' on.
KJ: Dark satire sounds fun, and would be a nice change from all the usual playful/happy kind of stuff.
Mina: I think a light or mid sort of poison green would work. Your Grasping Dead idea came out really cool as well as those background textures. Looks kind of Kurzicky.
Tommy: As mentioned, it is a bit dark. But if that's what you're going for and don't want to brighten the entire thing, I'd say intensify the lighting on the girl. I think if you push the lighting far enough, there will be enough information there for you not to re-work the whole thing.
Operative: I thought Thorn was giving me the finger, which is something I could see him doing. What you've got done so far looks good. Though I'm a little confused at his ribcage. At the moment, his ribcage is shooting straight into his pelvis. Naturally, the bottom ribs are raised well above the pelvis.
Since he's leaning back, they should be taking more of a "cylinder" type of shape. I'm getting the impression that his shoulders and chest are pull back, but his abs are unnaturally vertically locked in place. Just give them more of a rounded upwards shape and pull them off the hips a bit, and you should be good.

Charlie..didn't you learn that ONE GWEN is more than enough *wails*

Here's my progress last night..now you see the whole pic. Was hesitant to show at first because it wont be much of a surprise but I am here to learn (and help other artists) so I'd like to show my progress as much as I can and get feedback:

Her expression is priceless :3 I assume its gonna be a kitty under the table? Make it a dirty ugly kitty with a scar on its eye (like scar from the lion king ) At least thats what come to my mind straight away when I see those eyes. The moon outside is a nice touch! Perhabs you could try to work out a bit better what kind of skull it is. I can't think of anything in guildwars with such teeth and horns.

The skull she's holding is a Charr skull (I basically looked up lion/tiger skull and put horns on it). The one on the table is a Mergoyle skull..couldn't make up the teeth so I kinda improvised on that part and made it slightly bigger >_>

Forgot to mention that I got a critique from Murke/kalinotora in DeviantArt about the arm being too bendy (if that's even a word) so I fixed that part as well. So cheers to her!
Keep those critiques coming and I'll work on them tonight ^_^
And some comments:
Tommy - Liking the progress so far. For the backdrop, how about a sillhouette of mountains/structures (depending on her location) and the sky being more like this one:
Cos I think the GW Halloween moon dude would overshadow the pumpkin face.
Charlie - no comment. really..NO COMMENT. I am still creeped out by those Gwens..Kidding aside, it looks amazing.
Koreena - You are an all around talented artist! I really can't say much but..Wow. I love the color on the pumpkin head. It's very spot on.
Minami - I love the cavern/spidey web look. I also like Charliepai's suggestion of a green light coming from the skellies.

Cool, then I'll aim around there. I'm planning on trying to write the story in a way that is more deceptive to the reader, but still dark and twisted. Hopefully, it'll come together well.
I need to work on the art that I'm going to put with it, though :/

Adjusted the chest based on Charliepai's suggestion. Uhm, I couldn't figure out the knee thing Charlie. I looked at my mesmer in GW and the knee is way below the stockings. Halp!
(yeah I didnt do much last night ..tried to draw the cat and failed miserably >_>)

I was trying to think whether to put a witch's hat on her actually
I like Mina's original hair and headpiece a lot though, so I'm undecided on that as of right now.
Any opinions on that?

Nice progress everyone O.o!
@Raven: Really nice progress I love the pose and the face of your pic. Hope evreything goes right after charlie anatomy outline .
@Minami: Nice coloring and use of shades , I suggest you to add more brightness on the metal armor that its front of the light source, since its metal the brightness and shades are really exagerated. As you can see here:

Another recomendation would be to add some borders on the armor becouse it looks like razors.
And heres my progress so far:
I smudged more zones and fixed some errors .

I am glad I got the chest right at least ^^ I'll probably spend more time on the drawing tonight. I only spent about 30 minutes on it yesterday. It kinda sucks because I get all my motivation to draw during daytime while at work and I can't do anything about it. I've had to look at dead human bodies this past week, and I need to take it out on someone. Raven, I'm looking at you.
I re-worked the anatomy and came across a few other, but easy to solve, problems. You'll have to bring down the head and shorten the length on both of her arms. But since you've only got the line-art down, it shouldn't be a big hassle.
From what I understand, she is in a contrapposto stance - basically the artsy fartsy word for a non-symmetrical relief stance where weight is shifted to one side. The side being her left. I went in and added in the curvature of where there would be a definite change in the musculature due to her shifting sides. The blue arrows and circles denote where you should really emphasize that change in line direction or indication of weight. This pushes the idea that she's leaning on her left side or that some form of movement is taking place.
Keep in mind that this is strictly the anatomy of a nude female body. Your drawing is obviously going to be clothed, and won't have that exact line definition where the muscles merge. You can definitely even them out - but just try to follow the general movement. Also, she doesn't have to be that muscular either - it's just a bit of an exaggeration to show you the overall form and "what meets where".
Minami
Usk, thanks!
What do you mean by "adding more border"?
I'll try and see how I get along with drawing metallic material. Never tried it before.

Sorry, Im not good with english xD anyway, by border i mean the line or stroke that gives to the armor a shape ( a thick part of metal on the edge of the armor)
Minami
No problem
The armor material itself is hard cloth/leather, it's not all metal. I think it's only the green accents on the top and the belt that are a bit metallic.

Thanks everyone esp you Charlie! I'll do the corrections tomorrow. I just did the flat greyscale tonight, They are all in diff layers so I should be able to fix the anatomy anyhow. Just not sure about the head part yet but I'll do my best
Thanks so much again!
Infested Hyrdalisk suggested to change the skull so I did and it looks better.

Quickly laid down the base colors - still properly positioning her. Also started on shading her face and hair. I haven't added all the lighting layers, so the current shading isn't final.
She is.

@ Charlie.. Stunning, truely cool. I think the textures were a bit too much on 'The Bride' but now you use them for a more close up face they look very cool. Gives a real feel to the skin. The hair has a cool style aswell! Just the lips bother me a bit. Its almost like she's pouting.
@ Ravenhawk.. Sweet. You are gonna keep it black and white or... Never really understood the idea behind painting it in black 'n white first, but perhabs you have some masterplan behind it. Enlighten me! Just one advice I'd like to give you: be carefull not to get toooo cliché For example, I wouldnt make the curtains raffled, but more likely very chique yet gothic (as far as curtains can be gothic xD) To make my point, your pic includes: An evil moon, a (black?) cat, a skull, another skull, a crow, candle light, those typical scary trees. I think it might be a bit much and might make the picture too busy. The attention point of the picture (I guess) should be her face and buste (boy what a boobs btw! ), yet the picture has more going on at her waiste hight, 2 skulls, candle, crow etc. It's not tooo busy, but I would consider making them not stand out too much with the colouring. Just shade them very lightly. I think I never used to word too so often Still, her expression is priceless, really good.
And Minami, dont let others get you down! You are great and you know it. At least I do.

Charlie - I am glad that I saw that pic when I woke up this morning not before I slept last night. I am almost certain you'd win the evil award at the very least. lol.
Usk - *saved that link* Liking the progress and the smudging looks great. There's something about the skirt that makes them look stiff though.
Minami - Nice. I just noticed that evil smirk on her face , makes me think that she poisoned those candy corns lol really neat! I am assuming that you'd put more shadings on the armor as well but the details are looking great.
About hair tutorials, hmm..I used to follow this tutorial a lot and I really liked it. May not be the best one but this is what I used to follow. Right now I just follow my own instincts in drawing hair. Not sure how that happened lol:
http://photoshop-tutorials.deviantar...ck-W-117461905
Tommy: Yeah the lighting (which is not obvious yet) would mute down a lot of parts in that pic actually. The room would be generally dark considering that the only source of light would be the candle and the moon in the background. I can't wait to get to the shading. It's always my favorite part of the doing my drawings. (also the highlight part). Also planning to put some peeled wallpaper texture on the wall.
The cat will not be drawn out most probably but just glowy eyes. We'll see.
The grayscale technique I loosely based from this tutorial. I've followed a ton of them that I already mixed and matched different techniques.
http://genzoman.deviantart.com/art/C...r-01-101644185
I didn't want to get stuck trying to figure out what particular colors to use yet but I have a general idea of the hue that I want. I actually applied the greyscale technique to my last three drawings - (Armageddon, The Hawk and The Tiefling/Demon girl).

Still don't feel like continuing my current work (just thinking about armor shading and texturing makes me cringe... been working on the pic a bit too much methinks), maybe it's time to relax the brain by doodling something else.
I think I will do a face outline and practice some hair drawing on it just for fun.
If I manage to draw something nice looking, I'll post it here (after kicking myself in the ass for not drawing it straight onto my necro )

Thanks for the feedbacks, and yeah i saw the same problem on the skirt, but i think its becouse theres no a background nor floor yet and the character seems out of context but ill try to mix the skirt movement with all the painting later. Thanks for the observation.

She's a cute little bean. Her hair looks a little big to me, so I might chop off a bit from the top and sides. I'll probably toss it around a bit at the very end once I've got the background in. Just sort of focusing on this face at the moment, and playing with layers to get that ominous vibe. I'll move on to her clothing and the other twin once I'm satisfied I find that system.
@Kiya: Lookin' good so far
@Mina: Sounds like you need a break. Just put the piece on hold for a few and come back to it later.

By the way, I realized I'm not so good at drawing (I know, how can I be, I just started >_< but that doesn't matter), so I will be taking the rest of the week off to work up some confidence and acceptance of not being able to draw what I can visualize exactly.
TBH, that's why I use 3D, even with all the necessary tinkerings one has to do, it's somehow more comfortable for me.
Doing this drawing is WAAAY outside of my comfort zone, and I won't give up on my entry (don't worry), but it just takes time to adjust from one medium to another.
