Just because you can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done. Do some moar digging on guru and you'll find out that it's doable hero/hench in NM. The only challenge left is HM hero/hench.

Btw I filled all the survey's comment text boxes with "SEVEN TO ELEVEN HEROES PLS K"

What would be funny, is if this is just a placebo site to make the carebears feel loved. Doesnt do anything but send your text rants off into the abyss and doesn't even log them on a server.

Similar:
We put a fake thermostat in our office that functioned but wasn't connected to any A/C unit and everyone that tinkered with it quit complaining about the air temperature because they all got to play with it and it made them feel comfortable. LOL, some people are never happy. Fill survey out, feel happy about griping.

To be honest.....that was my first thought.

Emily says their going to read them though, so I'm sure they'll put some effort into it. Oh, wait....this feels familiar. For some reason, the henchmen contest keeps coming to mind. Meh, I'm sure it's nothing. Anet will surely read each and every one.

well, the live team must be the ones reading it. 5 people on live team, they will be done reading them in 8 months.

Reading the texts and acting on them are two different things though

But I'll give Anet some credit this time.

Actually, I was just reading them yesterday. As was John and several other people. I'm sorry if you guys are skeptical because you can't see us doing it, but if we say we read things, we do.

all i can say is seriously consider 7-11(urgoz/kanaxai) heroes even if u cant flag all of them seperately just so u can mod skills and armor/weapons. i know of atleast 20 maybe even 30 people that would buy the trilogy pack+eotn just because they know they won't need any help. and im sure others might think the same or similar. i know for me with my busy schedule i get limited time to play i play by myself because i don't want to sit around and wait for a bunch of putzs for an hour only to possibly fail because someone lagged out or just sucks. i would rather go it myself for the hour i have to play and just get it done or know exactly what i did wrong and fix it. and for those who whine PVE is too easy anyway, bite me! i would love to finally be able to complete doa/uw without having to do a speedclear or pay 100+k for a run. i don't have time for guilds i have my own full hall im not gonna dump that just to join a new guild. and also people who like to PUG will still do so but the people who suck will be playign themselves so more heroes will be even better for you PUG people.

also consider the fact that some parts of tyria were not meant for hard mode and therefore the standard henchmen are not always helpful. and i don't see how 7 heros would make the game easier it would just make it more adaptable which means possibly more fun.

If we're skeptical, it's only because we've been given reason.

However, I don't want to be negative about this. I really appreciate you guys and hope you'll really follow through with this. We just haven't seen any results in a while...and the last few "feedback" attempts have been a disaster.

But, all the luck to you. I'm still really enjoying the game (PvP at least), so that's saying something.

Kidding. I've got some high hopes for what may come of this survey.

I'm sure. Just like when you say you'll do something, you do it. Bimonthly updates.

Probably because pvp is kept fresh and interesting by bimonthly updates.

We've actually discussed this! When the survey closes, we'll see what we can do about writing a summary. It's set to be active for two weeks, so don't expect anything before then.

Understandable, and thanks for the appreciation and faith on this one. The team honestly does have some really cool stuff in the works, so there are things coming. I wish I could be more specific, but I can't right now.

I think that a video of John reading a survey online would be pretty boring. Even if we bought him a silly hat

But then people would be complaining that the Live Team is "wasting time" reading stuff when they should be doing the CB, GvG, and dervish changes.

No matter what, the community will always complain. It's basically politics.

More like 5 mins for some of the people on here.

P.S. All people need to understand is to take breaks, you don't need to play the game 10 hours a day for 5 years straight. If they took even week break every now a then they wouldn't get so bored with the game.

I'm with Cosy on this. It's been.....a while. We could really just use something to help us understand that you guys are actually working.

I mean the dervish update was (supposedly) set to be here months ago. It's just getting slightly tiresome.

We don't need anything specific. We just need something to hope for.

more like throw us a bone and actually stick to what the bone says. i think more people will get mad if they get a bone and the bone is a lie then not getting a bone at all. xD

We don't need an exact date. We just need some hope.

A preview, a "we'll have [blank] somewhere before Halloween/Christmas", something. Hell, anything would help at this point.

Although, I don't think a dervish preview is possible. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the TK has even seen anything yet (besides ideas).

Formulated that vaguely = we already decided to not do it in most cases

How about a video of you all discussing ideas and or results from the survey? You do have meetings where you discuss plans etc right?

One question for you Emily: DO YOU PLAN TO INFORM THE NOT-FANSITE-VISITING-PART OF THE PLAYERBASE ABOUT THE SURVEY INGAME???????

I'm thrilled by the very fact that one the dev's are finally communicating with us.

A question for you, Emily: Have you guys considered giving the dervish class some reliable utility [i.e.: knockdowns, interrupts, stance removals, reliable enchanement removals, reliable anti-conditions/hexes, etc.]?

Haha, I doubt that will happen. If they already have "thousands" of replies, and only 6 people are going to read them, then I doubt they want to announce it in game.

Twitter and Facebook are always fansites, I don't think you can compare that to an announcement on log-in screen.
But...

It's a pity though. A link, or a some simple poll at the login would provide a wealth of information for Anet. If they made the questions a simple yes or no, they would have a clear indication of what their playerbase is thinking of this or that without putting a big stress on the Live Team.

To entice us to cooperate, they could even give you a free minipet as reward. What, a title track, with a +1 for every poll you've filled in

Poll taking is a pretty interesting art/science. You can easily gear questions in a way that helps you get the results you want.

However, the Live Team did a decent job of remaining unbiased. The last two questions were obviously leading, but at least they'll have varied responses.

Also, by using a scale, they will be able to find a decent medium of how everyone feels about their different questions. I have a feeling that a lot of the comments will get passed over (and I don't blame them). They will interpret the responses however they want. I just hope we get to see the results.

But to what extend will you follow up on the opinions given by the survey? I remember submitting multiple "creative" builds in the Hench contest, only to find that the winners were people that either directly copied or changed one skill from pvx, a fansite with builds that were considered "inelligible" by your (Anet's) rules.

I think that some of us (myself included) feel that you (the dev team) ARE going to read the surveys, but in the end will stick to your already-planned agenda and hush the fansites with "we're busy with other things."

Exactly what i was thinking of , i wouldn't have say it better . They will probably not even read the comments on the survey though in my opinion , and just make a summary poll , to know what people want , and even ....

The survey is a nice way for A.Net to gauge the thoughts and feelings of the playerbase. I doubt all that much will come about as a result. Perhaps it'll effect which arguments and words the CR team will use to explain the actions of the dev team.

Agreed hate the use of FB and Twatter for announcements. Do not follow it and will not follow it.

If they are asking our opinion on GW:B for future content, well it shows you how far they have planned, not very far at all. There was no development plan for GW, just make it up as you go along and hence CR was crippled to inactivity regarding updates and anything of value.

Seen no reference to the new HA Map in anything recently that was announcend last year. Sickeningly disappointing to say the least.

Really poor CR, management and use of resources in terms of the output of updates. Now that would make for a better survey.

I have a feeling it'll go like this:
  1. Live Team has some ideas for GW
  2. They make a survey
  3. We take the survey
  4. They read the results of the survey
  5. They blame the delay of updates on their desire to incorporate our ideas from the survey into the game
  6. The Live Team just carries through on their old ideas and tells us that our ideas and feedback were nice but impossible to implement into the game
  7. ???
  8. Profit
