The quick and dirty 30/50 guide.

Things you'll need:
  • All 3 campaigns and EotN
  • Some cash on hand, or a steady surplus income (about 250k minimum, more is faster)
  • Patience
  • Use of the official wiki, if you lack patience (F10 in-game)
  • Skill (just a bit)

First of all, play through all 3 campaigns and EotN, and beat the final missions and all bonus objectives (3 'hero' statues + 3 'protector' statues). I would recommend starting in Nightfall for the Heroes and faster attribute points.
  • Complete War in Kryta and get an Oppressor Weapon from your Medals of Honor earned.
  • Get MOX.
  • Complete the Mini Moa Bird Chick side Quest from Zho.
  • Register a L20 PvP Wolf in the Zaishen Menagerie.
  • Register all of these items.
(2 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 14 HoM points so far)
  • Next, get one Rare Ranger Pet, and 2 Hero armors (~10k each) (+ 2 = 16)
  • Buy one Gold Mini Pet (~10-20k) (+ 1 = 17)
Now, things will start to ramp up. Many things will cost much more gold per HoM point, but you still have a lot of content to complete to get more points. If you have the cash and speed is key, just buy up what you need, but until then, complete these other requirements:

Pick any 14 of for following 'easiest' 30 statues: (+3 = 20)
  • Beat Sorrow's Furnace
  • Beat The Deep
  • Beat Urgoz's Warren
  • Beat FoW and UW
  • Beat DoA
  • Gaurdian x 3 + 1
  • Skill Hunter x 3 + 1
  • Cartographer x 3 + 1
  • Vanquisher x 3 + 1
  • Master of the North
  • Get Sunspear / Lightbringer titles
  • Get Asuran / Dwarven / Vangaurd / Norn titles
  • Get Rank 4 Kurzick / Luxon titles

With cash / faction earned from vanqing, earn jade / amber for a Kurzick or Luxon armor statue (+2 = 22) and then one Destroyer Weapon (~40k) (+1 = 23), and 18 random white minis (~50k) to give you 20 total (+2 = 25). Next, get 5 more armored heroes / pets (+1 = 26)

For your final 4 points, you can pick from:
  • 10 more Miniatures (+1)
  • another 10 more Miniatures (+1)
  • another 10 more Miniatures (+1)
  • 10 more armored heroes / pets (+1)
  • Your remaining 10 armored heroes / pets (+1)
  • 5 more from the 30 statues listed above (+1)
  • Vabbian and any other Elite armor(+2)
  • One Tormented Weapon + 2 more other weapons (+2)
  • Get 1 PvP statue (+3)

Gladiator is the most accessible, but Zaishen is easiest due to being able to buy out keys. Using 200 keys will earn the title, and some of your drops from the chest can be re-merched or sold for more keys later on. Remember, if you can pick any one PvP type, you'll be making cash from selling keys instead of buying keys for the Zaishen title.

Hope that helps, as I've seen this kind of easy guide often requested. If prices are off or my numbers are wrong, let me know.

You really have this thought out, haven't you. Great guide!

I have nothing else to add, you seem to have addressed everything and left enough room for user preference.

There are 30 items (armor, weapons, minipets, ranger pets) available as rewards in GW2 based upon what is in your Hall of Monuments. The HoM has 50 rewards levels, but after 30 you only get titles.

It refers to the Hall of Monuments reward score, which you can check for your account right here. 30/50 is the score that gets you all of the material goodies in GW2 if you link your GW1 account to it. Beyond that you only get titles.

only thing i would say is they 250k money thing and then the suggestion about zaishen rank. It costs about 1mil gold to get r3 zrank. Thats the only thing i'd change. otherwise good guide.

All I would add is start your character in factions then move over to nf/eotn as soon as possible. The beginning of NF has like a trillion quests if you're a NF character.

Nice guide

Can you still get those after GW2 comes out? I'm thinking about going back to GW after few months of League of Legends (probably in 2 weeks, when the new champion comes out and everyone will be playing her) and I'm pretty sure I'll want to play Guild Wars a bit.

By the way, am I incorrect, or are those achievements area-wide?

edit: Nevermind, FAQ says you can still get those rewards after GW2 comes out.

It is just a reward for dedicated gw1 players

I would make the point that if they're getting the Black Mao Chick, they'll have to get to get the last quest for Sorrow's Furnace, so unless they're being run by someone else who has the quest, it would be easy to just finish off SF right there.

For Urgoz and the Deep, wait until it's the Zaishen Bounty and form a PUG.
For Mallyx, join a DWG team.

Alternatively, find a good guild. This is conducive to everything else you need to do as well.

Iron Forgeman is the zbounty on the 16th (6 days time), so there's likely to be groups in Deldrimor Warcamp for those of a pugging persuasion.

Aren't the Kurz/Lux ranks considered PvP trophies? They're A LOT more accessible than the Gladiator r3. On a double weekend you can get the Kurz trophy from scratch in about 3-5 hours.

No; they're not considered PvP titles.

Zaishen rank does qualify as a PvP title though. I'm glad it does, otherwise I'd be screwed.

Like the Luxon and Kurzick, it's a hybrid.
Can be obtained by doing PvE, but can also be obtained only by doing things with a PvP character.

The thing is, why didn't Luxon and Kurzick qualify, if they are both PvE and PvP too?

The primary means for obtaining ZKeys (apart from buying them) is by obtaining Balthazar Faction. Gold Z Coins are fairly inefficient for this purpose (and is the only PvE means to develop this title).
Kurzick/Luxon allegiance though can be be obtained through PvE much more rapidly than PvP.
I'd say the Zaishen title is much more a PvP title than the Lux/Kurz one.

Oops, my mistake. I figured Kurz/Lux would be PvP and ZRank wouldn't, since you can just buy it... I must've gotten my PvP trophy from ZRank.

Or you could just buy the keys for all the ectos that you farmed in uw.

Good post Skye. I couldnt have said it better myself. I want to emphasize the importance of DoA, WiK, Monument of Valor(Weapons), and Monument of Resilience(Armor). Especially to those players that have not done these yet.

DoA is profitable, gives you one of the weapons you need, earns you a statue, helps max your lightbringer title, and gets you primeval armor remnants to dedicate heros. SC groups are fairly easy to find and even if you chip in for cons you still make a profit at the end. And, if you like DoA, armbraces can be sold for ectos to use to buy OB armor.

Yes, WiK is a long process. However by the end, you can purchase 2-3 weapons per character, and you end up making a decent profit just from the quest rewards and drops. Once your done, strategically choosing which bounties to do means War Supplies(ie weapons) with minimal effort. Amalek the Unmerciful, Calamitous, and Greves the Overbearing are easy to get to and can be done in HM for quick War Supplies.

When choosing weapons, if you dont care about the skin and just want to fill your hall. Consider destroyer weapons as they are cheap to make. At todays rate, 1 oppessor weapon could buy 2 destroyer weapons. And, selling one armbrace could pay for almost 8 destroyer weapons.

Making armor is going to be one of the costliest parts of filling your hall. I recommend Asuran, Monument, and Norn Armor. They are fairly cheap and require lvl 5 in thier specific rank.

The EotN ranks are important because they can add another statue when maxed and add power to PvE skills. Keep a look out for special EotN/Vanquish weekends and Zaishen quests to make this process go faster.

Keep in mind that these rewards are account wide. So when dedicating weapons make sure you dedicate it on a character that can actually use it. When buying armor, try to buy an armor on one of your characters were you actually like the look.

If you join a guild you will see how easy Deep is when people know what they are doing.

The elite missions might not be the most easy thing in the world, but if you get a good group it's half an hour up to 2 hours for easy points. Plus, if you haven't done them, you should, cause they're a lot of fun .

P.S. One of my PvP titles is Commander. lulz.

No, it's not easy. Even with an experienced group that is just not specialized in it, the Deep is still at the very least challenging.

Really, people who have played for thousands of hours seem to forget that not everyone is that dedicated, experienced and plays that well.

They also forget just how much time things take to do the first time.

If you're looking at time investment, reading up on the wiki and beating The Deep is likely "easier" than vanqing a continent, or even getting protector.

It really isn't that hard at all. Its very doable with heros in 30min.

Two people each with heroes or one person with just three heroes? I haven't tried the deep yet, but I believe it's one of those no henchmen areas.

Oh I'm sure prices will return close to their pre-Hom-calc state in a couple of weeks or possibly months.

It is, and in order to fill the 12 slots you need at least 3 players. The Deep is quite doable on normal if you are well prepared, but Urgoz is a bit tricky, especially at the end where you need to move around a lot. Human brain helps there.

I dont see minipets going down in price anytime soon. Except for the black moa chick, you cant farm them, and most of them you can only get through B-day gifts. That means alot less minis are undedicated because everyone is filling thier halls. So at the earliest it will be a few months before we start getting a new batch of minis to buy. Even then people will charge more than they use to be. But, I hope I'm wrong about this.

true on both accounts. anet is showing gw2 demo off at pax east in march meaning it is highly unlikely we will be getting gw2 by then. you can hold on to hope still if you want.

Well, technically the gold mini is a random drop from "lunar fortunes", which you get from "lunar tokens" which you gather by doing the festival quests.

You can of course get unlucky and get no mini, but if you finish the quests (they are quite easy and fast) on several characters you should be in good shape. The chance per fortune is ~0.5% and each character can gather 50 fortunes just from the quests. So on average 4 characters should give a pet (+ a lot of party items and some gold). Also many guilds will pool up extra minis to give to unlucky members. It really is a high-light of the year
