Not sure if I should be necro'ing a 7 month old thread, but in light of the new 6th year birthday Tonics I'm re-opening (if I'm allowed to) this thread to raise funds. The list of tonics I want is on the first page.
There were 3 people on my waitlist the last time I ninja'ed out of Nolani and I have sent PMs to everyone about their requests.
Having said that I've changed some stuff on the first post, options have been simplified and prices lowered a bit. The strange prices are meant to correspond to ecto prices (using 1e=7.5k) .. not sure if I will keep that or not. I've also started painting, although I dunno how popular it will be (if at all.)

Style/Size: Semi-realism fancy bust (I don't really know what the difference is between fancy and matte, so I don't know for sure which one I want)

Background: Solid color background; whichever color you think works the best.
Special: For the object to lean on (like in the pic), I was thinking a block of ice like the ice in the skill Water Attunement.
Overall, it's pretty much just copying the pose pic
I was also wondering if you could do one pic with the woad (face paint) and one without. I have no idea how much extra effort this would be, but I'm willing to pay extra!

@Frozen - Do you want your Ele to look middle-aged (like the man in the ref pic) or young (like the art in your display pic?) Doing two versions of the pic would not be a problem, since I draw woads/scars/tattoos on a separate layer above the skin.
The difference between fancy and matte is that I make more use of "shine" effects in the fancy style, and also use more blending of soft shading and cel shading. Matte has shading as well, but I use somewhat more muted tones and keep the highlights/'glossiness' to a minimum.
@Invertation - Animation only for Erith? Also, what do you want her to be sitting on? Any ideas on what kind of animation you'd want (moving hair, blinking, swinging a leg?) --the latter would take some playing around with puppet warp.

That would be the idea, only an animation for her, though both characters would be fine if you were feeling divinely inspired. I felt a bit lacking on just how for Ran. Hair slowly blowing in a breeze, if anything.
As for Erith, sitting on a large stump/log or stone if without a background, and if a small, simplified background (more implied form, I should think), sitting on a small island in the middle of a body of water. To this regard, a ripple effect in the water, perhaps a small glow (Will 'o the Wisp) or three, or a standard blinking animation. Any of those would be fine.
And assuming I've overloaded you with too much, skipping right out on all of that is fine too. Or any particular detail that just seems undesirable. I'm not feeling too particular.

@Invertation - haha, okay! Will o' the wisps will definitely be interesting to try out, not sure if I can make it work but it'll be fun. Water is probably too difficult, no idea how I could make it look convincing without using some sort of 3d render program. I'd rather not do it at all instead of drawing squigglies that wiggle around. LOL
I'm feeling particularly motivated (dkjsfh bloody hell, tonics!) and I should get started on at least one request tonight once I'm back on campus.

In more general news, this request made me decide to change my pricing again. I realized I have two types of "bust" pictures - one is a portrait type like this or this and the other type is like a half full-blown picture (like this and this.) Aside from the background there tends to be a lot more flexibility in poses with the second type. Also, unless the character is crossing his/her arms, the first type generally doesn't include hands due to the fact that your arms are at least as long as your torso and butt, and having a pic where the arms are longer than the cutoff point for the main body is just awkward.
Tl;dr half body pictures that include the character's entire arm/hands & waist/butt are now a separate category. I'll put up some visual guide later..

Although I still like drawing female chars I'd like to encourage people to request semi-realism style male characters. (Chibis are gender neutral, and anime/bishounen style is not something I intend on developing further.)

tbh since I draw my chibis with pretty big/round eyes, the animation might come out creepy since when her eyes are glowing it would be two really big dots of white. I'm not sure if you're going for a cutesy angry (chibi) or serious angry (non-chibi) mood, though.

no, not quite the chibi like- i guess i meant more the level of detail compared to the animated one you did for invertation? the eyes on frozen's ele would be more the look im going for. lol im sorry if i sound like a bumbling mess..you've just got so many options. as for her facial expression...quite a bit like my avatar. raven did a good job of capturing frosts attitude

its ok i just didnt wanna come across as being pushy. i dont like to make my commissions feel like a bullet list of things i want. i always have ideas, but in the end i want it to be the artists interpretation-if that makes sense.

It's good to have a vision of what you want (: it actually really bothers me when people go "here's my character, do whatever you want!" ...that's just way too vague and I end up spending a ton of time worrying about whether the person who requested the art will like what I did. As far as being pushy goes I don't mind as long as you're not making demands as if you're sitting on some high horse from above.
