This quest unlocks so much more than the waiting game.

Honestly I have to disagree completely with this. I used it all the time more then I used influence. You just have to time it carefully and use it intelegently and it works amazingly well.

I use the knockdown skill a lot. It's easy to hit tab 3, tab 3, as you're running by things.

Is this quest meant to be repeatable? I did it and the quests after it during the weekend but then last night I could do it again.

thats weird all my chars could only do it once each.

Anyways I got bored so I made a video. Pits is kinda sloppy and i hit influence once when I usually don't use it (I keep it mostly for oh shit im rubberbanding situations or for larger groups)

Video removed for security reasons

This quest (and the rest of 2009's quests) got reset at the same day when ANet introduced new quests. If you did this quest before that day you can do it now again. If not, you can now do it only once.

I did it for the first time yesterday since last year. Completed it on first try on a survivor, without any cons.

Thats makes no sense, you're comparing a sugary man to a full character. Apples and oranges.

If, as I said lag is not a factor, and considering the quest is far easier than the waiting game, if you are struggling to use what is an overpowered bar and keep failing then you are really going to struggle with the normal quests in the UW. I can see where you're coming from, but it certainly makes sense.

It's not properly repeatable, but the quests got reset a few days ago causing a one-time repeat.

Which was annoying because it meant my survivor character had to repeat Don't Fear the Reapers - this time with lag - to continue using the captured skeles I've been farming with another character.

Hell yes. Farming that quest, I can make at least 320 ToT bags per hour, which is double what my Vaettir farmer gets.

It also provides a fast and 100% RISK FREE way to make a Legendary Survivor, and by the time you get that title, you'll have 14 stacks of ToT bags in your inventory.

Dying in the first two quests (the candyman appearance ones) doesn't count for survivor, so no problem there.

I've died too of getting stuck but when you do it can be an idea to use the last skill? D:

I already made a post about this in the ToT thread in the farming forum afew days ago because noone had mentioned it.

Also if you die on the reapers quest you don't lose survivor according to wiki.

I can confirm this.

My new survivor failed multiple times due to lag, but /deaths still reports zero... and I continued to progress the title afterwards.

Some way back in this thread I had a whine about the difficulty level of the Halloween quests.
This was based on last years and my inability to finish the waiting game.
Once I abandoned that quest all was well.

So I Take it back I have just done quite a few of this years quests and the balance is far better than last years.
With many of the quests based in none elite areas they have improved things immeasurably.

I took great satisfaction in beating the dragons and have just finished the nightfall quests.
I give them an A+ for improvement.

Took me a few tries too, and died once when getting stuck at two Aatxes (but didn't see I got stuck until it was too late -__-), but got it done.8)

Well I'm giving up for the night after grasping darkness were able to melee me in-spite of being out of range for influence of the mad king. Got all the way to the last reaper to be killed by some really naff game mechanics.

'Off the minimap you say?' melee melee melee 'whats that? influence of the mad king? out of range luv.' melee melee melee.

Broken is a good way to describe parts of the is game.

Quick question, folks:

Does your AR set to a particular value and do runes/insignias make a difference? I'm thinking of leveling a new character via this quest (plus survivor).

It might make a difference, but it's possible not to get hit if you time stuff correctly.

The quest isn't repeatable.

I ran the quest naked with no problems, so yes it does seem to set your AR. (and health, mana, regen)

This thread is here every year. And just a quick question. Did the quest chain restarted once or is it daily cus I can do the whole 2009 quest chain again.

Edit: Just saw that they got restarted once
