Crystal Of Winter
Kormir will return and be useless again until we're distracted, (eg. fighting a God) then she'll ninja our rewards.

Shes obviously the new hero they mentioned as well. You can't equip and skills on her though and she counts as 5 people when figuring in gold distribution and drops.

When the let us know where Thackeray was, instead of some cool exciting story, it will be: "Oh I was just out planning the wedding"

and she gets stuck and you cant move thru her either.....
I am hoping for a mursat hero, that would be neat. Though at this point I am thinking togo or one of his silly students we had to drag around in the beginning of the tutorial (and when you got to the main island).....
MagnumShadow
One of the Envoys as a hero would be sweet.
Ghull Ka
I seem to be the only person hoping for a Rot Wallow hero.

To the people talking about paying for content, I have one example for you: Maplestory.
When Guild Wars gets to that point, fine, complain. The content that we pay for is permanent, Nexon makes (most) of theirs last 90 days or limited use. A lot of their items in their cash shop now mean that you can barely play the game without them. Sure, it's a f2p MMO, but considering how dependant the game is on cash items, you're shelling out way more than you'd have ever spent on Guild Wars. I REALLY don't see NCSoft going down those lines, even with a 5 year old game (and let's be honest, for the age of the game, I'm shocked the amount of cash items is as limited as it is). The items in our cash shop are purely optional. It's your CHOICE if you want to dress your character up in something than the many armour/festival costume items. It's your CHOICE if you want to buy skill packs. It's your CHOICE if you want to get extra character slots/Xunlai panes/name changes.
The cash shop doesn't break the game, give huge advantages or in any way majorly detract from the standard buying campaigns/expansions. It helps to keep the game running and right now, we don't even know when GW2 is going to be released.
I'll agree that yes, they could shift a couple of people off GW2 and back to GW1 for updates but we don't know exactly what those people are working on, how much experience they had with GW1 in the first place, how many hours they are contracted for. Coding isn't simple; I know that from knowing enough people who do it. They are people who do it in their free time, without pay and for a much smaller playerbase. The guy who seemed to think people can code AND design... Sorry but I wish there was a way to slap you over the internet as you clearly know very little about how games are made.
There's been no confirmation that these 40 new costume designs will be cash items, is there? If there is, I must have missed that somewhere. Let me see:
No, I see nothing about paying for these... IF we do, then yes, they're pushing it in terms of buyable content. But how many people would want/need to buy 40 costumes? If so. how do you know you'll like all of them? Do you have every single set of armour available for your character because you just HAVE to have all of them?
Anyway, rant over there.
I'm looking forward to the new Canthan content. It'd be nice if there were some costumes related to that, but in general I'm happy at the thought of wandering around Cantha doing new things and maybe our heroes will have a bit more Canthan diversity now! I think it's just Zenmai, Jin, Xandra and Sousuke who hail from there. Would <3 a Kirin hero.

With that, I think the single greatest need of the Guild Wars community has at long last been fulfilled. The next costumes we'll be doing after that are for Wintersday. Traditionally, that's a very Dwayna and Grenth affair... but there could be some others getting involved this year.

Sometimes history speaks for itself.
Have any of the costumes been free thus far?

I'm beyond amazed that anyone would complain about costumes. Don't want em, don't buy em. Don't want devs to spend time making them, you better start paying their wages. If you've got an alternative solution, feel free to suggest it. Otherwise, you can vent your pent up rage about how long you have to wait for even more free stuff to the mirror, because no one else cares.
I strongly feel that guild wars does this better than any game ever. Consider: when you boil it down, farmville is nothing but the guild wars costume shop, and something like 100 million people 'play' that.

I'm a GW noob who's working through the Trilogy and EotN campaigns currently. The only costume I've paid RL money for is the Shining Blade one, and it's been worth it for the improvement to several characters. My male ele/necro and female necro/warrior now wear the Shining Blade costume, dyed red. It seems to fit various landscapes too, whether jungle, savannah, or Nightfall's Middle East/Northern African-type landscapes.
I agree that the costumes hopefully won't get out of hand. They don't seem to be yet, though.

Instead of making costumes, make a small DLC which consists of 2 new dungeons. 10 new weapon skins and 2 new armour sets per prof linked to those dungeons. That's what I would buy. Something new to go through and have the choice of liking a particular skin. They would have made a killing releasing these every few months but there you go.

I think they shoot themselves in the foot a bit, as I think they would make more money from DLC, but on the other hand I would probably have quit playing if I had to keep forking out for the content. I've got the gw boxes sitting on a shelf and I always come back to it. If I had to pay extra for all the stuff that had been added everytime I picked it up after a break... well, it's just another barrier to picking it up again isn't it?
I'm not disagreeing though, it's definitely a good suggestion, I'm just saying I personally prefer the way it's done atm.
