But I'm going to pass the thanks from myself to Todes who allowed me to keep and sell his old bows. Without knowing it, those bows were what Kickstarted the chain of events leading up to acquiring those crystallines.

Hello everyone,

As most of you know by now, I focus on collecting attribute shields, of which many have been posted here already. Today I'm not uploading any shields like those. For the last couple of weeks I've put my attention to other characters, who have little or no use for attribute shields. Im talking about my Ranger, Warrior and Assassin. I have spend about all of my ecto's acquiring the items you'll see below, but they were worth every last one of them.

As for my Ranger, Emma Toxophilas, I bought the Eternal Bows, which I've posted earlier. I always like to have a defensive set matching its primary weapon. Since those bows are req 8's, I had to find a matching req 8 set. Now what weapon and shield match Eternal Bow's better then a Chaos Axe and Eternal Shield? None I thought so, but then I had to find a fitting req 8 Chaos Axe and req 8 Eternal Shield.

And that was when things got out of control.

Now to my Assassin, Emma Toxophilas. This character is one of my most played ones. I used to do all kinds of speedclears with her. Those days lie behind me and now she runs through all of Cantha for me, opening chests. For doing this, I thought she deserved a world class weapon and shield. Today I purchased the final piece for this set. A true Canthan set for a Canthan chest runner.

Now my last two items. My Warrior, Emma Tha Warrior, hadn't been getting the attention she deserved the last few months. So a week back I thought, lets get her something special. I went browsing on guru and came across these two items, sold separately, while they should have been a set. Although they were sold by the same person, I now brought them together to never be separated again. I bring to you, in my opinion, my best set so far. I'm so very proud of these and my Warrior has never looked better.

Now I sit here behind my laptop, still not done. My lust for epic and awesome old school items still hasn't been fulfilled. I tell you this, you will see more of me here.

i hate to tell you this emma, but i think your warrior might have been the better choice to customize your chaos axes for.
also, while your ranger has lotsa custo'd q8 axes, your poor warrior only has one wep that is even lacking some damage. wut r you doing?

And EK & Emma, now i know why its so hard to find some nice bows for my new Ranger, really nice collections.
Hope you are done so far, that i can fill up mine.
I mean i just started to collect a month ago, when my ranger quit the presearing cause he reached max level.
But i just found some nice bows in this time, hope there are more to come.

Good luck with it bro. Due to time commitments(and my kids hounding my to play GW2 with them daily) I am 100% done with GW1. But I don't think Emma is going anywhere anytime soon!

I know this pales in comparison to some of the other bow collections that have been posted... But I haven't posted in a long time and I want to keep the bow theme going because I think they are under appreciated. Here are my 3 favorite bow skins in guild wars and I'm very honored to have the privilege to hold them on my ranger.

1. Dead Bow - My favorite bow skin in guild wars. I spent years chasing one of these - quite literally. Almost had one a couple years ago, and then last minute it was sold to someone else. Then this one came up. I want to thank my friend Mia for helping me get it, and Aris for selling it to me. Definitely one of my longest time guild wars goals.

2. Mursaat Bow - A close second favorite skin. Another bow that I have wanted to own for a long long time. Notice the same merchant values

No, but seriously, I planned for one chaos axe on my Ranger. So I got one and a couple of days later I could buy the others. Without hesitation I also customized those. Perhaps my Warrior was a better place, but my Ranger's Pet/Axe build is a whole lot of fun

Oh my, Emma. Look how far you've come in such a short time.

I get approached by people fairly regularly asking how to become a collector. Most come to nothing, or are scared off by the enormity of the task to assemble a meaningful collection. Every now and then however, someone comes along who defies this trend, and here is proof that you are one of those someones.

You should be very proud of what you have achieved here. It is all the more impressive how quickly you managed to achieve this. I salute you.

I know you had some luck, and frankly so did I. You need luck to make your name in the world of collecting antiquities. Well done on an excellent job. I am glad I was able to be a part of your success. Look after that shield. It's very special.

You have been noticed. And for the right reasons.

And Buzan. R8 15^50 dead bow? Quite simply, in my opinion that is one of the rarest bows in existence. Massive congrats for that one. I think it's the only one? I heard the other was banned...

I certainly agree with that statement. Thanks man. It may be the only one that has been logged into in a long time, but I don't know if I can claim only one still possible to be around. That being said, however many there are, it's still easily one of the rarest bows in game I think. I'm not sure how naga and bramble q8's compare, but I think it's up there with those. Coffee man would know ;P

And as for you, congrats on getting that +5e cryst... That thing is way more epic than my dead bow haha

Bramble is rare too but mainly it allways had most demand from all of those. ppl love the skins

Have to disagree with you Pleikki :3 Dead Bow is the rarest skin as req8 15^50, although it's harder to find naga bows since the last 5-6 years (I'd even say impossible as non-customized). But in terms of chance to drop back in the day the Dead bow win.

I also think I know where one more dead bow is uncustomized (assuming that's what you meant as the last one in the game) but I wouldn't exactly call it an active account.

But awesome shiz everyone, glad to see some bows pop up! I wish I could show some new bows aswell but it ain't moving atm sadly haha.. The ones I want isn't easy to find

hmm.. Ive only seen like 2-3 of nagas q8 15^50 ever customized or not. Deads in otherhand seen 10-15 atleast

I've seen quite a few more than that of Nagas, and the last 6-7 dead bows up for sale were just 3 different ones being passed around ^.^

Part of me agrees with coffee man because to my knowledge q8-13 max dead bows really only dropped from 1 or 2 types of foes in game. I remember back in the day before hard mode, any q was quite pricey coMpared to other bow skins. I heard they dropped from the chests around the portal wraiths in hells and fow? Cause the typical undead in kryta were too low level to drop max dead bows. That's why when hard mode came out,the q9+ became a plenty but not 8. I'd be curious to know where they came from in q8, coffee

There were many more foes that could drop a q8 naga bow.

I guess I missed the dead bow passing around. The one Hiro sold is the last one remember before mine. Was there other?

Spun Ducky hoarded the 3 dead bows when he was active (Kromps old and I believe the other 2 were from System if not mistaken?) then I bought one of them (ty senpai) and the other 2 was passed around for some time until staying quiet after that if I recall correctly.

So i take that back, the last 6-7 sales has been 3 ones passed around aswell as Hiros whom had his for a while.

I'm surprised (but not surprised at all) to hear that people remember that I used to be in the bow game. At my peak, I had 3 req 8 15^50 dead bows, but I can't tell you anymore who I sold them to.

I can say for sure, though, that I sold a significant portion of my collection to Spun Ducky. It's perfectly possible that his trifecta of Dead bows were mine.

At this point, all that's left from my once-glorious bow collection is the req 8 +5e fleshy hornbow. For a while, people were in the habit of telling me that there were (or that there must be) others like it, but -- as far as I know -- no such bow has appeared...I'm still a little curious to hear if anyone's found one.

But, all of that aside (and it really can all be set aside...it's really just trivia) I loved seeing a req 8 15^50 dead bow. Haven't seen one in a long time. It's a thing of beauty. For the love of Tyria, please leave it that way

. I figured a lot of people haven't seen one in a long time, and it's the kind of item that is worthy of being shown in a thread like this. It's one of the items that I own that I log into my account just to see.

It's one of the greatest and one of the most under appreciated things to come out of Tyria in my opinion, and my ranger loves holding on to it. Maybe the single most unappreciated rare Tyrian item IMO. Sephis axes are way more appreciated it seems.

Anyhow, that aside, I plan on keeping it on her as a relic of times past for a long long long time. (Translation - it's never gonna be for sale

). It's a permanent exhibit in my museum of a couple really nice guild wars items so people can see it for generations to come.

I remember seeing a few R8 15^50 dead bows here and there over the years. A few naga and bramble but both of those are a bit skewed as well because they dropped in a few styles and dead is just the recurve. They are all rare as heck.

Dead bows I remember they were fairly hard to find any of them long ago, but now they are so common it's stupid. Went from a rare drop to one of the most common drops in the game now, like sephis axes.

While dead bows are extremely rare, I just found the skin to be ugly personally. Sephis axes always had a popular following though. Was a pretty unique axe, and axes were well used in those days.

Heck dwarven axes are super rare but most people go on and on about crystalines swords.

dead bows rare as, they only dropped from bone dragons back in the day as they were literally the only mobs that were max level undead.

Yea, non-inscribable Crystallines are so 2005.

I love anything rare and exclusive. Anything that requires total connoisseur-ship to appreciate.

Dwarven axes & hammers, Crystallines, Tyrian Serpent axes, Krytan axes, and of course, the excruciatingly rare Swamp Club. Pre-nerf goodies.

But more than the items, I love the appreciation of such items. It's what drives us to collect and celebrate them. That's why we do it.

I think clean gold dwarven axes are still able to drop, since they drop in EotN and you can also get a clean BDS. Atleast that's what I think... I don't know much, just sharing what's on my mind

Yes. Also UW/fow foes are undead which were able drop q8s for quite sometime since q8 drops were nerfed

Hey, I've completed something, so time to show off!
(yes, I'm aware that this is really lame compared to the other stuff posted here)

It took me ~10 months of actively searching to finish this, I already had 5 skins when i started.
I'm really glad I can now choose any skin I want especially since daggers were the first thing that I was into collection-wise.

Thanks to everyone who sold me these daggers and special thanks to system.fan who sold me the very first pair after i began my active search and eventually the final pair a couple of days ago! <3
