I think it is a good reward for the art contest.
If I would ever have won a mini Kanaxai, I would have kept it.
reason being that it is one of the very few, very rare rewards for a community achievement, which makes it priceless.
If I would have won it, I wouldnt be selling it, not even for 100000+ecto, in which case I wouldnt be rediculously rich, I would just have another mini, although it is a very cool one.
I would much prefer people contributing to the community to get a nice mini, then people that get rare minis simply for buying some lame magazine.
GW Artcontest = Unfair rewards?

i dont like how they make it a rare item for the reward. i bet if it was something common people wont enter. but if you put your heart into something then you deserve to win. BUT i hate how some of the contest the winners that were picked were people who stole work. i think they should first find a way to prevent that before they do a contest.

this thread makes me lol. I can see why ur jealous, and I do think they should include in game ways to obtain all minis, but at the same time what difference does it really make? lol. Seriously tho, make Kanaxai drop from his chest at the same rate of a polar bear.

If you want to waste real money on hiring a professional for a game do it.
The only thing those art contest made me think was "Hmmm it'd be nice if I could draw like that" not "that's unfair QQ".
And if you need a ton of ecto to fill out your HoM that you have a little problem...instead of buying your way through every titles and achievements, play the game (you don't even need the money titles, and getting 50 mini pets if you have played for 5 years shouldn't be that hard, unless you sold those you got for free, but then it's your own fault, the Devotion Monument has been there for quite a few years).

Now tell all the nice people of Guru where your healing inept guild leader got all that money from. Hint: it wasn't from RMT or entering art contests.

I haven't done the cross-referencing, but I would be willing to bet that many of the people claiming jealousy on the O/P were also among the most bitter members of the botting discussions a few months back. Remember the ones where the big argument was people shouldn't have money that they didn't work for in game.
Consistency is king.

I have 500k total plat in storage yet I'm a better healer than my Guild Leader who has 1000k plat plus 10,000k worth of stuff. True story.

having alot of in-game money =/= being good at the game.
I've played the game for five years with less than 100k worth of gold+items to my account. There's plenty of times when I've out-played people with more than 20x the amount of money I have
