Fix Unconditionals
shifting shadows
Yes, these weapons do give an unfair advantage. Yes there are some in use in pvp, and no there is absolutely no way to tell how many are being used. Making random assumptions about how many there are when you have no information on it, then insulting people while proving your own ignorance borders on the ridiculous.
Additionally for the rest of the ignorant people claiming A-Net can't change it or that they need to delete it one by one, it's stored on a server and all they have to do to find out how many there are is run a search for items with that particular attribute. You then do a "mass mod" and either delete it or modify all of these weapons so that they are no longer unconditional. How difficult this is is completely relative because there are so many factors in programming and it's also partially dependent on the programmer's level of experience. But it's not impossible - that's complete BS.
For the ignorant minded people who will still try to spam QQ it's not possible, think back to when A-Net made a mistake (pre factions) with a patch that was supposed to fix the GW economy which was broke as hell for awhile. It messed up the prices and people ending up making hundreds of plat within minutes. Everyone who had done the buying and selling treating runes and dye like the stock market got their inventory and gold reset and it took minutes. Those that didn't participate in this didn't have their inventories touched.
Moral of the story? A-Net can easily track your items and modify or delete them.

Prove it.
Was this really the case? I thought that it was a global reset.

I dont have Wintergreen Weapons, but "fix" on them is not necessary because you can still find weapon with no attribute with the same damage or closer to wintergreen weapon damage, like this one :
http://img502.imageshack.us/i/immaginekr.png/ So with luck you can find weapons with the same stats of wintergreen ones but with different skins. |

You chose an exception as an example, since "+X vs race" are PvE-only properties. So that's senseless.
The other exceptions are Highly salvageable and Improved sale value. They have nothing to do with PvP, and there's absolutely no need to have them in the item creation panel since they do not affect PvP in any way. I may have forgotten to mention that such an exception exists, but it's so obvious that you should have done so, instead implying that I was counting them too. By the way, those properties should exist as PvE-only properties that would appear randomly in weapons, inherent instead as mods. Unlike inscriptions, there's nothing wrong with having them fixed, since they do not affect PvP at all, and there's no need to have them in the PvP-item creation panel. That would also allow us to fully mod those charrslaying weapons in the hall of monuments. To compensate the extra property, their value should be increased, though. There's nothing wrong with PvE-only properties if they affect only PvE. It's not like you can have actual balance between players and AI in PvE, by design there's no such thing as balance in PvE fights, with things like all those PvE and monster skills, and the AI flaws, and the insane interrupt reflexes AI has, and the high health, energy, attributes and armor AI enemies have. But PvE-only properties are the only exception. The exception proves the rule. |
you need 10 vs. demons in pvp if u 1v1 me

Oh that will go over well.
...Unconditionals on the other hand are actually very difficult to keep track of as they could have resulted from any drop anywhere for a longer period of time (not to mention 6 years of being traded around). I don't think its possible for A.net to find them all. It fact, I believe that was the official explanation for why they didn't change them back when they retroactively changed that Sorrow's Furnace Green. T... blah blah |

It's shocking that there's even people who care about this... that's all that can be said really.
Edit: +10 vs Species removed from the game, really? Go away.

That never changes.
Now we have the Menagerie, and I don't think anyone thinks that having the menagerie is bad.
Any fix is always good, no matter how small.
It's not like they should stop what they are doing to fix this, but if they ever fix something about weapons, and what they do is a fix similar enough that can be quickly and easily extended to affect this kind of anomalous weapons, they should go for it, instead leaving them be.
Swingline
This would be quite difficult. Not only do you have to find the people using them but also get them to show it to you for a SS.
Anything ANet did that f**ked the economy with a patch had a complete server rollback about 1 hour before patch was released.
TBH I'm sure there are ppl who pvp with these but they make such a negligible difference. The only time they become better is when you go below 50% hp and by that time you will be healed over 50% or die within 1-2 seconds before taking full benefit from the weapon. A monk in GvG/HA/RA will not let a frontliner linger below 50% and in cases where there is no monk, like in RA, you can achieve a perm +15% damage by weapon swapping accordingly when your health is below 50%. Many of the top GvG/HA teams got to where they are by skill not some axe a frontliner has with perm 13-15% damage.
I don't remember but I'm pretty sure the damage inherent only applies to the damage the weapon does and does not include attack skills. If these weapons were a make or break victory in GvG/HA/RA they would have been nerfed a very long time ago.

Considering the game's been out for six years, yet there's literally never been anyone known to be doing it, it seems extremely doubtful. No one would definitely have customized one for PvP use after the first couple of years, with prices in the thousands of ectos.
helloeveryone
well, since this weapon wasn't in the "normal" range of the weapons requirements, just remove it. It does not really do any substantial harm to either pvp or pve so there is no reason to make it a piority, just remove it when they are really really free and bored. But if it does make owners of such weapon QQ and whine and cry, i would suggest Anet not to remove it since it does not really have much influence with gameplay.

Imagine you had a mini kanaxai, or something about the same value, and Anet all of a sudden sais "hey, those mini kanaxai's are unfair because those people are way too rich imo, let's delete them" and they deleted them, I'm pretty sure you would "QQ and whine and cry".

The only other thing that is close enough to this to be comparable, is the triple mods from the mausoleum, which are going to be fixed.
Yawgmoth
Can't believe some people are fighting so zealously to remove something this insignificant, something that has completely no impact on the game balance at all. Jelly so much?
How about Anet working on:
1. real balance issues instead of the most harmless ones imaginable
2. adding MORE new cool interesting drop possibilities to PvE that aren't more of the same shit we already got. It can be done without impacting the balance.
